    Busted open box on delivery,

    Update. finally received my shipment of mostly dead fish. The box was beat to hell. Driver wouldn't let me refuse the shipment, because I opened the box... SMH , the box was already busted open and had been retapped. I couldn't leave zero stars, smh. overnight delivery of LIVE FISH was supposed to be delivered on Tuesday, September 24 before 12:00 p.m. The driver was in my driveway at 1:00 for 5 minutes, then was leaving. when I stopped her she said my shipment wasn't on her truck, but will probably be on another truck later. I did a tracking later and it stated that I wasn't home, and the package would be delivered on Wednesday, September 25 before noon. so, At 12:12 p.m. I checked the tracking and now it is delayed because of "incorrect address" . How did the driver find me on Tuesday? Again, I was here all day and i talked to 1 of the drivers . the package is supposed to be delivered on Thursday, September 26 now, before 12:00 p.m. This is not overnight. The package is labeled "LIVE FISH" , smh. I bet they are all DEAD by now. Way to go FEDex. Hopefully someday you can get good employees that will actually do their job instead of just clicking buttons on a tablet.

    Can't get a representative on phone unless you have a tracking number. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

    I'm moving my 88-yr-old grandmother cross country and got an estimate from Petra Pro for $3435…read more Despite specifically asking the salesperson how to avoid the estimate raising on pickup (I had seen some negative reviews), our estimate was raised by almost $2500 as soon as the movers arrived for pickup. They said the new price would be worst-case scenario - "the highest it should be." Once the truck was packed, the cost was raised again to $7100, over DOUBLE our original estimate. The foreman agreed with us that the estimating process that the company uses is not accurate or reliable. Our salesperson vastly underestimated the cubic feet based on the items we listed. We felt trapped because the items were already loaded & we couldn't rearrange travel/moving schedules, so we had no other option but to sign the new contract. We were told that the delivery time would be up to 10 days. It has now been 2 weeks. Since then, we have called Petra everyday for a delivery date and to discuss the additional costs, and receive no response or are told that we'll receive a call back once they "check out the situation". We shouldn't be financially responsible for misleading estimates and sales tactics. Finally today we received a delivery date, but it will not be confirmed by the foreman until the day before. We still have not been able to get any answer about the costs that were incurred from management. This needs to be resolved by the delivery date on Thursday, but today came and went with a guarantee that we'd be called in a few hours and then radio silence. We are hoping for a resolution but based on our experience would not recommend this company to anyone.

I recommend that anyone considering this company read the owner's replies to poor Yelp reviews. You can see the amount of respect he has for customers. I reached out to Journeyman in a pinch on a Friday afternoon, after the moving company I had scheduled with goofed up their schedule and texted that they had no crew on Saturday to unload the 2 28' ABF trailers that were sitting in my driveway. The salesman said he had a crew in my area he could reach out to, and he said he would call me back. He called back shortly and let me know that they were available on Friday; in fact they'd had a cancellation in the area. Perfect! 3 guys showed up, and they worked their tails off. They unloaded 2 full trailers in about 5 hours. They even helped to move a refrigerator out of the house into the garage, and they assisted with hooking up the washer and dryer. Great crew. The problem came when it was time to pay. The owner said that I owed him 2 hours of travel time. I told him that I was not told about any travel time. I pulled up the quote from their text (picture attached; my personal info redacted by AI, no other changes made) where it shows estimated travel time of 0 hours. I sent a screenshot of that to the owner. He said "I don't know what you're trying to show me." I refused to pay for the travel time, and he did not charge me. However, he charged me a 4% credit card fee. That seemed high, so I researched it. Kentucky state law mandates a limit of 3% to any card processing fee passed on to a customer. I texted him and asked for a refund. He did so, with a screenshot of the refund. He did not apologize or have anything to say. Also, Kentucky state law mandates that the fee be disclosed on the final receipt. My receipt does not reflect that charge. I've filed a complaint with the Kentucky Attorney General for both of these items, which are a flagrant violation of state law. At the end of the day, the job got done. The crew was great, and they came through on short notice. Just keep an eye on your charges if you go with Journeyman, and know your rights.
