I was trying to take my mom out for a nice last night in New York but the experience of coming to the restaurant was disappointing. We arrived around 8 PM on a Friday night. The restaurant was fairly packed but the hostess said the wait would only be 15 minutes so we decided to wait. We waited around 35 minutes before we were actually seated. There was no actual waiting area in the restaurant since it was so small so we had to awkwardly stand around the door until we were called in. When we were seated I was very disappointed to see that we were not seated in one of the cute areas that surround the opening. Instead we were shoved into a dark corner on tiny table next to the bar. There was a giant crowd of bar patrons sitting behind us and just made the smaller space even more crowded. Worst yet was this awful guy who decided to stand next to our table halfway through our meal and just kept bumping me with his butt because he talked like a woodpecker - constantly bending over at the waist with no respect for those around him in such a small area. Service was slow as well - it was difficult to grab the attention of our server during the meal. When we finally did, we ordered the eggplant Parmesan appetizer and linguine di mare. The eggplant parmigiana was pretty average - a bit salty but the sauce was good and I was able to bring it home and make it into a good pasta dish the next day. The linguine di mare had a good flavor and amount of seafood. Our main complaint was that the noodles were not cooked enough and had way too much of a bite to them. However, once we told the server about it she brought out a replacement for us which was very nice and did turn out better. All in all, a disappointing night that was just hit and miss throughout the whole experience. read more

Stopped by for restaurant week l lunch on Sunday and was quickly seated. We opted for an outdoor table since it was a nice day. For starters we had the mussels. The mussels were fresh and the white wine sauce was nice and garlicky, it paired well with the nicely toasted bread. For the entree I had the salmon salad. Salmon was well cooked, rest of the salad was pretty standard. The sliced avocados looked pretty but were rock hard. Other than that, a great meal. Decided to finally give this place a shot since I always walk by and it's always busy for dinner. The cocktails were tasty and inside was super cozy and inviting, but overall the food was was a bit of a letdown for me - we ordered the Proscuitto e Crostini Toscani and Pappardelle con Salsiccia. The crostini was good, but for the cost, would've liked a slightly larger portion. It's a great place with great food. But if it's just two people I am not sure their seating arrangements are great. If you want to be packed like sardines then this might be your place. I loved everything about the place including the food, lighting, service, wine, ambience....except the seating. They pack six tables for two people in a space that should be for 4 tables. Maybe 5. And then despite most of them being empty, as guests come in they will seat you next to the only occupied one. You go to a Restaurant to enjoy the environment and be comfortable. We were not. The other couple sitting next to us were not comfortable either. We were so close that we could also touch each others elbows and hear everything being said. There were a few times we looked at each other because it was not possible to avoid being distracted. I don't get restaurants that try to make an extra buck but in the process create a less memorable experience and loose the possibility of someone coming back. What a wonderful find for brunch or any other meal, really. Such a peaceful, cozy and lovely little gem of an Italian wine bar. Loved the outdoor tables but indoor seating was very comfortable. Service was just right - someone always nearby and no one ever hovering. I appreciated the kind, friendly mild mannered service I received. Food wise I loved the bread! The olive bread was divine. And they give you so much! My veggie omelette was the perfect size and well seasoned. I liked the combination of kale and zucchini with I believe goat cheese. It was pleasant and served with a handful of beautifully toasted potatoes. Now the side salad was just delightful. I came to Felice 64 for bunch on a Sunday. Felice is an Italian restaurant that has multiple locations in NYC and I can see why it has been so successful. There are constantly people dining at Felice when we walk by! We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara and Crostone con Avocado. The bread used for their Crostone con Avocado has sunflower seeds and I am such a fan of breads embellished with seeds. The poached eggs were wonderfully cooked. The spaghetti carbonara was really delicious as well. You can tell the pasta was handmade and the sauce was extremely creamy. Our waitress was very kind and attentive during our meal. Indoor dining is available and they have a great set up for socially distanced eating spaces with plexiglass separating most of the two people tables. The décor is very modern and clean. A reliable Italian restaurant with a classic menu and a cosy interior. I went to Felice with a friend and overall, found the experience to be a good one. We ordered the Arancini and bruschetta to start. I personally preferred the Arancini balls, the bruschetta was piled up high with tomatoes that were relatively flavorless. For the entree I had the Arrabiata sauce with Pappardelle pasta instead of spaghetti. The pasta was a good size with the Pappardelle cooked to perfection however I couldn't help but notice the tomato sauce had a slight tin-like taste which I imagine was because they weren't fresh tomatoes. First, both of my waiters were excellent. Blonde woman with a high ponytail and short girl with dark hair. They are the reason why Felice 64 is not getting one star. Carbonara was extremely oily, I'm not an expert on the dish and it does have bacon but you could see WAY too much oil flooding around. Tiramisu was a joke for $12. I had a reservation for 2, but it ended up being just me, the hostess suggested I grab a sit at the bar since it was just me. Maybe I felt self-conscious about it but I think it was bit distasteful. Also, I could hear the hostess' laughter across the room as she was chitchatting with other staff. I get that the place was kinda empty at the time and they were bored but as a customer you should never be able to hear the staff chitchat and laugh loudly. I came to Felice 64 this past Friday and I can say that I was not disappointed. I was really quite happy overall with the service, food and decor of the place. Although I sat outside, the decor was quite nice on the inside. I would like to highlight that the service was quite good here. We were always checked up on, drinks came out fast and they were very nice in terms of accommodating to our dietary restrictions. I would say 5/5 easily. For the drinks, I got my usual Dirty Martini. It was made quite well and to my specifications. I was very happy with the hastiness in how quickly it was delivered and it tasted great. For the food, I was very happy overall with only a slight problem. For the appetizer I got the Burrata, Cavolo, E Capperi. I thought this was a 4/5 because I was not a fan of the cabbage on this. For the main course I got the Gnocchi al Gorgonzola. This was a 5/5 and it was delicious. The sauce was creamy and it tasted like proper gnocchi that was not undercooked. I highly recommend this if you're a vegetarian. For dessert I had a espresso with Sambuca which was great. Nothing special overall here. I would give this a 4.5 if the appetizer did not have any cabbage in it. Since I live in the neighborhood I will definitely be coming here more often. I highly recommend this spot. read more

