I love Toasty's Tavern. I had dinner there on a weeknight with coworkers. We started with a round of drinks. We all got something different and they were all delicious!! We all got Toasty Burgers for dinner. They were so good! The smash burger, with the seasoned fries, and the homemade ranch were absolutely PERFECT!! Everything was hot, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The waitress we had was wonderful too. She added to our overall experience and was wonderful to meet. I can't wait to go back!

The menu is a little limited but the portions were huge. The fries were crispy and well seasoned! Our drinks took awhile to come and the food wasn't piping hot but it was a busy Saturday so understandable. The patio was a fun place to sit while we waited.

Allegedly the best smash burger in town! My friends all love coming here so I had to come by and see what the hype was all about. When we got there, they didn't have any tables open. We waited like 2 minutes then got seated. Service was quick. They gave us cold waters immediately upon sitting down then asked if we wanted to get any other drinks. My friend opted for the Diet Coke. I stuck with water. We shared the fries, which had a really nice seasoning...something similar to a dry rub you'd put on meat. I got the cheeseburger since it's the best seller, while my friend got the breakfast sandwich. She comes here a lot and has tried most things on the menu. It's very much diner style food. A little greasy, no frills. The smash burger had a nice crispiness to it. Overall, I didn't find it to be the most flavorful burger I've had. While Louisville doesn't have a ton of smash burger joints, I have to give it to them for making a really nice, thin, crispy patty. Not sure if anyone else does that around here. They have a ton of seating though. And they're dog friendly. Prices are pretty reasonable. Definitely a cheaper option. And the fries are shareable. They give you a LOT for the price. Parking around here is parallel. Sometimes it's tough to find a spot in front but I never have issues finding parking on the side streets. Service was good. They were pretty attentive. Food was fast and our server came around a lot to check on us. And they were pretty busy so I was happy to see that!

A chill spot with great service and food! Brittany was our server and she was great! The fried mushrooms were good, the fries were just "meh", the house margarita (they were out of the monthly special) was on par for your average margarita, but the cheeseburger was excellent! There was steady business but our food came out really quickly, was hot, fresh, and good. Love any place that has outdoor seating, especially a covered patio for hot or rainy days. We'll definitely be back!

Visiting Louisville and Looking for a Great Burger. Found Toasty's Tavern. I tried to call in an order, but the phone went to voicemail. I ordered at the bar. I got it to go. We ordered the Double Cheeseburger with smashed patties, Pop's Pickles, lettuce, griddled onions, and American cheese. Toasty's sauce in the side. Holy Hamburger was it delicious and took me down to hamburger heaven. Juicy, melty cheese, awesome onions, crisp Pop's Pickles, and Incredible flavor. Voted best burger and there's a reason, because it's so freaking delicious. I enjoyed every bite. I did the sauce on the side because I didn't want to mask any of the beef flavor. The Toasty's sauce is good and ketchup and mustard also work. Just an amazing, delicious, incredible burger. We shared an order of fries with the magic dust. They were also really good, but I couldn't eat many because I was full from all that delicious burger. Very good fries. The service was good. I would definitely return if in the area. I have heard the neighborhood is sketchy and we went at night. I didn't feel unsafe and there were people walking around the streets. Always be aware of your surroundings if not from the area.

I stopped into Toasty's during the lunch rush at 3pm on the day they rolled out the new Spring menu. They had cocktail menu and a few updated dishes. The place was a little hectic but the kitchen delivered without major delays. I tried two of the new cocktails, both $11. The Spice - nice spicy honey flavor, tasted nice and sweet with a solid kick, but the presentation was bizarre. It came in a standard rocks glass with no ice and what looked like about two-thirds of a normal pour. I literally looked at it and said to myself, "Where's the rest?" For the price, it felt more like a shot than a proper cocktail. I'm sure they'll get some questions about it from customers. The Monthly Cocktail, the Habanero Mango Spicy Margarita, was excellent--strong mango flavor upfront and a serious spicy finish that actually delivered a kick without overpowering everything. That one was worth the money. The food is where Toasty's really shines. The double cheeseburger ($15) is a very solid size, easily Whopper-level, nicely greasy in the best way, and the house cheese "Toasty sauce" gives it a creamy, sharp, melty cheesy punch that ties everything together. No complaints there. The fries ($3.50 extra) are thin-cut, extra crispy, and heavily seasoned with a Cajun-style blend that reminded me of Five Guys but with its own twist. They were REALLY good and worth getting. Overall the food is very good and I can see exactly why people around town call Toastys one of the best burgers. The drinks were mostly decent, except for the odd portioning on The Spice. If you're there for the burger and fries, you'll leave happy. Solid spot.

One of the best burgers in town. Get a double!! Greasy, crispy edges, juice patty, melty cheese. The fries are super crispy it seems like they use a wet batter but it's the perfect ratio of batter to potato. If you try the pickle dip, save it to dip your fries in. Inside and outdoor seating. They have heaters and plastic drapes when it's cold. Grab some friends or your SO and go grub!

