Came in today for some printing of important documents. I never have a working printer at home - so I end up coming here every once in a while. Printing and faxing isn't much cost at all - there is a get around even if you don't want to pay the extra couple dollars for behind the counter service - you email and get a bounceback code for self print. Faxing is a couple dollars - a little more if it isn't local. This is in Fruitvale shopping center. Popeyes very near by. Friendly workers here - I think I remember at least two. Very fast service and full of people needing this or that. read more

Never thought I'd leave a review for fedex but have to say that all my experiences here are not only great, but a highlight of my day. Everyone here is super friendly, down to earth and knowledgeable. Really loved working on a wedding project with the manager Loren in particular the last time I was there. After paying the Comcast/Xfinity bill, my husband reminded me we needed a cardboard box to ship two items. This Fed-Ex store is next door to Comcast. Okay, it's a quick pit stop to purchase the box. Sales associate was prompt in assisting me. I gave her an approximate dimension of 5x7 and 3 inches in height. She did not a box in that dimension, but she showed me a small cardboard box close to what I was searching for. Perfect! I purchased it and was done in less than five minutes. Another 'too-big-to-care' company. This is why supporting local businesses instead of giant corporations is so important. I keep receiving packages for a person at another similar, but different address, delivered by lazy incompetents that can't be bothered to spend two seconds to verify an address before leaving a package at someone's door. I've had this problem with both UPS and Fed Ex, and have tried repeatedly to contact both organizations, and there is no way to get in touch with a human being at either one. They. Just. Don't. Care. I hope the recipient expecting these packages is more successful than I have been in getting a hold of these awful, careless shipping companies, but I doubt it, because the wrong deliveries keep happening. Please use DHL, good old USPS, or other outfits that aren't this uncaring, lazy, and unresponsive. read more

My printer wasnt working so I stopped here to print a few pages. The security at the door opened the door as people walked in. There were about 3 people infront of me when they opened. The person at the register did let us know she would be with us shortly. When it was my turn I told the lady I needed to print she gave me card and told me to follow the directions that was it. It would be nice to have something posted for those who need to print so they dont have to wait in line. It's about 15 cent plus tax which isn't bad. ***HUGE RED FLAG WARNING*** EMPLOYEES AT THIS LOCATION STEAL PACKAGES. I ordered a new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 on Samsung's website financed through a new Verizon account. It was way too much phone for me and very bulky so I knew right away I wanted to return it. I boxed it up in it's original packaging with the packing slip Samsung sent me and I went to the FedEx Office center at E 9th St. and Fruitvale Ave. and this is where I made a mistake - instead of placing the package on the scale, watching the agent scan the package and getting a receipt, I handed it to her because she was busy helping someone else and asked if I was just dropping off so I gave it to her and walked out wrongly assuming it would make it to Samsung returns in TX intact.  When the package was received by Samsung they emailed me a video of someone in their receiving dept. opening an empty box containing only the packing slip and no phone.  I checked the digital receipt in the FedEx app and the package was scanned in weighing 0.3 lbs and a mobile phone, especially this particular phone and it's packaging, weighed a lot more than 0.3 lbs. and that's how I know it was the employee at the FedEx Office store who stole the phone and then scanned in an empty box. Now Samsung says there is nothing they can do and rightly so, they sent me the merchandise and received an empty box in return.  FedEx has denied 2 separate claims stating, "Under the terms governing this shipment, FedEx does not accept liability under the Return Options program." Apparently the Return Option program allows their agents to steal phones. I missed that in the small print. I am now on the hook to Verizon for a $2100 phone plus $100/month in service for a device I no longer have and the only thing I did wrong was trust that the employee at FedEx would do her job and not rip off their customers. Do they not run background checks on the criminals they hire?? I'd like to know the vetting process, as I am sure I'm not the only person this has happened to.  I have contacted Oakland PD, the BBB, local news organizations and other consumer advocacy agencies and I will be posting this experience on every social media platform and I will not rest until I am compensated by FedEx for the blatant property theft and improper treatment by the company. They stole from me. They need to be held accountable and I thoroughly hope that justice is served and the thief is fired and arrested for grand theft. read more

