I'm sure there's multiple spots for BBQ in Louisville, this is the only one I got to though when I was in town. I'm no expert but I certainly enjoyed it here. Got a nice sausage platter, with lots of meat and sides. They have all the usual meat options to choose from. It's a little pricey but at least you get your money's worth. It also has a good craft beer and drink selection. Has both indoor and outdoor seating so a good amount of space if you have a big group. It's located near several other bars, and Akasha Brewing, so it's a good place to stop for dinner before going out, which is what we did for my brother's bachelor party. Maybe not the best place ever in Louisville, but it more than got the job done and glad we went. read more

I found this restaurant by searching the Yelp app. And I am so glad we found it. The reason I chose this barbecue restaurant over the others is two words Bourbon Slush!! When we arrived there was a long line. In my mind that is always a good sign. People don't wait in line for crappy food. You order at the counter and then find a seat. We ordered 3 sandwiches. One pork, one brisket and one chicken. And each came with one side. Plus I ordered a bourbon slush of course. All of the meat was great. By far the best chicken I have had. It was still moist, not dry at all. All of the sandwiches came out sauceless with the sauces on the table. There are 3 to choose from sweet, hot and vinegar. Yes! Just the best. Order at the counter--our order came out super quickly. The sides were amazing. Brisket was a little dry but honestly did not mind at all because the tacos were so flavorful. I understand that I'm in the minority here but Feast just doesn't do it for me. An order of their fried pickles can be good to take to Akasha to munch on but even those have their issues. I remember trying Feast for the first time in New Albany. Now they only have the Louisville location. It benefits greatly from being in Nulu, near Climb Nulu, and Akasha. I have no idea why this place is rated so high. I will say the food is fine but there are so many other great BBQ places in this city. It's like people aren't trying all the other places. The common line that tends to form outside of this restaurant baffles me. As mentioned before, I can order the fried pickles from here but they definitely aren't worth 10 bucks. They also have too much batter. If you want some of the best-fried pickles, head to Silver Dollar. The loaded tots can also be a good muncher. That's an app best shared when you order it. The pulled pork/chicken is just eh. When you grow up around bbq(eating and having it made at home), some restaurants can be tough. If I want pulled pork/chicken, Feast isn't the first place I think of. I think of Mark's Feed Store, Momma's, City BBQ, Shack in the Back, Moonlite(In Owensboro), River Road BBQ or even Rubbies. The brisket is okay but again, I prefer another place(Momma's). On my last visit here, I tried their tacos. The tacos were huge but they might as well have been listed as veggie tacos because the meat was minimal. I realize this review has turned into a complain-fest. Their sister restaurant(Royals) hits all the right marks. Maybe that's what it is for people and Feast. Feast all the right marks but they're the marks that I don't need or like when I want to have bbq. I don't want to completely knock it. If you're in town and don't feel like venturing out to any of the other bbq places, Feast might be your closest bbq destination. Go ahead and give it a try. First this place is located in a super cute and eclectic neighborhood. Inside the decor is fun and cool. If it wasn't an early lunch I would have wanted to try a drink, especially the bourbon slush with Ale-8. Instead I just chowed down. The pulled pork is delicious. It's perfectly moist and flavorful. I enjoyed the toasted bun. The mac n cheese was my favorite side. The slaw was ok. The beans were fabulous and I don't even like baked beans. I also sampled some fried pickles and tots. They are fine. The best surprise for me is was the smoked sausage. It's spicy, but a nice warm fill ya mouth spice. I don't think you can go wrong ordering anything here. Decent food. All the flavors were good. The heat was not quite there for us on the bbq sauce, but the quality of the sausage was good. The service was indifferent at best and listening to the staff openly complain the whole time we were in line almost made us leave. Sadly it was a Monday and we did not have alot of choices. What was really lame was the ALL FAT slice they put on a sandwich for the brisket. I was so turned off by the staff I did not want to engage them so we ate what we could and left. Headed to Feast tonight to enjoy a classic barbecue joint. As someone from Kansas City, I can say this food would compete strongly with our best BBQ back home. Like a number of places I've dined in the last month, you order and pay at the counter, get a number stanchion and head to a picnic table awaiting some amazing food. I was told I must start with the Loaded Tots, a monster pile of crisp tots piled with slaw, onions and barbecue sauce. It was a "wow" dish! For my entrée, I ordered a half pound plate