My neighborhood has a serious coyote problem, and I needed a solution to allow my dogs to go outside to do their business safely while I was at work. After speaking to Janet in the office (super nice lady!), she said she could have Maro come out the next day or two. Maro came out and I explained what I wanted. They were booked solid the next three weeks, but I was put into their schedule (I wasn't really in a hurry since I was stuck at home on lockdown with no work to go to anyway.) 3 weeks later, the job is started, and the guys (Luis and Mando) were terrific. Very nice, great work ethic, and really know their stuff. Job was finished in a day and a half, and I am thrilled! The boys have already given it their seal of approval, too (dog pics are before gate was hung and chain link was secured top and bottom) . Thanks again, Fence Craft. I'm surprised I don't see more reviews of this company. Maybe it's because customers are satisfied and move on to the next home improvement project. For me, the hardest part of the project was getting a couple of estimates (Fence Craft came in more than 10% below my first offer, so I stopped there). The next most involved thing was enlisting my neighbor to come on board to share the cost and agree with my design choices. Our shared 30 year old redwood fence had seen better days. I signed the contract and Fence Craft showed up around 8am on a Monday as planned. It was a Monday through Friday project and the two fence guys worked very hard to remove and haul away the old fence and install the new one. This involved some trench digging and digging deep holes to properly set the posts in concrete. Also, from what I observed, it's a very precise job where you want the posts to be totally level on all sides and have the panels line up. After the project was finished on Friday, I requested some minor design changes involving the caps on the gates. They came out fairly early the next Monday to redo those (seven post tops in all). Now, I'm totally enjoying the results of my new (and great looking) vinyl privacy fence with the gothic post tops. Their very nice office in Upland is where you might start, as you can ask all sorts of questions and look at samples of various fence choices. I spent about a half hour there just talking to Janet, the office manager, and Mario, I think it was, about specific questions and concerns regarding warrantees, etc. This company and the employees were very respectful of my home and property during the project. I am writing this review based on my experience I walked in to schedule an estimate for a new fence and gates for my house about 8 months ago. When I walked in I spoke with a man named Pat. I said I was available the next day and we agreed on 9 am. The next morning at 930 I called and a woman answered and told me there was no appointment. Pat then showed up around 1030. 5 days later I called because my estimate never was sent. It came in was written very sloppy and unclear also it was very high in price. I emailed them back trying to negotiate, with no response. June 3rd I wanted to try and see if we could do the work. I was giving them a second chance. Pat showed up on time, a little grumpy but I can deal with grumpy. When we spoke I agreed on a 6 ft gate for my driveway and a 3 ft fence to close the gap. The estimate came in the next day this time. I called and asked to see pictures of possible gates based on the estimate. Today I got an email with a new estimate that was $300 more than the original estimate and I didn't ask for anything different. All I did was tell them I liked the first picture that they were offering me. I called pat right away and he said yeah you asked for a different style gate. I didn't I asked for pictures of what I could get with the estimate I was given. He just YELLED, you need to go with some one else and hung up on me. read more

The crime scene in our backyard lead us to believe that while we were at work, Charlie Mike Tyson and Ramsay Evander Holyfield got into it again. Guess who's missing a chunk of his ear? Poor Holyfield has been to the emergency vet more than any dog should, and the humans are at their wit's end with Tyson. So what to do? I know! Prison cell and Prison gates! And we need them stat! Of course, I then turn to Yelp for help. I find 3 local fence company's and use the "Request a Quote" option through Yelp to send messages for quotes. How many answer? One and only One--Fence Craft of Upland. The response came back fairly quick, within 24 hours. We made arrangements for a visit/quote on a Saturday morning between 9 and 11. Pat shows up promptly at 9 a.m., looks at our yard, and all the things we have in mind, takes the measurements and says our written quote will be e-mailed within a few days. We received it by Monday morning. At first, we had sticker shock, but doing more research, that tends to be the price range, and Fence Craft is fully licensed/bonded, and local--that was an important factor for us. Didn't want a company no showing or cutting corners because they had to drive to/from LA or the OC. So we signed the contract. We had a total of 4 vinyl gates, a chain link kennel, and a 6 ft chain link across a portion of the backyard. They ordered the materials (primarily the vinyl gates), and by the following week they were back out putting up the chain link portion and the posts for the vinyl gates. They returned the following week with the vinyl gates. Oscar and his crew were very courteous and worked efficiently AND cleaned up. I hate when contractors leave a huge mess. None of that here. It's been about a month now and all the gates are still standing. Of course they are! We are very pleased with the job. The vinyl gates look really nice, and the chain link prison gates have solved the unauthorized backyard heavy weight championship matches from occurring. Tyson and Holyfield are now enjoying their retirement. read more

