We went on "lovers night" so they had live do-woop music band inside which was really good. We were seated outside which was nice cuz it was humid hot! The breeze and sunset on the balcony was great. The bar downstairs also had live music so we were able to enjoy that. It seems that they are short staffed on the servers. It did take a minute to get some help but we got some great tasting drinks and started to pare take in our smoke sesh. Sessions on the Bay is such a vibe. From the moment you walk in, the experience feels unique. You actually enter through the dispensary first, where you can browse and pick up your favorites before making your way upstairs to the lounge. It almost feels like you're walking into a speakeasy as you pass through this cool market-style space, then down a hallway lined with awesome artwork and classic Hollywood movie posters with a stoner twist before arriving upstairs. Once you're in the lounge, the vibes are immaculate. The décor is trendy, the wall art is incredible, and when I went, the DJ was absolutely killing it. I was Shazaming song after song because the playlist was that good. The service was fantastic from start to finish. Our hostess seated us right away, everyone was attentive, and the staff made the whole experience feel welcoming. Word of advice, get a reservation! You won't have to wait. The food was honestly better than I expected. If you go, you HAVE to order the Ahi Tuna Crispy Waffle. It was incredibly fresh, and the sweetness of the mango tied everything together perfectly. I also ordered the Wake & Bake Espresso which was delicious. One thing I really appreciated is that although I don't smoke, I never felt out of place. My friends were able to enjoy smoking at the table, and you can even order products to be brought upstairs (the upstairs selection is a bit smaller than what's available in the dispensary below, but it's still super convenient). As someone who doesn't consume THC, I was a little nervous about ordering a cocktail since they're served with a THC additive. Thankfully, the additive comes separately on the side, so you have complete control over whether you use it. I simply handed mine to a friend, and it completely took the pressure off. There is a $10 lounge cover, which I think is totally reasonable for the experience. If I remember correctly, it's waived with a dispensary purchase of $50 or more. Overall, Sessions on the Bay does an amazing job creating a space that's welcoming for everyone. Whether you're a regular cannabis consumer or you're simply there for the atmosphere, great food, drinks, music, and company, it's an awesome place to spend an evening. My 1st time at Sessions was on Mother's Day thanks to my Daughter. A time was had! It wasn't busy at all, we basically just dropped in to check it out. Stopped in the dispensary downstairs and picked up some pre rolls.. wanted to tread lightly. Yea well that didn't happen haha. Their prices are reasonable just depends on what you're looking for. No FTP discounts but they had sales on a few items. Once we purchased our goods we headed up stairs. We were seated immediately. They had some live music going which was nice. Also nice little older crowd. Didn't take us long to feel alright *wink They do serve food and mocktails. We just came from brunch so I just ordered a dessert which was a hard pass. The first Smoke Lounge in San Diego Sessions & yes it's by the bay in my beautiful city of National City. Let's start with the positives, the decor & vibes at the lounge are amazing, it has a great classy & hippie vibe. They have live music on certain days & DJ's & they have movie nights as well, they be playing some good funny classics which goes perfect with your high. The customer service at the lounge for the most part was good might have to flag a staffer sometimes but they are nice & friendly. Haven't tried the food yet but will soon. To smoke & get to the lounge you must buy your product at their dispensary on the first floor you cannot bring in your own product. As far as their cannabis product like wax, vape & edibles they have good options & they sell pieces to smoke from that you can use at the lounge which is cool. I'm a flower guy & they have some good flower/joints options but not as much as I would like (Grizzly Peak is a great brand wish they had it) & their prices are reasonable & sometimes they have some good deals. Customer service from the lounge & front door once you walk in & when you pay is pretty good, nice, welcoming with good vibes. I just wish they had a couple workers walking around the dispensary floor to ask & answer questions if needed instead of asking at the counter or when paying. They will help you tho when you ask. Overall I'm a fan of Sessions & grateful they are the first smoking lounge in San Diego. I really wanted to love this place because my first visit was actually great. Unfortunately, every visit after that has gone downhill. The first time I visited with friends, both the dispensary and lounge were enjoyable and everyone was friendly. The second visit was completely different. We brought someone who had never been before, and there was almost no