I loved the ambiance and the decorations but it's also really dark and pretty loud inside. The wine was the same price at their cocktails! The cocktail was decent but the wine pour was very little. The bread that they served was so dry that I was choking. We ordered the special of the day which was a burrata with pesto sauce. The cheese complimented well with the crunchy prosciutto and tomatoes. We ordered the Crostini Toscani (chicken liver mousse) and it tasted gross. We both took a bite and put it right back down onto the plate. I will not be returning to any Felice locations. read more

Favorite dish of the night was the fusilli with burrata -- the pasta had just the right amount of chew and the burrata made everything so creamy and delicious. A beautiful night on a bustling corner! We came here for an early dinner on a Friday night. We were seated at a lovely table outside on 64th street and we had a prime spot to enjoy all the people and dog watching going on in the neighborhood. The entire staff was so kind and attentive, they made the whole experience 5 stars. We had a delicious bottle of Barbera from Piedmont and started with the rice balls. So good that the owner walked by at some point to see me licking my plate! I had the Fusilli Al Ferretto E Burrata - delicious, I could have eaten an entire plate of the burrata on its own. Dined at felice for dinner with my bf. They had a restaurant week menu where you get 3 courses for $45 - definitely a nice deal considering there entrees run $22-45. My bf was interested in getting the steak (not on restaurant week) and the waiter was very nice and allowed me to order on the restaurant week menu while my bf ordered on the regular menu. We ordered a bottle of red wine that went nicely with the meal (Pinot noir that was recommended). For appetizers I ordered the arancini - the waiter recommended this over the bruschetta and I'm glad we went with his suggestion as this was super crispy and flavorful bites! For entrees I ordered the salmon with a green pea purée and veggies and my bf ordered the steak with Brussels. The salmon was cooked well and the purée on top added for more flavor and freshness. The steak was cooked nicely but we felt in needed a nice sauce to really tie it together for us. The Brussels were delicious! The tiramisu was also a great way to end the meal and was very creamy and decadent. Overall I think the restaurant week menu was great! I think my bf regretted not trying that since the steak was okay and the price of that was the same as my 3 course meal. Terrible service and the managers are incompetent. Booked and cancelled a last minute reservation within the same hour and got charged $175 for it with no wiggle room to wave the fee. Nonetheless, it was nyc marathon weekend - I'm sure someone walked in right after and used the table. I was told Saturday night that if I had called directly, I wouldn't have gotten charged but since I cancelled through Resy, I was automatically charged. The manager then changed his story after the weekend as if that isn't what he said. Cute and classy little Italian restaurant. My brother and I came for Restaurant week and really enjoyed our 2-course lunch. I got the mussels starter while my brother got the veal meatballs which are not pictured. They gave a lot of mussels considering it was an app, but hey I'm not complaining. Loved the sauce and they give you two large pieces of bread on top to finish up whatever sauces there are left. The veal meatballs were also pretty good, but not outstanding. For the main course, I got the salmon, which was super yummy as the top was wonderfully crispy while the rest was savory and flaky. The veggies were also a good addition. From our corner window seat, to our wonderful waiter, The food, noise level, and overall experience - - all perfect. Felice offers a very nice menu that mostly leans italian, a great wine selection, and delicious desserts. I would like to especially thank our waiter who made the four of us feel as welcome as if we were visiting his home: we each arrived individually and as we did, he took our jackets and hung them, and promptly brought us each a drink. Came for lunch on a quiet Sunday, it was super hot outside so we figured it would be a good rest break. Customer service was awesome and the servers were really attentive to our needs. However, there were a lot of dishes that were not washed or checked properly. Pro tip: Best Brussels sprouts EVER. Their Brussels are pan seared in bacon fat, and it's the most delicious crispy on the outside soft on the inside Brussels I can ever hope to have. Maybe one day I will successfully replicate this in my own kitchen, but for now, I thank the heavens I'm within walking distance to this treasurer. Felice 64 is a popular neighborhood gem that receives some more mature clientele but is a great place to go if you're a wine-o or you would like to impress visiting parents. When it's warm out, they offer al fresco dining. There is a larger long table right smack in the center of the restaurant to accommodate larger parties, and a few medium sized round tables scattered throughout. The menu has excellent selections, including my favorite, the Pappardelle con Salsiccia (a thicker pasta with sweet sausage, porcini mushrooms, endives, and very fragrant truffle oil). Unfortunately, the Linguine di Mare (seafood linguine) was not as good as I hoped it would be. Though I liked the heavy handed tomato sauce, the seafood itself wasn't super fresh and my clams were quite sandy. Oh, and see above for the best Brussels sprouts you'll ever have. read more
