Worst haircut and done on purpose by a jealous little Frenchman named Jonathan. Awful short thin bangs when I asked for longer curtain bangs- shredded the front sides of my hair so it looks fuzzy. Absolutely awful. I had to tell him he was hurting me pulling on the sides of my hair so hard when he was shredding it. I was still gracious enough to tip and get out of there quickly hoping it was not as bad as I thought. I think I was in shock that such a professional place could hire someone so petty and unprofessional. Obviously I upset Jonathan talking about how great Robert is. They don't allow you to cancel the subscription until you've had three orders; however, if you return the products at your expense you will be refunded and your subscription cancelled. The system is needlessly elaborate and, quite frankly, both time-consuming and sort of nuts. I feel as though I'm being held hostage by a shampoo company! My wife and I sent our daughter to the salon today. We gave her money to get her eyebrows done. Nothing more. The stylist upsold / pressured her to get uneeded services, essentially taking advantage of a young girl. We will NEVER send our daugter back, nor will my wife ever go there. I'll be magnanimous and give three stars, averaging the quality of the color by Jacklyn, a 4, and the overall customer service, a 2 (I am being very generous). After having had my head washed with cold water, saying that of all the sinks (which were free at that moment) the one that I was brought to was not functioning well, the shampoo lady informs me that blowout is not included and I get served with a hair dryer and a brush. Well, I said, please include the blowout, I'll pay for it. No, said the young lady who did my shampoo, but I can ask. I am then left alone getting cold with wet hair for full five minutes. My colorist didn't even come to check how the color went. I then ask to speak to her. She comes, apologizes that the service is not included and, to my request to have a proper blowout, to be added to my bill, she replies that the service hadn't been scheduled so, no, the "best" that she can do is to have someone quickly blow my hair. I then have the same shampoo lady come and listlessly dry my hair with her hands, no brush. The result is that I look like I just woke up after a rough night and I am now going to need another hair salon to do a proper job. I then speak with the manager, who condescendingly repeats me the same story, basically saying that I should have gotten a master degree in their website, navigated all of the pages and then I would have discovered that the blowout was not included. To my reiterated request to have a blowout and that I would obviously pay for, it, she repeated the same old story that I hadn't made any appointment. What to say.... very poor service for a place with that level of ambitions. Probably they count on a traveling, non-returning clientele, given the fact that they are located in a hotel. With their poor customer care skills, they probably won't have many returning clients. read more

The experience was ok, the place is known for catering to old rich ladies, so I wasn't expecting trendy. I heard their coloring work was good and I haven't done anything to my hair in two years so I gave it a try. It was not worth it. First, colorist looked at the picture I brought and pointed at the most basic one saying "this is realistic for you" to which I didn't get it probably meant that's all she could realistically do (because what else would realistic for me mean? I had pink hair lady!). Then she informs me that the coloring appointment doesn't include blowout, and if I want that service only a senior can do it... for $150!!! )on top of the $400 color)!! To which I (stupidly) agreed because how else will I see the result? During the blowout I could tell the highlights were minimally noticeable but the lady already move on and only checked back for a minute, uncomfortably, when the "senior" dude that was doing the blowout called her... I should have said something then but this was my first outing after a medical concern and I didn't have the energy to fight. Even when I paid the bill I should have complained. The highlights are unnoticeable, the blowout was nice but I can do the same at home with my Dyson blow drier... My advice, don't waste your money here. read more

Had an absolutely fantastic experience at Frederic Fekkai at the Mark! I was coming to them as a first time client in dire need of a cut & softening/toning of overdone highlights that had been recently placed at another salon. I had a pre-appointment complimentary color consultation with Jaclyn & she outlined a plan to tone my highlights down as well as maintain my color going forward. She was also able to work me into her schedule for the following week when I had a cut already scheduled with Kevin. And as for the cut...Wow!! Kevin is absolutely amazing & took his time assessing my hair shape and texture, and then gave me one of the best haircuts I have EVER had. He was able to translate exactly what I was looking for into reality (which is a rare feat as we all know) & gave me a cut with beautiful long layers. Jaclyn's color came out beautifully as well! The entire experience was wonderful & all the staff were so lovely and professional....I am SO thrilled to have found the Fekkai salon & cannot recommend them highly enough! read more

The place has gone of the deep end with Covid. They won't give you any water. Even if you are there for hours and your own water ran out. You can't blow out your own hair after a $600 coloring service to see what it looks like and have to leave the salon wet. In the winter. The alternative is scheduling a blowout for another $100+ with a separate stylist. For the amount of money they charge, and the amount of money I have spent there over the years, I would have expected a higher level of customer service. Covid or otherwise. The salon has a decidedly upscale feel with lots of natural light. Reception staff is friendly and there is no upselling or pressure to purchase products. I've been leveraging the wonderful Fekkai hair model program for years. I'd say I've been 8-10 times (they invite me!) and tonight was nothing short of amazing. Bailey was not only warm and professional, she was extremely talented and gave me the best cut of my life. She listened to exactly what I wanted/needed and worked with my expectations.