To borrow from Jules Winnfield, this is a tasty burger! I love a good smash burger (most any burger, to be fair, but a well-seasoned, crispy, caramelized patty is a thing of beauty). And theirs is pretty darn high on my list...perfectly grilled, nice splash of sauce, melted cheese, some onions...only regret (which I will remedy next time) was just going with the single patty. Don't fail as I did, get the double. Sides are quite good. Fries with magic dust and some cheese sauce go great with anything or stand out on their own. The pickle dip was good, but didn't really stand up alongside the rest of the menu. Some great cocktails too, don't skip out there (or if you prefer a beer, some good options there too). Vibe is super laid back (see the sign in the photos). I think there's some outdoor space, but it's also pretty small--not a critique at all, just a note to be aware when you're planning a trip. But you can easily put your name and enjoy a drink at the Canary Club across the street while you wait, a delightful little combo. Bartenders and servers are awesome. Attentive and friendly.

We went on a Thursday and stood outside on the waitlist. According to the website, Thursday is college night, 25% off with a college ID. We were seated at the bar, the bartender was apologetic about our wait. I ordered the cheeseburger with a double patty, fries and a cup of chili. The chili was tasty, lots of beef and beans. The cheeseburger was yummy, I enjoyed the onions smashed into the patties. Fries were crispy and so good dipped in the ranch. I will say the cheeseburger was greasy, the bun was a bit soggy. If a greasy burger isn't your thing I would probably order something else on the menu.

Toasty's feels like such a Louisville Institution™. We were going to see a show with some friends and were trying to decide where to eat beforehand. As soon as someone mentioned Toasty's everyone jumped up and agreed. We started with the pickle dip that everyone loved. For my entree, I just knew this was a place where you couldn't go wrong with a burger and fries, and I was correct in my assumption. The burger is a beautifully simple crispy edged smash burger, and the fries are, as advertised, among the best in town. The atmosphere is super welcoming and homey. They were a little understaffed the day we went but it was no problem, we still got taken care of amazingly. Definitely come by here if you haven't already!

Wow!! I was pleasantly impressed with this place in Louisville! Very simple menu but the burgers and fries were absolutely incredible. The burgers reminded me of in and out in the best way possible. Great flavor. Amazing taste. Perfect burger consistency. But the real star of the show were the French fries! YOU MUST TRY the French fries. They were so good we got a second batch and are even thinking of going back today before we leave! Service was top notch too with multiple servers checking in on us. Ambience was matching of a cool burger bar! I will be back for sure!

Great authentic smash burgers, with neighborhood hipster vibes. After buying Toasty's magic dust seasoning I decided I needed to visit. It's a great spot nestled near Shelby park. I walked right in and found a seat. I ordered a double with cheese and a basket of the seasoned fries. The burger a very traditional smash burger plenty of cooked onions and cheese. A tasty sauce and soft bun. Cooked perfectly with a tapered crispy edge. The fries delicious seasoned with the patented magic dust. Not spicy just bold flavor. The price is pretty standard these days after tip pretty much twenty bucks. It's worth a visit lots of vibes it's a smash burger lovers dream.

This is a hidden spot ~ was able to try the Hamburger very good charred loved the pickles I did not try the vegan hamburger. Their fries are good regular but the best for me are their mushrooms ~ they were deep fried and large almost resembled ribs lol ~ they came with these two sauces which were fantastic. I was a little taken aback at the bartender they were out of the advertised Wednesday specialty drinks which were Watermelon did get to sample one which is why I wanted one but they were out when asked about the price of the two drinks was told the price and ordered the small but charged a different price and the drink was full of juice no liquor not likely to order again Ambiance was outside a little small but fitting for summer. Best thing about this place is the Mushrooms! Delicious

Ask the Community - Toasty's Tavern

    Is there anything Gluten-Free?

It's a pretty bread heavy menu. There are a couple of omelets that are probably safe. The Wedge Salad has breadcrumbs but you could probably order without. You could also ask about the loaded fries to see what kind of thickener they use on the gravy.

I am obsessed with their fish and chips, but recently I got a steak and salad. The steak itself was fine, a little bit better than the average pub steak, but the sauce on top? So flavorful, garlicky, and easily soaked into the meat. This place and their sauces, I'm telling you! They are awesome at it. The salad was so fresh and smothered in yummy toppings. The blue cheese was nice and tart. Combined with my steak? Ugh, I was so happy. And of course, as always, I loved my bartender. Plus, the weather is nice and they have plenty of outdoor seating.

There's a bartender named Yan who used to run this challenge where he'd make you a cocktail and only charge you if you liked it, he was really good at what he does. He's the one who introduced me to the Paper Plane, which is now one of my all-time favorite cocktails. I'm not sure if he's still there, but the other bartenders seem pretty good too. Just tell them what you're in the mood for and let them guide you. Here's what I got recently: The Dark Bar Princess: a must if you like something sweet and fruity. I'd say it's lime-forward with a strong pomegranate presence, and the gin completely disappears into it. Super refreshing and really easy to slam. Highly recommend this one. The Day Disco: a mezcal cocktail with a chili rim that brings real smokiness and heat. It's got a little sweetness to balance it out, but the mezcal is definitely there. I've never loved mezcal so this is just "pretty good". Monkey Drive shot: It smells and tastes artificial, like heavy fake banana, almost chemical. Not their strong suit. On the food side, I can definitely recommendthe Machada empanada for $6. Beefy, cheesy, and one of the best bar snacks they have supposedly. The bartender told me it's their biggest crowd-pleaser and I agree. Overall, would recommend this spot
