    Rotten wood

If I could give 0 stars I would. This company is crap do not buy from them! They installed my patio door 7 years ago, the threshold broke down because water got in and completely destroyed the wood they built the frame with so water was leaking into my room. They wanted $129 just to "drive" to my house, would not give me labor costs per hour and I'm glad I found someone else to fix the problem and do it correctly! Never again would I ever call them! Please beware!!!

Baby stroller in driveway. Female holding baby.

Feldco crew brings 1 year old baby to the job site. This is a long review. The photos are from my neighbor's Ring camera. This is going to be a series of reviews regarding my experience hiring Feldco to install new siding on my house. This has been the worst home renovation experience. Do not ever hire this company to do any work at your house. Two separate Feldco crews did poor workmanship not up to industry standards on my house. The first crew quit after two days because I caught them covering up rotten wood with house wrap on several occasions. The crew boss advised me they were quitting because they did not like me watching them work after I caught them covering up the rotten wood. The second crew was even worse and left my house with holes in the siding. I will share all the pictures of the poor workmanship in future posts. As the title of the post says, the first Feldco crew brought a baby to the job site. Let me explain. The first Feldco crew arrived at my house and not one of the workers spoke English. They were all Chinese. A worker handed me his I phone and a male identified himself as "Ray" the boss. Ray said he was 10 minutes away from my house, and he was stuck in traffic because of an accident and he asked if his crew could start working. I made a huge mistake and allowed them to start working. Shortly after they removed the old siding, I caught the crew trying to cover rotten wood with the house wrap instead of replacing the wood as the contract said they would do. A short time later, a female showed up on the job site with a 1-year-old baby. I went outside and advised the female she could not stay on my property because it was not safe to have a baby on the job site. The female advised me that it was ok and she was there to translate any questions I had for the crew since none of the crew spoke English. I told her to leave my property, but again she refused. I tried several times to telephone the crew boss, but he failed to answer the phone. I called Feldco and complained about the baby being on the job site and catching the crew covering up rotten wood with the house wrap. After asking the female to leave my property several times, she finally left after I threatened to call the police and have her removed. A Feldco representative and the crew boss arrived at my house. I explained to the Feldco representative that I caught the crew placing house wrap over rotten pieces of wood on several occasions and that the crew brought a baby to the job site. The Feldco representative listened to my complaints and asked the crew boss why a baby was brought to the job site. The crew boss stated the baby's father had not seen his baby in several days because he was travelling. The Feldco representative accepted the explanation, and the crew was allowed to continue to work until they quit the next day. After the crew quit, I contacted Feldco and requested the business contact information regarding the first crew, because I was going to report the crew to the authorities for bringing a baby onto the job site. Feldco refused to provide me with any information. The fact that a baby was brought to a construction site shows you the lack of professionalism and common sense from Feldco. My next post, I will begin posting the numerous pictures of the holes and examples of poor workmanship that was done by both Feldco crews. As I post the pictures, I will fully explain the circumstances.

    Right side ok

I had windows installed 4 years ago. Had a minor issue with trim detaching in one spot between two windows. Called Feldco and emailed pics. They said it would be $129 to have them come out to fix it, as it is not covered under warranty. So much for their "lifetime limited warranty." Windows were installed 4 years ago. Before this I would get random calls from them asking about future projects...roof, siding.etc. Don't think so, now that I know if there are issues they will leave you hanging.

The downspout is broken. My backyard is so scary and unsafe.

Do not use this company. I'll try to be as short as possible. I wanted the gutters, downspout and siding done on my 3 story building. They said that the highest they go is 3 stories so that was fine. I signed the contract and gave them half the money down. I asked if the project would be done by Christmas and they said "yes." I waited and waited. I called and got no answers and my sales person stopped responding. On January 14th the head of a department called me and told me that our building was too high for the work. Why didn't they tell me that after the measurements were taken a while back? Our building look just like other three story buildings? Why did they wait so long? This work needed to be done. The backyard is a safety hazard. It is so slippery because of our broken downspout. They told me my money would be refunded in 5-7 days. That was three weeks ago! No refund so far!!!! I got a head of departments name that said he would at least try to get some answers for me as to at least help with the gutters and downspout. I called, texted and emailed him and they won't respond at all.

We had two condo units in our building update windows as well as two back hallway windows, and Jacob provided a highly competitive quote. He was kind and patient when we waited for other unit owners in the building to decide, and did not push us to move quicker or make a decision when we were not yet ready. Ordering windows took a few weeks and teams on install day moved swiftly and kept the area clean after! I also want to note that we live on the 3rd floor of a condo building and many contractors said they could not install and/or needed additional materials, external infrastructure and costs to do the project, but Jacob made it seamless with bringing windows up the stairs, and doing an internal install, which incurred no extra install costs. This was also great as it did not impact our neighbors and kept the project contained and clean. Jacob really cares about being transparent and has earned our trust, and I would 100% recommend him and his team to anyone looking to install new windows in their home. Overall, we really highly recommend Jacobs 1 Construction! I cannot say enough great things about the quality of their work, competitive pricing, and their dedication to their customers.