of pulled pork, including some decadent sides: potato salad and creamy slaw. They definitely know how to smoke meat. I paired it with some of their traditional sauce. I ordered a small signature Boubon Slushie, which promptly gave me a head freeze, especially when its 20 degrees out. First time in Louisville, and first time eating BBQ here. The sweet/tangy taste was not the best to my palate, but I'm sure some people really enjoy it. Came in, a lady explained to me a whole set of rules which I gladly obeyed. Ordered at the counter and sat down according to the number I was given by that lady. Food came out really fast. I had 1/4 ribs, add some brisket and mac n cheese. The ribs were the tangy/sweet taste, brisket was moist and tender, mac n cheese was awesome. We stopped in on a Thursday evening and were the only people dining in at the time. The girl at the counter was helpful when it came to helping us make decisions on what to order since it was our first time. Our food came out really quick and everything was hot and fresh but most importantly not dried out! I feel like often times later in the evening at places like this the meat and sides are dried out and just not always great, but that definitely wasn't the case here. I have the Baby Back Plate and it was delicious!! This was my feast time ever trying Feast BBQ and even though I ordered to go, it did not disappoint. Super impressed with the flavor and tenderness of the ribs. It had a sweetness to them, that I always appreciate with ribs. With the plate you get two sides, so I ordered the sweet potato fries (they were sweet, not sure what they did, but they were smackin) and Rev's White Chocolate Bread Pudding Sticks. I ordered a side of baked beans too. It was enough food for two people. I ate on it for two days! The half rack of ribs came with about 6-7 bones. You definitely get your monies worth. Those bread pudding sticks were amazing! They gave me life y'all. Idk what they did, but whatever magic they worked paid off! I'd def order this again, or try the brisket. I had a full rack of baby back ribs with a side of collard greens, and it was delicious! The ribs are tender and flavorful, and the hot barbecue sauce is really good. Collard greens were tangy, and slightly sweet with some chill flakes to give it a kick. There are bits of pulled meat in the collard greens, so it's not vegan. If you're into breweries, Akasha Brewing is right next door and they'll let you bring food in their brewery. Their beers are really good and I had an IPA that paired nicely with my meal. My first visit located in NULU was on Pride Day. It was close so we popped in to have the highly recommended offerings. A very steamy summers afternoon begging for a the coldest beverage possible. The friendly staff asked me to try The bourbon slushy. Now me being a bourbon enthusiast I was reluctant but pleasantly surprised how wonderful it was while hitting the spot. We ordered at the counter where we decided to share a few items and found a table. They bring your food to you. Entree one the "Tots" potatoes with a touch Light bbq sauce covered over in a creamy crisp slaw, next item was a two portion entree of another highly recommended item The pork cakes with sour cream/ sweet bbq covered in "yep you guessed it" more of the same great slaw finally to top it off was a side of Mac n cheese with a silky cheese with a scattering of baked bread crumbles. From a Texas BBQ fanatic, this place will get 5 stars everyday day of the week! Excellent service, friendly and casual atmosphere, and some of the best food we've had on our week long Louisville trip. We ordered the chopped brisket sandwich with potato salad, the pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese, and the fried pickles. The brisket was rich and flavorful, and the pulled pork was nothing short of perfection! The Mac and cheese was creamy and fresh, but I would skip on the potato salad next time as it tasted like nothing but straight celery salt. The fried pickles come out fresh and flavorful, topped with cotija cheese and served with ranch that'll knock your socks off. If you're eating with a group I highly recommend getting an order of the pickles to share! During the COVID self-containment, I grabbed some Clorox wipes, put on the gloves, mask, glasses, and hat, and ventured into NuLu for some food pickup. A virtual Yelp Elite event had me select a delivery/pickup spot tonight for dinner, in downtown Louisville. I chose Feast BBQ in NuLu; new to me. My first time eating their food, and I am in love!!! I was able to eat about 1/10 of what is pictured (1/4 rack baby back ribs, 1/2 plate pulled pork, 1/4 plate brisket, massive hot link sausage)... it's going to feed me all week! I was a little sad they forgot to give me one of my sides (the reason for four stars, not five), but the gloom disappeared at first bite. The pulled pork is some of the best I've had, and the candied ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender. Everything was delicious! The smoked mustard sauce wasn't my favorite, but I couldn't stop using it on the sausage link. The pairing was very nice! This will be our BBQ spot in Louisville now.
