I sent a package through federal express paid over 60.00 to ship, bought the insurance on it and of course the item was broken and I had to pay the buyer right back 200.00. I did a clai. On the item and it's been 4 weeks and no check.. I called several time and email with finally them telling me I had to resubmit cause the claim went to another department .. so I did and now they're telling me it will be another 6 weeks before I get my refund ! Mind you the package had glass and very fragile.. and I told the worker if he needed to add anything more since it can break if not handle with care ! Very disappointed with FedEx delivery service. The tracking claimed there were multiple delivery attempts, but I was home all day and no one ever knocked on my door. I even signed the door tag requesting that the package be left on the doorstep, but the driver never returned I actually saw the delivery driver in the driveway and thought he would at least make an effort to confirm if I was the recipient or knock so my partner could open the door. Instead, he left without making any attempt at delivery. This was incredibly frustrating and feels careless. If FedEx is going to say they "attempted" delivery, they should actually make the attempt. read more

I shipped a package from Liverpool England to Los Angeles. The package was filled to the top with souvenirs purchased on vacation. The package was stuck in Memphis for a week. I was sent an email asking about composition of some lapel pins I listed and that someone will call me. I called them to avoid delay. I told them what I thought it was. I was called with the same question a couple of days later. While monitoring progress online, I saw the package leave and return to Memphis 3 times. I was called AGAIN about the composition of the pins! After telling them for the 3rd time, the next day I received an email saying it cleared and it would be delivered the next day. The next day it was still in Memphis. Eventually It arrived. When I received it, the box felt lite and the tape was partially lifted. When I opened it, it was half empty! Multiple items were removed/stolen! We started the process for a claim (a total joke! Their process is a complete runaround to get you to give up and go away!), after a few days I received an email and a letter requesting duty be paid for imported items. When I read the list of items they were charging for, it was exactly the items that were left over in the box after the theft. This tell me that the items were stolen while in FedEx possession before customs. Emailing the agent I talked to about the pins, she said she wasn't surprised. There's a lot theft in customs! WHAT?! It was either stolen by a FedEx employee or a customs agent. Either way once its shipped, its in the hands of FedEx. As mentioned FedEx customer support is the worst. It is really hard get a hold of anyone. If you do they stall and evade and delay. They are not taking responsibility for what happened in their custody. Package was set to arrive early on 8/17, then moved to 8/19 and now 8/20. The package was never scanned out of PA and never scanned into CA. Customer service is totally clueless and not helpful. You would think a company that specializes in logistics would have a better system set up to alleviate customers having to alter their schedule for packages that disappear. I recently sent a package by Federal Express that was lost at one of their own processing stations. This Yelp posting was done because lost delivery appears to be a disappointing trend at FedEx as experienced not only by myself, but also among many other people I know. It took literally hours to access a person at FedEx who explained the following: 1) Use a box and overnight delivery when shipping with FedEx. Most lost and damaged deliveries occur with ground shipping. However, FedEx does not guarantee overnight delivery. 2) A box is less likely to be damaged by the processing machines. Items that are damaged are often trashed because delivery people do not want to be blamed for a damaged package. 3) Immediately report a delivery that does not arrive on time. 4) Federal Express does not insure packages; you need to declare a value and pay extra. For the second time, our package was delivered to the wrong address. Our address is clearly marked on the front of the house and painted on the curb. After a long and frustrating conversation with FedEx, I decided to walk through the neighborhood to check. Lo and behold, it was dropped behind the front gate of my neighbors house, not "Left at front door" as the delivery confirmation indicated. Another time before this, FedEx marked a package as delivered when it was not. When I called FedEx, they said it was marked delivered by accident and I got the package the following day. FedEx is of no help at all to the consumer. They expect us to do the leg work when packages are incorrectly delivered or missing. The only, repeated response I received from a customer service rep was to contact the shipper to open an investigation. The rep also refused to let me speak with a manager or even provide a general customer service email address. This was after I explained that no motion or video was detected or captured on my porch, at the front door at 2:31PM PT 08/24/2022 when they said it was delivered. I placed this order so I could get it by this weekend, at the latest. I have to wait another 1-2 weeks now to get an order replaced which is too late. I actually got a hold of someone at the main office after being hung up on several times. Some one called me back the next day and said the delivery driver said "I moved". I did not move. How in the world would anyone even know that? So I said then why did he say it was delivered. He said he would yell at him at it would be delivered today. He seemed very flakey. I would give Fedex no stars of I could. This company must be ran by the biggest morons on this earth. My husband ordered something from Spectrum 7 days ago. FedEx stated that the package would be delivered on Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Thursday, then Friday and Saturday. We live in a gated community, so there would be no way of receiving the package unless the driver informed us that he was on here. Why didn't anyone call us?? Why didn't their office let us know that he was on his s way? This is a horrible way to run a business. All they have done is waste our time for 7 days. Now, today, we received another email stating that it was put for delivery early this morning. That was a lie!! We waited 5 hours today for the driver to come. No one came. We have called Fedex every day, and we always get the same runaround. Obviously tury do jot cate about their customers. Avoid this company? It's almost silly to write this review, given the horror stories already posted by other reviewers. The doorbell rang. I opened the door. The FEDEX driver said that he needed to "see your ID." Fine. No problem. I stepped inside, opened my desk drawer and took my passport from the drawer. I stepped back outside and showed my VALID UNITED STATES PASSPORT to the FEDEX driver. His response? "Naw... we don't take that ID. We only take California Driver's Licenses." I told him that I didn't have a license available right then, and BTW, there are people who don't drive, for a variety of reasons. His response? Wait for it... "Lady, I don't make the rules. I only follow them. No driver's license, no delivery." I suppose the biggest problem with FEDEX is that it's established itself as a near monopoly. Since there's no upstart business trying to surpass them, people keep using FEDEX, despite hideous service and worse attitudes. read more