customer service from the dispensary. Once upstairs in the lounge, we had a reservation but were seated at a tiny table that didn't fit our party. Our server brought water, took our order, and then disappeared. Our food came out before our gravity bong, and despite sitting there for quite a while, we were never checked on once. Meanwhile, every surrounding table received attentive service. The host was the one who noticed we needed water and helped us. After waiting a long time for a manager, we eventually had to walk to the host stand ourselves. The manager was fantastic. She apologized, comped part of our bill, gave us complimentary lounge passes, and promised our next visit would be a VIP experience. That was honestly the only reason we decided to come back. Unfortunately, our next visit wasn't any better. We stopped by the dispensary to purchase a hash hole that was advertised as 40% off. I also had a $15 promotional reward emailed to me after the previous experience. The email states the reward can be used at checkout within seven days, but nowhere does it mention that it can't be combined with existing promotions. At checkout I was told I had to choose one or the other because they don't stack discounts. The issue wasn't even losing the $15. It was the lack of transparency and the continued lack of hospitality. We weren't greeted, the host seemed bothered that we were there, and the budtender barely acknowledged us while focused on the computer. At this point, the common denominator has been inconsistent customer service. The lounge manager did everything she could to make things right, and I genuinely appreciated her professionalism, but unfortunately the overall experience has been disappointing enough that we won't be returning. If management focuses on creating a more welcoming experience and trains staff to be more attentive, I think this place has a lot of potential because the concept itself is really cool. read more

Visited Sessions by the bay over the weekend. It is just a short drive from the new Gaylord Pacific hotel. So if you're visiting from out of town, you have a convenient place to legally smoke and eat. Since it was our first visit, we didn't know exactly what to expect but the staff was so helpful from greeting to checkout. We were greeted warmly upon entering and had to fill out a few waivers and show ID. After that, we were welcomed into their dispensary with so much selection, you could find anything you wanted from traditional flower to bath soaks and mints to bowls and pipes. They had a special going on as well for new customers. We made our dispensary purchase with Ruby so was seemed friendly and down to earth. She advised us to check out each restroom as they were all painted and decorated differently. We loved all the artwork and the bathrooms were pretty clean. On the way to the lounge are more smaller rooms with dispensary-specific artwork, some in a more vintage style. Great for photo ops. Once at the lounge, we were seated inside and took in the forest vibes. The music was loungey yet comforting. The air flowed really well so while we were smoking, we didn't feel like we were sitting in anyone else's smoke. The outside seating area looked fun too. It would be a great place to catch a sunset. We enjoyed the breakfast burger, fries, and sweet potato fries. The food was pretty good and we loved that breakfast was served all day. We did wish there was a plate underneath the fry baskets as crumbs and oil got all over the table. There is a 90 mins time limit for seating. Service was a little slow, so make sure you know what food and drinks you want right when you sit down. I want to start with the positives, because most people will agree: the decor, location, and overall vibe are great. That's what keeps people coming back. I've been here over five times and intentionally waited to leave a review because I wanted to give the establishment a fair chance. Unfortunately, the service has been very hit or miss. The last three visits were especially disappointing. We were seated in the back booths where you can't see the stage or performances. I even suggested to my sister to tell the host that they need to add TVs in those areas so guests don't feel disconnected from the experience. In a party of seven, two people weren't given menus, waited 8-10 mins before I got up and got one. The pretzel bites were dry all three times we ordered them. One of our visits was for a birthday movie night while Step Brothers was playing, which should have been a fun, smooth experience but it wasn't. On our most recent visit (just yesterday), I actually told my friend that the service seemed to be improving because a few staff members were very attentive. However, that changed when the bill came. We ordered a bazookie for dessert after a long day. Because there was a sign downstairs saying "cash only," I went to withdraw cash. I placed the cash in the bill holder and waited about five minutes for someone to return. When the server finally came back, we waited another 8-10 minutes for our change, and the restaurant wasn't even busy. When she returned, she dropped the bill quickly and walked away. When we opened it, our change was given entirely in quarters. Yes, it's still money, but it made it difficult to leave a proper tip, especially since two other staff members had helped us that night when our server wasn't available. I wanted to tip them properly and give credit where it was due. To add to the frustration, I accidentally left my jacket. I called for five days straight and left multiple messages, as did my sister, and never received a call back. This place truly has the potential to be a 5-star establishment, but the inconsistency in service, food quality, music, and follow-up really takes away from what could be a great experience. read more