Fence Craft did an outstanding job on my fence. They removed my old wooden fence that was rotted and installed a beautiful tan vinyl fencing. No money was required for a deposit for the materials, which shocked me. The entire job was about 70' in length, and they were finished in 3 days. The crew was very friendly, and worked their butts off. Very happy with the results, and so are my neighbors. read more

I have to say my experience with them is limited to their showroom only. not that it is is much of a show room. I have been using them for over a year DIYing fencing my cattle ranch for non farm type materials. I cold have ordered online but I like to shop local whenever possible. Not only have a I found them to be friendly and full of good ideas, Their material prices are very fair. I looked into purchasing wholesale but their margin is so low it is not worth the extra hassle for me to deal with setting up a wholesale account. on top of that the office staff is super friendly and when i need something they dont have, they order it and it arrives in a timely fashion. They always go out of their way to make sure i am happy. Really great guys and Gals I cannot say enough good things about them. read more

Ordered a dog kennel from them. Week later got phone call was ready. Drove down to pick it up. When I arrived, (30 mins later) advised it wasn't ready they made roof of kennel too small. Went to pick it up and kennel wasn't ready. Boss working inside told me he would deliver next day for free and install for my troubles. As I originally was going to install my self. I agreed to free delivery and install. Next day, they delivered as promised but said install was not included. Worker called boss on site and he was very rude to me and told me he wasn't going to argue with me and keep his word on install.. told his worker to leave and leave material there for me to install. Don't make promises in person to me and go back in your word. Save your money and go else where. Hope this review saves people from dealing with a shitty company. I was very disappointed with this company and more so with the General Manager( Patrick Keeney ).I was told that they would be there between 9- 9:30 am I got to my house a 9:10 from dropping of my kids at school and Patrick Keeney General Manager was mad and they took measurement on my fence and TOLD me he would send a quote over. I waited two days an nothing , so I called him to ask for the quote. Patrick Keeney said he was not sending a quote over and then hung up on me. Not ever professional! No matter what the case is you should be nice and send a quote over when you said you would! Also not hang up on someone just be nice and say I just don't think I want this job! We hired this company to put up a wood fence in our back yard. The job was good, but their power tools blew out our outlets and the contractor Patrick said "it was not his problem" to fix. Therefore, if we knew he was going to be a jerk about breaking stuff in our house and not taking responsibility to fix, I would have NEVER hired him. Find other companies that do their job right and are not going to go to your home and break stuff and leave it broken with more for you to pay. read more

Unfortunately they do not honor their estimates. They state work that they would do and do something else that is convenient and easier. When I had address this to the on site supervisor his response was that he wasn't going to loose his ass on this job...basically telling me that he is not going to do what he stated on the estimate but yet still charged us the full amount of what was estimated. I feel that they need to learn how to write up an estimate that they are going to honor and that the work that is stated to be done is proformed. read more

Sooooo glad I didn't go with this company. I called on Friday the 13th with some questions and to ask about an estimate. I was told that I would get a call back later in the day or someone would come by. I waited 6-8 hours and never heard anything from them the rest of the afternoon. When Monday the 16th rolled around I had still not heard anything from them so I decided to call. I talked to the office and the appointment for Tuesday the 17th was set up between 3-4. I walked up to the school a block and a half away at 3:10 and talked with my 13 year old son who I left home to tell the estimator I would be back in 5 minutes since I was up the street picking up my child from school. No call from Patrick to say he was at the house or are you on your way back. He literally waited 3 minutes and told my 13 year old he was leaving and I would have to reschedule. I called the number on the business card and got the office. I told them I was walking down the street and that Patrick had just been to the house. The person on the other end of the phone told me, yeah, we have a real tight schedule and you weren't home. I guess he's right, you should sit around and guess as to whether or not someone will show up or call you. They need a little flexibility. The customer shouldn't be the one sitting wondering when or if they will show up. Here's a novel idea; call the person and tell them you are on your way. There are a lot of better fence companies out there, I suggest you use one of them. This company will be out of business soon if they continue their practices. read more

We thought the estimate was a bit high, due to the fact that they were using our old material from the fence to install the gate. However, we looked at the reviews and looked as though they followed through with their workmanship. A frame was placed around the existing material. No new posts were added. Unfortunately, the installer thought the gate would stay open, if using a different hinge. However he didn't have that hinge in his materials the day of installation, for the one hour of labor. Pat came out after the installation and explained (on the phone and in person, not a happy camper) that no hinge could be made for that size of pole and frame to stop the gate from hitting me in the face or my vehicle as I drive through. (Gosh, just tell me that my gate would do that, and I would of thought about two gates instead of one!) And he clearly told me that it opened fully enough, and I could make it stay open by someone holding it. He also said I could install a stop pole or use a brick or rock to hold the gate open. Thanks! I really appreciate my new gate, the workmanship was fantastic, but make sure your hardware will perform, as they won't stand by their product if they didn't put that piece on the estimate. Guess I'll be looking for a rock or taking a field trip over to Home Depot to make my gate work for me! read more
