In the early November windstorm a section blew out. I patched it together and wrote them. They did not respond, so two weeks later I wrote again. They responded that they would be coming up with a "quote" to repair the fence. The fault was an upper member had been cut too short, which was an installation error. I protested and they said they would send someone out to look at the fence. That was a month ago. In the meanwhile, as other windstorms were coming, I wound up screwing a large metal bracket to what should be a nice vinyl fence. They do good initial work but do not support their product.

Matt came out to give me a quote on just a day's notice, all the way in West Hartford. He was the only contractor that really got in and shook the fence which needed repairs. He really wanted to understand the structural problems. He explained everything thoroughly and had an innovative idea for the driveway gate we wanted to put in. Matt was super fast to email me a quote the next day ... Something I appreciated, especially when another West Hartford fence contractor still hasn't responded three weeks later! He was quick to respond to email questions and followed up well. Ultimately, we ended up going with a different contractor due to the slightly decreased cost. This was no fault of Durham Fence Co's. It was essentially a different job which was proposed. The other contractor agreed to use some existing poles we had in use while Matt wanted to ensure they'd be replaced to ensure the quality of the work. Totally makes sense. I will certainly consider hiring Durham Fence in the future.

Marc the owner was very unpleasant to deal with as this wasn't a "big paying job" I was a nuisance to them really. Now 3 months later one of the gates has 2 cracks, one at a sodder joint corner, which is technically a Manufacturing flaw. Marc cannot be bothered to replace or fix because he is too busy with big jobs and I need to be more careful. Ya right, I don't beat on or man handle my equipment. I very much ever regret getting involved with these people.

EVERY TIME the pit bulls run out for at least 1 minute they jump crazily on the fence and try to tug and pull at it. My fence has been up for over a year now, and I couldn't be happier. I had mine professionally installed. Rafe is the installer and he did an excellent job. I actually rent so this was literally THE ONLY option I could find for renter. There are no holes to dig, and no cement to pour. I literally couldn't be happier.

The fence arrived in multiple boxes with no instructions and no labeled parts. The only guidance we could find was an online video -- which turned out to be for a different version of the fence. After installing it incorrectly, we were finally told to download a manual online. The instructions for the version we bought were buried at the very end of the document, which forced us to redo a large portion of the work. Even with the manual, the instructions were vague, outdated, and referenced parts that weren't even included. The mesh itself arrived bent, torn, frayed, and full of holes. Within an hour of being in the yard, our Great Pyrenees tore the mesh off the cable and jumped over the 6-foot fence. The gate was crooked and wouldn't close properly. Gripples came loose. Posts wouldn't stay tight. When we contacted the owner, he refused a refund and implied that we caused the damage ourselves. He repeatedly told us a "grandma and granddaughter" installed their fence in a weekend -- which felt condescending and dismissive, especially since we live in a rural area where hiring a handyman isn't realistic. We would not recommend this product to anyone -- especially if you have large dogs or expect real customer support.

One week later, a truck pulled up outside and within about an hour the old railings were gone and the new railings were installed! I can't say enough about the outstanding level of service I received from Jose and his crew. We thought by hiring a well known company for the job and paying a higher price we were sure to get a good result. The first installers installed posts that were not straight, loose from the concrete footings, not in a straight line and never returned to install the wire fence after having a technical problem with their equipment. After several failed attempted to contact them, the second installers came and installed the wire fence but left patched holes, and had not stapled the fence to several of the posts. After more complaints they sent the installers back to fix the fence and they even asked if they could use an old beam they found in our yard to help hold up 2 of the posts. Finally the job was complete, With a lot of our supervision and guidance. We will not be using them to complete another fencing job. Do not be fooled by their 5 star reviews. They do not take pride in their work and you have to supervise them to get the result you had contracted for. Disappointing, but we at least got a fence.

They installed a gate entry system and fence around the perimeter of our home in 2012 and have done such a fantastic job, through every storm (even with downed trees) the fence is still as sturdy as the day they installed it. Most recently, they have also installed a pergola for us as well. We have recommended them to our neighbors and 2 of our neighbors used their services and have been absolutely thrilled with their service and durability. We can drive through the neighborhood and obviously notice who didn't use Cornerstone because their fences are coming apart and panels are failing. The most important part of a service provider to me is not only customer service but also having trust that the job will be done right the first time.