Unfortunately it's literally a crustable! A deep fried crustable they made and called stuffed French toast. I have never reviewed a pot shop and I dont think I ever will again but this one deserves it. The deals on the 50% off shelf were so good that we got 4 different packs of 100mg edibles for a total of $45. Thats crazy. I was worried that they weren't going to be strong especially because they said "canibuss infused" but i think that is just a california law about wording. In particular the sativa fruit bowl live rosin ones were strong. The staff is incredibly helpful and knows what they are talking about. The check in and check out was effective and fast as well. They told us all about their lounges and even though we didnt have time for them, they sounded great. The atmosphere was great as well. Good lighting and displays that make you want to look around for a while. We will be back for sure and highly recommend you check them out. read more

Really wanted to like this place and it's sort of cool that it exists and the atmosphere is good, but the service wasn't good and the whole process is confusing for first time guests and nothing was explained to me, I had to ask all the questions. We had a reservation for the lounge and went to the dispensary first. Definitely recommend doing that which is actually a loophole because you can just buy 2 drinks you would normally buy in the lounge and skip the $5-$10 entrance fee (trying to charge us for air) buying what we would have bought in the lounge anyway. When we got to the lounge this is where things fell short for me starting with the service. I wanted to get some sort of shareable bong with hoses but was recommended something else that didn't have hoses and I'll be honest here I'm someone who hasn't hit a bong before so the whole thing was new to me. The server (didn't get the guy's name) explained it but in a condescending attitude like I was a complete idiot for not knowing how to do something I've never done. We ended up being confused by the bong we got and I ended up buying joints which made things a lot easier but then they tried to charge us for the bong we didn't use. The food here is just ok at best, I'm not sure if they allow you to bring your own food but it they do I'd recommend that instead. I got the fries and they might be the worst I've ever had which says a lot. How did they mess up French fries you ask? They were these weird half curly fries which I can't explain further but look at the picture I took. The hell are those? Then going back to the dispensory to buy a couple more things somehow took 30 minutes of standing in line! Slow cashiers and not enough of them! Atmosphere: there was different vibes all in once space! I really dug the dispensary on the 1st floor to then make your way upstairs to the lounge. There was a bar area and restaurant and cafe style seating. Also had a decked off low light vibe off in a lounge space. Bathrooms are gender neutral. And ofc the sun outside patio deck for those that wanna be outside/inside on a good day. I sat and smoked at the bar, then moved to the outdoor patio. I wanna dine in the lounge next time! You can use a variety of their smoking products and tools or smoke your own. Menu: I got the kale salad, that was raved by more than 1 server. Which was definitely delicious and pretty filling with the munchies. I also got the Kushpresso Martini ( a kush mocktail spin on expresso martini) which drinks can be infused! The food cannot though. The DJ is in the center spinning immaculate vibes and even better beats. Food is solid and the ahi tuna noodle bowl was amazing, pretzel bites were clutch and the mocktails are unique with your pick of adding a 3 or 10 mg tincture. I had a boba one and it was ok, a little too sweet for me but the tincture definitely did its trick. Overall, this place is fun, unique and a must-visit. Literally one of the best places I've ever been to! I took my grandparents here as they never knew anything like this existed & they were so happy. The staff & owner Alex ensured they had an amazing time, they were truly in awe. The food was great, the vibes... *chefs kiss*, fair priced, & so fun! I recommend the lounge to anyone who just wants a good chill time. The dispensary itself is great too, looks beautiful on the inside & outside! So the positives: This place is a vibe. I know it's only been open a few months but it has the potential to be a go to spot in San Diego. Promotion being smoked out by a company you bought