I'm usually not one to spend time getting a bunch of quotes and just rely on Yelp reviews to make a purchasing decision, but this was pricey enough purchase that i figured I should do my due diligence.' Siding & Windows Group was one of the 4 companies I had come out for a quote. We ended up with them for a few reasons: - Their quote was competitive - They were able to spray paint the interior trim with our existing paint color - They were able to match the exterior trim as closely as possible to our windows outside - Anthony at Siding & Windows Group was very responsive We placed the order on August 22nd, which is my bday. I can't say new doors was what i wanted for my bday, but i guess this is being a homeowner in your 40s. The new doors weren't installed until November 6th and we just hoped for no big storms and got lucky. Anthony checked in a few times on when they'd be installed and pushed it back a few days due to other projects. The actual installation took about a day, which wasn't too bad. A week later they came to spray paint, which honestly seemed like a much bigger project than installing the doors. That took 2 days and went smoothly, although there was a little confusion about them not knowing what color to paint, etc. It turned out beautifully and while the doors look very similar to our old doors I like the look of these even better. The exterior finish isn't a perfect match, but i think a big part of that is our old paint on our windows as faded. One day we'll touch it all up, but for now we're looking forward to a break in paying for anything for the house. I learned there are a lot of companies in the area for new windows/doors, but we were satisfied with this one and would use them again.

They were prepared for bumps in the road as well (weather) and kept in good contact throughout the process and actually listened to us when we had questions or momentary concerns they put us at ease with the information we sought. It's a big purchase, but they made us feel confident in our decision by their actions, and we LOVE how the siding looks, and what it's doing for us since the install (Alside Ascend vinyl). We went ahead and replaced soffit, facia and even had new gutters formed and installed - and not once did they pressure us for those additional items. Just a great experience and we're so glad we went with SWG. Thanks!

Let me tell you about my Renewal by Andersen experience…read more First off, I was extremely lucky to get Renee assigned to me after I filled out a quick form to get an appointment with a sales rep. I met with Renee and immediately knew I had the right sales rep. Her knowledge, professionalism and her no pressure approach to my appointment left me with a lot to digest and she gave me lots of time to make my decision. Our second appointment confirmed my gut feeling that I really liked Renee as we double checked the windows and colors that I had initially picked out. Renee's background in design and knowledge of all the windows and doors, helped me make choices with ease. Renee's friendly personality and honesty were refreshing. I asked many questions along the way and Renee offered information that was relevant and left me happy with my final choices. The night prior to the installation, I received a text from Vladimir regarding his time of arrival and gave me a window of 10 minutes. Yep, he and his team arrived in that window and started the job. The first thing they did was to cover every single item in my house with plastic, from the carpet to the tops of my cabinets. Vladimir walked me through how the day was going to go so there would be no surprises. The crew was all business ALL day long. I don't think anyone took a lunch break. They were like a well oiled machine, each person (6 people in all) had a specific job and they worked together to get the old windows and doors out in order to get the new ones installed, to help get the house closed up quickly. The crew honestly left my house cleaner than when they had arrived. They vacuumed, wet mopped the kitchen, picked up every, and I mean every piece, of waste material from the outside. At the end of the day, my house had transformed significantly. Renee had suggested a front door color that I am so happy I chose. I would have been disappointed if we had gone with my original choice. The new front door changed the look of the front of the house and the 4 panel back slider is so smooth and it has a lock on the outside which changed the back of the house. I had a garden window in the kitchen that was very inefficient and was covered in plastic every winter. I am so excited to know that I will not have to cover any window or door in plastic this winter and feel good about the upcoming summer season. I couldn't have asked for a better team installing such a quality product. Renee and Vladimir are the team you should request. 5 STAR REVIEW! Or as their performance review states, a 10 out of 10.

The installers were great. Everyone behind the scenes, however, from sales to customer service is just really under serving in almost every way possible. Sales doesn't want to hear from you after they've made the sale. The project manager is over it kinda the whole time but definitely once install is completed. Then you're left with a (likely underpaid) "concierge" who is left to deal with upset customers and can't help much or update you on anything. On the day of install we immediately found out that the electronic Yale door knob on the door did not work. After many calls from us, and reschedules on their end they finally scheduled a new doorknob install for August 5th. Two months. The new Yale door knob STILL doesn't work, which was discovered on August 5th by the installer. Same issues as the last one. We are now at August 11th and they are just ghosting us. Every single person we have tried to contact for the last week has ignored, or said they'd follow up and has not. So here we are! Big thank you to Geoffrey Kurowski in sales, our project manager Thomas Willoughby and I'm not going to name the concierge cause she's been the most helpful but still not able to do much. One star for trash customer service. 34k for windows and a door, by the way, readers.
