My wife asked me to pick up a few things from Walmart after work and at first I was reluctant, I hate grocery shopping. However she ordered them online and all I had to do was park! I was quickly greeted by a young lady named Liza, since it was my first time doing this I had a few questions and she was extremely knowledgeable and patient with me despite being a bit busy. Her customer service was excellent and I was out of the parking lot in five minutes and on my way home! Will definitely be using this service again. read more

I ordered something at Walmart.com and had it shipped to the store for the free shipping. It is not something that the local store stocks regularly and was only available online. I had to wait at the pickup desk about 15 minutes for someone to show up. It is near the door greeter and she was kind enough to look for someone to help me. She had to call for the associate that works at the pickup desk three times before someone finally showed up. After that, it went pretty smoothly. They should not offer local pickup if they don't have the people to man the desk. It is supposed to be a convenience, but it winds up being more of a hassle than it is worth. read more

Normally I hate Walmart and cuss under my breath every time I'm there how ever this is the only Walmart where I actually am okay with going to. There are many things that the employees have no control over however I called about a return and got the nicest employee ever! She was super sweet and helpful and actually made my day. I've been all over the country and this Walmart is hands down the worst one I have ever set foot in. It's dirty. Hardly has anything. The lighting is horrid and the atmosphere is just depressing. I think they went to the underworld to find employees. The people that work at this Walmart are clueless to even the simplest of questions. Another gripe I have with this location is that even with the horde of undead workers they have, it takes forever to checkout! In the end I will not offer any of my business to this portal to hades. First of all, let me start by saying that I am NOT a regular Walmart shopper AT ALL for many reasons, yet this location has pleasantly surprised me numerous times. I'm hesitant to rate it well since it's the gem among other Wallyworld locations that I avoid unless HEB or Target is closed. This Helotes Walmart has a problem with stocking selves consistently. Many times you have to wait days until the item is re-stocked.

I am a fan of this Walmart! Normally i'm a target person, but this is a very clean and well kept location. This walmart also has a decent selection of meats that are trustworthy. There are a lot of helpers walking around and man were they SAWEET to deal with. I recommend this location over the De Zavala location. read more

I went to the Walmart in Helotes to have a new battery put in my vehicle! I went on a Saturday and did get there when they opened to be first in line. Their automotive department gets very busy so get there early! I walked around the store while I waited and this location is very clean, unlike some locations in San Antonio. They did a great job and the employees where very helpful and friendly! read more

One of the newest Walmart's to crop up out of the ground for this area. It was a fight for the Walmart Corporation..... Many locals was against it, but with compromises they were added to the sky line. Its about 2/3 the size of a Super Center, but fits well for the area. I haven't notices any major effects to the traffic on Bandera Rd. It is very clean and well stocked. While you wont find as many varieties of each item as you would in the Super Centers they still stock the most common brands and sizes. The only thing at this point that I would like to see improved is the availability of an associates in the very early AM. The ONLY lines open is the SELF check out...While I am a fan of the self check out it is still needed from time to time to request assistance from an associate. For example this morning I bought a box of Allergy medicine and the scale in the bagging area that reads the weight to determine if you put the correct item in the bagging area that you scanned gave me problems because the box weighs grams; it didn't read any weight change so it keep asking me to put the item in the bagging area.....ummmmm I did! So, I had to walk around the store looking for someone to help me. Several couldn't because they "don't work up there". Overall it is nice to have a smaller Walmart in an area that still fights to keep the "small' town feeling just outside the "big" town! read more

One of the cleaniest and most quite Walmarts I've ever been in. The parking lot is never half full so finding parking is always an ease. There's never a wait to pay and they have almost a dozen self service pay stations. It's a smaller store than most so it kinda creates a local feel and not a "super" store atmosphere. The major con I have with this store is their lack of variety and selections....particulary in the produce section. I've gone on several occasions and there's nothing left. It's the oddest sight to walk into the produce section and only see 5/6 pints of strawberries or only a few over riped bananas. The manager of that department needs to do a better job keeping the section stocked or rotating the old with the new. read more