from is awesome Ice cold bongs The host and security guards were very friendly The cons: This list is long but I'm hoping they take it as constructive feedback Firstly making you buy $80 worth of product or you have to pay a $10 cover is crazy. Some people don't smoke that much. $50 is more reasonable AC it's 90 fricken degrees and you don't have the AC on? I thought this place had state of the art air filtration Flower selection is very small compared to most clubs. Like one counter worth. With the exception of the very friendly security guards all the guys working seemed like they were on coke or Red Bulls. Like you want the vibe to be chill and I felt like they were always speedwalking damn near shoulder checking me making me uncomfortable. Our server didn't know much about the equipment. We asked him about a device we were renting I said I wanted to know if it could be used for flower and oil & if so I wanna buy one for my wife for her birthday next week. And he basically said google it you can't use it for both here we don't want to clean it Which is fine I can google it. The best way to describe this server was mildly attentive. He took our drink order and said the kitchen is closing in half an hour can I get you guys anything. I said just an order of fries. He clearly forgot and then blamed the kitchen 45 minutes later. We are high and hungry! lol had to stop and get fries on the way home and pay the babysitter for an extra 30 minutes. All of these are minor complaints and easy fixes. This biggest bust here is the food. What a terrible menu both food and drinks and design. A total afterthought. We should be able to order absolute filth. Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. Trash can nachos. Birria ramen. And every other item should have a vegan version or you should have a separate vegan menu with 8-10 items. The food menu here has to be hurting business they need to fire whoever they chose for it seriously. The dispensary is great, however the lounge needs a lot of work! I came on a Friday night and there was one server for the entire restaurant... so service was essentially nonexistent. I had duck wings, strawberry salad and the California burrito. My salad was very good and fresh, however the red chunks of onion were sliced so thick that I had to eat around them. The duck wings were interesting and the California burrito was very bland. It reminded me of a microwave burrito. Although the food and service were a miss, the vibe and design of this place is amazing! There is nowhere like it in National City. The design is vibrant. The music was fun, and the layout was great. I was sitting at a small table with my husband and there was an empty table between us and then another couple. The host tried to sit someone right in between us when there were so many open tables. A guy told the host "hey man why are you sticking us right in between when there's so many tables open?" It was so weird. I watched the host try to seat a few other tables and people immediately asked to be moved. Our server also told us "give me a minute." When we asked for the bill, I thought that was very rude. She never apologized for visiting our table a total of 3 times throughout 2 hours. Overall, I would be willing to visit again, but I'm hoping they improve on a few things! This place is great! Oh, and you will be searched. The prices are a little pricey than I usually pay but it's ALWAYS and you get to enjoy the vibe upstairs. All the staff are super friendly, outgoing and beautiful!! And if you spend $75 downstairs you get free entry upstairs. Upstairs is a vibe in its own! I love that atmosphere and smooth operations. It took a minute for us to be served but no biggie; we enjoyed the views and the decor. The food is Fuego! Anything and everything fits that munchy vibes! Oh, and who doesn't love breakfast all day! Love this place. The dispensary is beautiful. Very well stocked, and the staff are super nice and knowledgeable. They offer a discount for first time customers. We didn't plan on going upstairs to the restaurant but the guy that was helping us said that if you spend $50 in the dispensary, you can go upstairs and not pay a cover. I felt like a kid at Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. The decor is impeccable, even down to the ashtrays. It's whimsical, and the menu is full of options. I would say to go on a day or time that's not super busy, which is the evening on weekends. read more

This is the new spot! Wow, this place def took my breath away.. Love the vibe, excellent customer service and I truly loved the atmosphere & decor of the lounge. The food looked delicious so I will have to go back soon to try it. I made it just in time to take a few dabs and enjoy the music. Looking forward to coming here often! We came in at noon, bought from the dispensary and wanted to get lunch at the restaurant. We waited 10 minutes before even given water. It was us two and two other tables (not even busy). Then she told us they don't sell mocktails until 4pm.. I didn't see that anywhere? That's the main reason why we went.. mocktails and food. I feel like this was a waste of time and money.