Whenever I have to use FedEx, I go to this one. Why? Firstly, free and plentiful parking, secondly, excellent service, spotless store, skilled packers especially for computer equipment. And thirdly, you can trust FedEx to get your shipment where it needs to go, on time and for a decent price. No matter what city I travel to, I use FedEx printing services to print and sort materials for meetings. They box it up, I just stroll in like a boss and sweep into the meeting like I have minions in my entourage. Secretly, I do! I just pay FedEx to be my minions and they never disappoint. They have helped me out more than once. I especially love the Fruitvale Store because they are so polite, professional and reliable. You can't go wrong. If you ship things here and want a receipt (in case there are issues with your delivery), please avoid this location. I always grab a receipt in case I'm returning something and the Vendor claims it wasn't received, but it's really hard to get a receipt here given the location is understaffed and they always seem to be preoccupied for lengthy times with other customers. I've even come 10 minutes before close and the doors were locked and although they took the package, they claimed they wouldn't get me a receipt since they shut the systems down for the day. Now, I end up taking a photo of the package with the tracking number and the store in the background to hopefully prove they received the package since my photos have a time stamp and geolocation. It's the best I can do if I have to come here when the staff fails to do their job. read more

So I walk into this FedEx and it's packed! About five people are standing in line (and continuing to grow as I'm waiting) and there was only one employee. Really? So... let me get this straight-- in the middle of the day, during errand rush hour, 4:22pm to be thorough, you all decide to staff your store with only one person? Ummmm... that's tough. The poor young person behind the counter was gracious and offered decent customer service, but it was ridiculous that they were the only one working. But the fault of the staff member, but that's a store management issue. Of course some folks could've called off, but geesh... let's get some coverage. Since there was only one person working, people were stressed because they had to mail packages by 5 and so forth. Needless to say, the energy of the store was tense and awkward. Nonetheless, I made it through because I asked if the person working could toggle between customers and maybe sign onto another register. Let's multitask FedEx employee. It all worked out, and I made it out alive, but they definitely need to staff this store better. This isn't my first understaffed rodeo with this location. It appears that they have a high employee turnover rate, as I always see new people, and they clearly don't have enough staff. Maybe they should invest in some staffing professional development. They just may benefit from it, cause they must do a bit better. It deserves a 2 1/2 star rating, but I bumped it to 3 stars because the employee was a nice guy and was doing his best. The staff has turned over a few times but they continue to hire people who are knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Never again. There is a FedEx in Downtown Oakland that's really nice but has bad parking. There is a FedEx in Alameda on Webster that's really nice and has parking. In fact, if you call ahead to Alameda, they usually have your stuff ready ahead of time or can get it to you quickly. Then there's this FedEx. Where my basic orders of 21 6-page, double-sided, black and white, standard packets weren't ready at all. And when they did print it, it was printed wrong, but I just took it. It would have been faster for me to use their self-service, but by the time I realized that, it was kind of too late. ugh. read more

Went in a week ago because I'm getting my passport rush renewed through FedEx's partnership with Rushmypassport.com. I needed to print out all of my documents, get a new passport photo and put together the entire application packet to send out. The employees were extremely helpful and patient and made sure that everything got sent out by the 3 pm deadline. Huge shout out to Courtne and Kenya, thank you so much! Horrible customer service. Came in today with my baby, there was no line. A black petite girl was at the front desk and I told her that I was here to pick up a package. She told me to hold on while she finish whatever she was doing. Asked me if I was picking up a box or package. I would not know what form the package would come in but I said box. She glanced around the shelf then asked for the tracking number to lookup on her computer. Tells me my order is not held at this store and told me to call the 800 number. I told her I already called and both the automatic system and representative says to pick up at this store. She says, "well I already looked and it's not here". I called the 800 number again and while on hold and strolling my baby behind the counter; I see my package on the shelf. I tell the same girl that my package is there and she just ignores me and continues to help another customer who also hinted her that I needed her assistance. She continues to ignore me. It wasn't til the store manager walks up to the counter and I literally had to stop him and tell him I see my package on the shelf! Just horrible service. She did not apologize or nothing. They need to hire new workers whose not mad at the whole world. read more