Very clean store - nicely laid out. Love it. BUT the auto center really needs to get organized with some experienced cashiers as well as an Asst. Mgr. He seemed concerned about what he was doing rather than paying any attention to the customers standin there waiting for different things. I was told 40min for my oil change - It was 1.5 hours. There was oil all over my handle of the driver door, my steering wheel, and hood. When I brought to their attention, I was handed a wet rag and dry rag to clean it myself after they already knew I was upset. This is the 3rd time I've had my oil changed there. 1st time was great, 2nd time was an issue of a longer wait than expected again. 3rd time today was awful. Regardless of the auto center, I love the feel, the cleanliness and lack of mess in the aisles. Great city with high standards. read more

The Fine men that work at the Auto Center are absolutely amazing! They are both professional and have great personalities! They were easily willing to check my tire pressure and they did it so quick! If you ever need work done, I recommend these guys! This has been the second time I've gone and I am very pleased! Walmart should be lucky to have workers like these! read more

I came here around 9:30 pm on a Sunday night. It was really quiet and the store was really well kept. Everyone has seen the "people of WalMart" and there were none in sight here! I even had my phone ready just in case I caught a moment. I was actually pleasantly disappointed. This was definitely a very well laid out and clean WalMart. I bought 2 boxes of holiday dinnerware. When I got home 1 of the bowls was broken. I really needed all the dinnerware so I took the box back with the one broken bowl back. Hoping to get another bowl or at least a small discount on 1 of the boxes. I spoke with Alexeandria. She told me I had to bring all the dishes back and she could refund my money but that's it. I explained that I needed the dishes for a holiday party. She said that's all she could do. I have never heard of a place not being able to discount something if it is broken. 3 Hours to Change 1 tire and blame the customer... If I could give the Walmart Tire & Lube no stars I would. I came in at 7:30, with one person ahead of me (who was getting an oil change), went in, bought 1 tire to replace one that had blown, sat down and began to try my patience. At about 9:45, I asked how much longer it would take, the cashier went to go check, returned and said not that long. The mechanic came in about a minute after her and said it took him 30 minutes just to find the old tire that I wanted them to dispose of and it was MY fault for not telling him it was in the trunk (I drive a sedan... where else would it be the backseat?!? that is when I don't keep my old tires strapped to the roof. He should know where tires are kept as a mechanic & with such a small car, even if that excuse was believable, why would it take him 30 mins to find?!?) At about 10:15 my car was ready and the poor schmuck that came in for the oil change (which he told me was about 7:00) was still waiting when I left... read more

This place constantly has expired food shelved. Each time I bring it to the attention of a manager, they seem unchanged. Seriously. Today was no exception. Several dairy Items expired 4 days ago. The location in emergency situations is worth a star. The fact that it's rarely too busy (could be due to their expired shelving) is worth another star. Come on, Wally World. Second time I've driven across town to come to this location because it shows they have something, using the online "in-store locator" lookup on Walmart.com, that they do not have. When I approached an employee in the department where the item was located, she immediately said "we don't have it" without even attempting to look. I politely pointed out that it showed stock availability in the Walmart app then all of a sudden she told me it could be in the Clearance area. I asked where that was and she walked me over and said if i didn't see it there (which that Clearance area is a cluster f*@& of stuff just strewn all over the place) it might've been stolen. It amazes me that all these retailers can't figure out why Amazon is taking them out left and right and the scarier thought is that until now, we've had to rely on Amazon for everything except groceries (unless they were PrimeNow eligible). This place is consistently awful. I get prescriptions filled here monthly because of my insurance. They are so bad it's funny. My insurance will pay for my allergy medications, which is not the norm. One day the person handing me the medications tried to charge me. I asked why and she says "well most insurance does not pay for this type of medicine". What! Do not take your car to This store. Took a 75 nova in to get tires. Was told an hour and a half. 4 hours later still not done. Dude told me his tools were no good? What tools ? wanted to see manager and got blown off. Had to leave car overnight and got a call the next day still not ready? I had to tell them to put my old tires back on so i could get car back. I shop there quite often for the convenience, just around the corner. But I have returned produce there twice. Spoke to a manager the last time.