Multiple times now (4 at least) our driver comes to the door (without the item) rings the door bell, runs to his truck and books it down the street. I suspected this was happening as the first 2 times I was home (scheduled to be there, away from work to get my shipment) and when I would get to the door, no one was there. 5 minutes later I would receive a text from Fed Ex stating that the driver attempted to deliver but no one was home. The 3rd time I watched him pull up out front of the house and before I could leave the bedroom on my way to the front door heard (then watched) him pull away. I contacted Fed Ex customer service, but that is a freaking joke. It just happened again today. I have contacted the vendor, let them know I will be canceling my delivery membership with them unless they can offer another carrier. I will also not be accepting the current shipment. Trying to get ahold of someone in customer service (it's not the reps fault, it's the way Fed Ex is managed) that can actually help is IMPOSSIBLE. They just repeat the same thing over and over. No one ever calls you back, nor does anyone follow up to the tracking number they give you. read more

My experience with Federal Express is they pick up the package from the vendor and post a delivery date on-line. Then they take the package almost to the delivery point but, instead of completing the delivery, they leave the package in some random depot for a couple of days. It's very frustrating to see your package is scheduled for delivery by the end of day and then, a few hours later, to see it's been dumped and won't be delivered for another two or more days. A FedEx package was undeliverable at my residence due to needing a signature. So a tag was left with the address and hours of operation for the FedEx center, but the time available for pickup was illegible. No phone number was included, so I had to search the internet to find it, so that I could confirm when the package was available for pickup. Apparently, the company will try to deliver for 3 consecutive days. If unsuccessful, they will stop delivery, and the package will be available for pickup only. But if it's not picked up in a couple of days, it will be sent back. When I was finally able to pick it up, I waited in line for 15-20 minutes, as there was only one employee assisting customers. She was very sweet and helpful, but there was only so much that she could do in a timely manner, since the place was busy. Once attended to, she quickly got my package and I was on my way. I don't often get packages via FedEx, but this experience would make me think twice about using their services. read more

They should change their name from "Federal Express" to "Optional Express". Because when it comes to providing you service, they consider it optional. They charged me $10 to open the account, got the address wrong, failed to correct the address after being told twice, failed to deliver shipping envelopes, and failed to show up for a scheduled pickup at an office in a major office building that was open all day. They also have a phone tree when you call, which is annoying. The only way they could make their service any worse would be to put their call center in China. Maybe one of their MBA's will think of that one day soon. When it comes to providing overnight service, this company "absolutely, positively" doesn't care. read more

What has happened to FedEx. My annual bonus check was sent from Houston to Culver City on December 18th. I did not get the envelope until after the first of the year. Our office was only closed on Christmas and New Years but there were "closed" stickers all over the envelope as if they attempted a delivery. I don't think so. Today I received a package late again. It was supposed to arrive yesterday from Amazon and the tracking said attempted delivery. No it was not attempted because our office was open all day. This about Federal Express in general. If there were no stars this company would get a negative 5. I sent Federal Express the following: "This is the last time I will use a vendor who uses Federal Express. Because a vendor was late in getting me a tracking number I was unable to insure someone would be home. I received a door tag. I called Federal Express and set up a reroute and was assured that this was possible. I also included the reroute information on the doortag. The driver ignored the reroute order. I have no way to get my package other than skip work. The other choice I have is to let the package go back to the vendor and pray I am not out $40 for the returned item. Federal Express has never been helpful. Packages have been left at my door unattended and been ransacked as a result in the past. I have also had items "rerouted" to addresses they were not addressed to. Now I have this new doortag issue. No more. No federal express ever. I will be contacting the vendor to let them know that I will not be using their services due to their choice of Federal Express and I will be posting this issue on Yelp." To make matters worse, I called the vendor to reroute the item and they said that Federal Express would not let them reroute. Federal Express agents will tell you anything whether it is true or not. Shipper beware and use a vendor who does not use Federal Express. UPDATE: Packages going from Woodland Hills to Sherman Oaks get a ride to Tennessee before coming back to California for distribution to Sherman Oaks. The track was Woodland Hills to North Hills to Memphis TN, back to North Hills then to some business in North Hills that was not on the address label when they finally decided to try delivering it to....Sherman Oaks. And only 5 hours late. Wasted fuel and wasted time. Oh...and it wasn't just one package that was 5 hours late. There were six from all over that were 5 hours late. I'm advising our local clients to use USPS. It's at least direct. read more

How is Fed Ex still in business??? Their drivers service leaves a little to be desired. My IKEA delivery, five large boxes was delivered in three increments. Each time the driver set it by the front door and did not even knock to let me know that a package, the last delivery they snuck in because I had the window open by the front door waiting to hear them.
