The decor is beautiful and thoughtfully done--it honestly makes you want to just sit back and relax for a while. The owner was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers. We ordered a dragon fruit refresher, a mocha coffee, a lemon fruit pastry, and the Dubai chocolate cheesecake--and everything was amazing. The drinks were fresh and flavorful, and the desserts were on another level. The Dubai chocolate cheesecake especially was rich, unique, and seriously one of the best desserts I've had. Overall, this place checks every box: great vibes, great service, and incredible food and drinks. Definitely coming back again soon. Highly recommend!

I fell in love with Turkish coffee in Dubai several years ago when I was there on business. Unfortunately, there were few if any coffee houses in the Western Suburbs that served real Turkish coffee, until NOW! Shibam, brought back pleasant memories of my time in the UAE. From the moment we walked into the coffee house, it was spotless, and beautifully decorated similar to ones in Dubai. On both occasions I ordered the small pot Turkish coffee with a savory beef croissant and our absolute favorite Honeycomb bread. Needless to say, Shibam is now my go to coffee house, forget Starbucks!

It's the kind of place where you can tell they care about their coffee and the overall experience. I did try the Dubai brownie, and it wasn't my favorite, but everything else about the visit made up for it. The vibe of the shop feels like the perfect place to settle in and get some work done. I ended up getting a karak chai and a gulab jamun cheese cake to go for $15 including $2 tip. The chai was too hot to drink right away but I kept sneaking tiny sips until it cooled off. It wasn't great, but I thought it would be better once I could get a good swallow of it. Wrong. The tea was extremely bitter (a sign of over-boiling or using too much tea leaves) and I wasn't able to discern any spices. I tried to doctor it up once I got home, but nothing helped so it went down the drain. Blech. The cheese cake should have been delicious, but it was drying out from sitting in the case too long. It was very stiff, and the outside was turning to plastic. (Not literally, but it looked and felt like it.) I didn't finish that either. This place has a great menu, and I was initially looking forward to visiting more often once I start getting allergy shots at the clinic next door, but I will save my money and spend it at La Birria Loca down the block instead.

My husband and I don't really plan on eating here because we just come to use the machines, take a few classes, and sit in the hot tub (which is pretty amazing); however, we decided to give it a shot just to say we've eaten there. Life Cafe's philosophy is to provide clean, healthy food to the people using the facilities. That means no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial ingredients, organic and gluten-free options, and so forth. To my surprise, they actually do a good job of sticking with this philosophy and creating a yummy menu. They also make a variety of smoothies with fruits, juices, yogurt, and milk (almond milk available for $.50 more). Whey protein is added to nearly all smoothies but you can request VeganMax protein instead, which is Lifetime's vegan protein supplement. SWEET. (I hate whey.) My husband ordered the savory roast beef sandwich and I had a wild-caught grilled salmon salad with a smoothie. The food is made fresh behind the counter so there is a slight wait. However, you're able to sit at the table and hang out until they bring the food to you (you're given a number sign when you order). My husband's sandwich seemed kind of small; yet, my salad was huge. They were both REALLY GOOD -- much better than we had expected from a place inside a fitness center. My strawberry/banana/orange juice smoothie was good although I could taste the protein powder with every sip. I got used to it. I wish they had more veggie smoothies. The cafe has a good amount of tables, large windows, and shelves of products for sale. I pretty much ignore the walls of products, but the snack bars are cool. So what's the catch? Why the four stars? The food is EXPENSIVE! Kyle's sandwich and my salad were nearly $9 each. I realize that the quality is amazing (and heck, Lifetime's membership isn't cheap) but I just can't afford to pour more money into this place. I'm still glad we tried it!

Maybe it's all that serotonin straight from working out, the friendly employees, or the nice natural light that'll flood right into this cafe. I enjoy just sitting here. Smoothies are awesome. But over the past few months I've been there three times, and every time they are sold out of so many breads and pastries... Today I visited around 1 pm hoping to buy a baguette for dinner, and they were sold out. Since they're open until 9 pm, I asked if they were baking any more of them--but I was told once they're sold out, that's it for the day. So... The baguette shop was going to stay open for 8 more hours with no baguettes? Ce n'est pas bon... The pastries we bought today to enjoy onsite were very good--a strawberry mochi donut and a raspberry cream bite. The cream inside the raspberry treat was sublime. I ordered an iced mocha and couldn't finish the second half because it was too dense and sweet. My daughter was happier with her iced matcha. Folks have noted before that this place feels pricey, and that rings true. It feels almost punitively expensive here. All in all this is a pretty little place, but the supply chain clearly can't keep up and the prices are pretty high. It's probably best for early risers and folks looking for a splurge.

We had the coffee croissant donut, valentines day mochi donut, fruit tart and football creme donut (because Super Bowl!) It was pretty crowded for Friday morning, so tables were a little limited, but we managed to find a spot and there were plenty of pastries!

I stopped by when passing through the area for a coffee and to check out dt Bloomingdales new addition. I loved that this was located in an older house and had seating both inside and on the front patio. The gentleman working was filling a sub order before helping me. There was minimal signage posted so I got to ask about what they had to offer. I decided on an iced lavender latte and two donuts to go (biscoff & cannoli). Everything was ready in minutes which was great! My coffee was strong but had minimal lavender flavoring. The donuts were the real win! $2 for each, great flavor filling, and super soft! While the coffee wasn't my favorite in the area, I'd definitely come back to try other baked goods and the sub sandwiches!

The building itself appears to be a house and it gave me the sense of 'Welcome home, kick your feet up and relax.' There is an outdoor front patio and 2 small tables inside but it seems that for the most part people grab and go or sit at the patio. I was so happy to see that this place was crowded at 8:30am. This is a family owned business and it was great to see them doing well. Service was on the slower side, but again, it was busy and this spot is fairly new. I tried a cappuccino and a pistachio brioche donut. The cappuccino was the perfect temperate of hot but not overly hot. Quality wise I also enjoyed the flavors and texture of this cappuccino. That pistachio brioche donut?!?! The 1 I had must have been freshly baked bc goodness it was delicious and warm. HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH, full of flavor, light/delicate and just oh so goooood. I will say that I wish the filling was more generous but overall this was a very good donut.
