What's really cool about this Pilates studio is all the different type of equipment that they have. They have 2 types of reformers, pilates chairs, and just all the bells and whistles. I took my class with Alexia and she was great! All her cues were on point and we did moves that were new to me. On top of that, she was super friendly and just fun to talk to. She offers tons of modifications to fit your skill level or where you just feel at that day. I tried to push myself and always go for the most challenging version and I was SWEATING. I did a sunrise hike earlier that day and definitely felt the leg shakes (in the best way). The whole studio felt super clean and it was really nice to get in a workout and be able to look out the window with beautiful views of the North Shore and hear all the chickens. After retiring from the military, I wasn't really working out anymore and wanted something that would help strengthen my core without being too hard on my joints. I signed up for the beginner package and had three one-hour sessions with Ana. Every review I read (with the exception of Michael M- which I think is a fake review) about her and the studio was absolutely accurate. She's an amazing Pilates instructor and just a genuinely kind person with great energy. You can tell she's passionate about what she does, and she took the time to teach me the proper techniques instead of rushing through the workouts. The pricing is fair, and I really appreciated the smaller, more personal feel of the studio. It's by far a better experience than what you'd find at a national chain Pilates studio. You never feel like just another client. I have been moving so haven't had the chance to go back, but once I'm settled in my new place I will go back consistently. If you've been thinking about trying reformer Pilates, I highly recommend Pilates No Ka Oi!!!

I feel like my joints are less sore and when I get out of bed in the morning my ankles don't make a clicking sound anymore! I can tell that my core is strengthening and my flexibility is improving. Ana is also teaching me body rolling exercises which I really love! I plan to keep working with Ana and will try some of her classes as well as, continue with private sessions. I got to take 2 classes with Kashmira, and she really seems like an experienced teacher. She knows how to motivate us and foster whatever vibe she is going for. Her playlist is also impeccable. I had been slacking on doing cardiovascular exercise, so these cycling classes were a welcome wake up call that I need to get back on the proverbial horse (bike?) with my exercise routine. I like that the studio provides you with cycling shoes, towels to dry off, towels to cool down, lockers to stash your belongings, and a pretty nice restroom. Lucy customizes workouts based on your fitness level and goals. I started with personal lessons and moved to group sessions. I find group sessions were better for me as it gave me the motivation to push myself to do better, since I was in a class with advanced students. Therefore, I needed to keep up with them. I noticed a change within 6 weeks of continuous pilates and I didn't really change my eating habits. Although, it does help if you adapt to a cleaner lifestyle of eating, if you want to get into your hot girl era faster.

The instructor was great and helped when the directions were confusing or when we looked confused. The Ala Moana location is convenient because it is on the ground level and there is plenty of parking. The downside is that its mall parking so depending on the day and time of your class, it is very busy.
