Pork taco with fries. I added the siracha sauce

We had a specially catered event with Feastro and it was ok, just not as good as I had hoped. Fish taco - small, barely had enough inside. Even if it was more cabbage that would help. -flavour - 4 stars -portion -2 stars -would I want more? Yes, and no. Needs to be bigger! Pork taco was twice the size of my fish taco. I was satisfied with this. -flavour - 4 stars -portion -4.5 stars -would I want more? Hell yeah! Fries on the side? They were good, I'd say average for what I've had in the past with other foodie truckers. There is a lot of potential there, but as a group, we noticed that some tacos were bigger than others. there has to be more uniformity with the food. The flavours are spot on. They've got that part right. People are paying top dollars for food truck food and it has to look good too. Would I try it again? Yes.

I ordered a fish taco. This taco was delicious! For $5 I was expecting it to be bigger, but the taste made up for it. The fish was delicately seasoned, and sprinkled with tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. The exterior was flakey and crispy, and the interior was soft and moist. The taco shell itself was doughy and soft. Definitely not a meal on its own, but makes a great snack.

So it was my…read moregood fortune to spot a sign at the cute red Japadog truck proclaiming "Fluffy Melty Egg" alongside photos of three different types of - you guessed it - OMURICE. The guys manning the truck were super courteous, and I ordered the "regular" version with demiglace sauce. It turned out to be one of those rare times when I was not disappointed! The omu was as fluffy and tender as can be, and the hidden bed of ketchup- and onion- flavored fried rice was also delicious. While the demiglace was a tad too salty for my taste, I'm definitely going back for another round, next time with curry sauce for an extra $4. Big thumbs up!

With so many styles and flavours to sample, Japadog will keep you coming back for more. They have veggie options and non-veggie options. One of their sausages, Kurobuta Okonimi, is topped with fried cabbage, Japanese Traditional sauce, Japanese mayo, and Bonito flakes. They also have chicken hot dogs, wagyu beef ones, tonkatsu, kurobuta croquettes, poutine and many flavours of takoyaki. Another sausage popular among Japanese customers is the Kurobuta Oroshi which has grated radish, green onions and a special soy sauce on it. I picked option # 1, KUROBUTA TERIMAYO, which is a Kurobuta Pork sausage topped with fried onions, Teriyaki sauce, Japanese mayo and ample strips of seaweed sprinkled on top. It was so good.

She said the portion is big and for a meal that includes rice or noodle, veggies and a meat option is only $8. She was right. I couldn't go wrong for such a cheap price and especially it is located downtown. I looked at the food options and a lot of the menu items were spicy. Except for 2 dishes: honey pork and beef brisket. Yes I went with the honey pork. It was good and I guess because it was entirely meat I think I got less compared if I chose beef stir fried with veggies. Like I said it is an inexpensive meal. I am personally not a fan of Chinese food. I would say it was ok but I don't think I would have it often. The owner there was very friendly and nice. You also get free tea if you eat in at the food court. I mean you could get the free tea to go but I didn't bother. I have tea at work.

Black Pearl is one of the newer entrants to the food court, so I figured I'd give it a shot during one of my lunch hours. I ordered the Combo (7.95) and got the extra item (2.50) for the heck of it; I chose the chicken cutlet and the beef stew. The Chicken Cutlet was a bit on the oilier side, wasn't really that crispy, and mainly tasted of salt. Beef Stew was more flavourful, though was super duper fatty, even for brisket. There were a few bits of daikon strewn throughout. Overall, the food isn't the best, but you get what you pay for: a fairly large portion of warm food that while not the best quality, will definitely fill you.

I…read morefinally got the chance when they were offered at Black Sugar Coffee House (which seems like a super cute place with great service) in Port Moody. It's clear that I wasn't the only one wanting to get my hands on them as there was already a lineup when I got there at 10:30 am (the time they started selling them). They're $20 for 4 and the flavors this week were: Classic Cinnamon Sugar, Tiramisu, Banana Cream Pie (my favorite), and Apple Crumble. The donuts themselves were good, but what stood out to me were the fillings. Donut fillings can taste artificial and fake, but these fillings tasted so fresh and flavorful. I'm not even the biggest banana fan, but the Banana Cream Pie was excellent. Instead of artificial banana filling, it was filled with real bananas and tasted so clean. Likewise with the tiramisu - I'm not big on coffee flavors, but this Tiramisu was spot on. All in all, you can tell that these donuts are made with care and don't taste artificial. Definitely worth checking out, especially for their amazing fillings!