This place is trash. My mom went to get a copy of her ID and a bill "proof of address" and was charged $20.00 by the rude woman at the cash register. The woman seemed more upset that my mom didn't know how to use a copy machine which is beyond ridiculous. This happened today, October 1st! Imagine if someone treated your mother this way? Oh and it gets even better! This woman REFUSED to print a receipt for my mother for the $20.00 she charged her! The security had to step in and print it! Oh and even better! Do not go to this store , you will be better off at another location . The staff is not friendly , does not seem to want to help anyone and just plain rude . No one greets you when you walk in or offers help. If you ask for help, the staff is annoyed and rude . While I was in there they were rude to just about every person that walked in. Dropped off a package and asked for a receipt. Yasmin gave me what I THOUGHT was a receipt and when I got halfway home I realized it was just a slip with the tracking number. Definitely not proof that I dropped it off. I turned around and went back and she said that she couldn't reprint a receipt, I needed to ask for it at the time (I did) and if I didn't ask for a receipt then why did she give me this slip? I always, always ask for a receipt for my records but I stupidly didn't check to see if what she gave me was a receipt. She claimed the package had been scanned and picked up, however the tracking was not found in the system. She then claimed she could not reprint a receipt which I've had retail companies do many times before, it seems odd that FedEx cannot fulfill that request since they are a printing, document and delivery company. Unfortunately I'm sure I will need to use FedEx in the future for returns but I won't use this location again. The location in Alameda is cleaner, larger and the associates are more pleasant. And they always provide a real receipt. read more

PLEASE READ - UNLESS YOU ARE BILL GATES I have used Fed Ex Print Centers many times in the past, and pleased with the service. Prior to Oakland I used the San Leandro location on Marina Dr to print from a USB stick and make copies. I had no issues, the staff was knowledgable, accessible & friendly. So I thought nothing of using Fed Ex again while in Oakland, matter of fact I was overjoyed when I googled a location on Sunday afternoon, the 49ers were pathetic and I was looking for any excuse to quit watching. According to the Fed Ex website the Ship location on Pardee was open until 5pm It was a little over a mile away, a walk I could do with the dogs and make in time. We get there and the place is closed!!!! Not a soul around and sign on the door says SUNDAY: CLOSED. Okay...... Next day, Monday, I get a late phone call - I need to email documents on my USB stick to my insurance company and they must be there today!!! I head to the Fed Ex Print Center at 3070 E. 9th Ave. in Oakland. There is a wait for a PC, because at this location you can sit in a chair in front of the PC and hold it until your friend arrives??? 30 minutes later. Perfectly okay one of the staff tells me. I finally get a PC and sit down to email this file. Insert USB stick, open Mozilla, log in to email and begin process. Only to get a message that Mozilla is out of date. To continue I need to download new version?!?!?! So I close Mozilla open Explorer and same thing happens!!! I start to download current version of Explorer. This thing is loading SLOWLY while my credit card is being charged. I'M THINKING THIS IS NOT RIGHT. I'M BEING CHARGED TO UPDATE SOFTWARE THAT WILL BE DELETED WHEN I LOG OUT? SOMEONE HAS A SCAM GOING, AND CAN THIS EVRN BE LEGAL? I ask a staff person if this was correct. They're not sure. They'll ask another person. No one comes back so I speak loudly across to the counter asking if this is right? They respond yes, that is how Fed Ex operates. The guy sitting next to me is leaving, he said same thing happened with him. HE JUST PAID OVER $42 TO DOWNLOAD AND EMAIL 2 DOCUMENTS. IM NOT PAYING THAT. ALMOST $10 HAS ALREADY BEEN CHARGED TO UPDATE THIER SOFTWARE. I ask for a rebound. Nope. I email fed ex. I get replies but no actions, always being told I have wrong department. I'VE SPENT A COUPLE HOURS TO GET LESS THAN $10 BACK??? Not worth it. I'll let others on YELP know the game. Ps. The OFFICE DEPOT across the parking lot took my stick and emailed the file to me in less that 5 MINUTES. TOTAL COST FROM OFFICE DEPOT - $0 They wouldn't accept a penny. Marvin was incredibly helpful and attentive (and easy on the eyes) and made sure my package would get where it needed to go in plenty of time.
