This was one of my favorite spots. The rooftop views are beautiful, especially at night, and the atmosphere is perfect for spending time with friends or celebrating a special occasion. The drinks were good, the service was attentive, and everything felt relaxed and enjoyable. I would absolutely visit again and highly recommend it for the views and the overall experience.

Awesome view, long lines to get in and for the bar but they moved very fast. A must see for the view of petco park and downtown San Diego. What a fun way to start the night

From a local waitress recommendation, as San Diego visitors, we had to check out ALTITUDE Sky Lounge. (The waitress was phenomenal so we knew she knew what she was talking about) She was RIGHT ON. This is the place to be to get the true San Diego vibe with wonderful skyline views of San Diego and the ocean. It was an early Monday evening so it wasn't too crowded. We had barstool views and next to a heater so very comfortable and very pleasing. Our bartender Noah was SOOOOO NICE! Per the recommendation we tried the Raspberry Mojito and it was SOOOOO tasty. Just the right combination of mix with raspberry. Noah also gave us a few tips of places to go and eat around San Diego. We absolutely love San Diego and the Altitude Sky Lounge is a big reason why!

After dinner, I decided to stop by Altitude Sky Lounge for a late night drink and some dance music and it did not disappoint! It's located in the heart of the Gaslamp District on the 22nd floor of the Marriott hotel. It's an outdoor bar/lounge with a small dance floor surrounded by small tables and bar seats all along the edges of the lounge overlooking downtown. It's very close to convention center and Petco Park so you get nice views of both. The lounge serves both food and drinks. The bouncers are all friendly and professional. The bathrooms were clean. The servers were friendly and checked in periodically to see we if needed anything. Shout out to the DJ who was playing some good 90s and early 2000 hip hop music. Parking is always a challenge in downtown but there is an ACE parking lot right next to the hotel. It was $16 for the night. I would definitely return again for a fun night out!

I've been here a few times, I love the view. You can see Petco Park from up here. At least you can see and hear the crowd. You can see the marina and it's just fun being up that high. The drinks are good and the people who work there are helpful.

Altitude has been on the SD bucketlist for awhile, and finally made it out! Great rooftop views (esp at sunset), and you can watch a Padres game from up there!! They give off elevated dive bar / sports bar vibes. It's a great time! Drinks are not bad - as expected, and they serve bites! Flatbread pizza and pretzels were pretty dece. But they're served from the Marriott hotel room service, which included a 20% service fee, not including tip. If friends are visiting from out of town, I'd take them here!

Great place for a rooftop bar. You get to see Downtown, Petco park, convention center, Coronado bridge and surrounding area. It's a little outdated but fun vibes all around. The bartenders and staff are friendly. They have security, it's extra safe.

Great view and friendly service. Delicious drinks and a top tier perspective right into the Padres stadium for game day lovers.

I finally tried this spot out after we stayed over night in downtown. The view itself is worth the trip. The cocktails were pretty good and albeit they had a small menu of food items, the food was also decent (I had a burger). They have a setup for food delivery to you as long as you have the pager (security gave it to me). You can figure out payment for it once delivered. Expect to drop some bills here if you are doing food and drinks.

Stopped by for some drinks with my girlfriends the other night after having dinner in DT. The last time I was here was probably a decade ago. Altitude Sky Lounge is located inside the Marriott hotel. Upon entering the hotel, the elevator line was intimidatingly long, but moved pretty quick. Awesome views from the rooftop. The drinks were alright. The food was terrible. Pretzel Sticks: salty asf. Even after wiping off the salt, the pretzel was still salty asf. Think I got high blood pressure now... Fried Calamari: cold. It tasted like leftover calamari that had been sitting out at room temperature. Not crispy nor fresh whatsoever. brussel sprouts: edible. I know one shouldn't expect to enjoy good food when visiting a rooftop bar, but yikes, the food was terrible. Come here only for drinks and views. Volume could be louder.

View of the bay at sunset

We arrived about a half hour before sunset and took a seat along the side of the rooftop. Taylor was our waitress and she was delightful! Amazing views of both the bay and the game. Huge firepit behind us. Bar was lit nicely when it was dark. They had tv's so you could watch the game. Fun drink choices to choose from. Leaving, the bouncers were friendly and wished us well.

I have been going to Altitude Sky Lounge for years, however, I only get there periodically. I was there recently with a friend who was visiting from out of town. I decided to update my review since it was written in 2008. We arrived around 10PM on a Friday night. I would say that it was moderately crowded. From past experience, it is much more crowded during baseball games or events at Petco Park. I think it is fun to take friends from out of town there for the views... especially baseball fans as you can see the whole ballpark very clearly. Anyway, we bought a couple of drinks and then grabbed some seats near the side overlooking the view. There are some tables and an area with a fire pit, but I prefer to go for the view rather than sitting in the other areas. Our margaritas were about $12 each, which was reasonable for the location. Music was more old school hip hop that night. I'm not sure if that is typical. There is no dance floor or anything else too exciting going on. I think it is a great place to stop for a drink or two, but not necessarily a destination for an entire evening. I imagine I will continue to stop by periodically and bring out of town guests with me.

    Do you need reservations?

It is first come first served unless you reserve a table with bottle service.

    Does it take reservations?

    Is the 18+ or 21+?

This is a 21+ only venue.

    Is there a Happy hour?

Hi Anita. Yes, we have happy hour Monday- Friday from 5pm until 7pm. We look forward to welcoming you!

What sort of music are they playing in 2023? Alt rock?

I am 19 in the Army, married to a 23 year old...wondering if I might be able to attend with my wife (I don't drink)?

Under 21 allowed if not drinking?

Nope, no one under 21 allowed

What time is food served until during the week?

My recollection is 5 PM but you can always call to check.

    Can you smoke a cigar?

No, because there is no smoking at all.

What kind of music do they play on saturdays?

They didn't have music on the Sat night we were there, then again Garth Brooks was going to preform that night. They could barely handle the clientele that they had that night, I can't imagine if they had music too.

    Is this place 18+?

No it is not 18+ but if you bring kids, avoid a Darwin candidate award, do not stand them up or sit them on the ledge for pictures.

If it's busy do Marriott guests get priority of some sort or is it first come first serve?

If you are staying at the hotel itself, there's a line by the elevators to go up to altitude. Bring your room key. There may be a short line, but nothing like the regular line.

Do they have a cover for guys?

Unless there us a new urban dictionary meaning for cover the answer is no. We have been there many times and neither of us recall there being a cover charge (fee). Of course you could call them... 619-696-0234

We made a reservation and although we arrived on time, we had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. I agree with some of the other commenters when they say that the revolving fireplace needs some love. It has the look and feel of needing to be updated. Also, for it to be a "speakeasy" vibe, you could hear the loudness of the bar through the walls. It just kind of ruins the facade a little bit. Regardless, we enjoyed the novelty of being slowly admitted to the speakeasy on the opposite side. We were given seats and upon first glance it was a dark lit space with an old fashioned aesthetic. I was surprised to see how casual everyone was dressed- I assumed there was a dress code, but I guess flip flops made the cut ‍. It took a few minutes for our server to attend to us, and when he did you could tell he was slammed. We just didn't get the table side manner one was hoping for an establishment like this. Peeking at their drink menu, I found myself disappointed that much of their options had a lot of sweet or fruit juice ingredients. So, I went for their old fashioned. For the price, it was just okay. Another disappointing moment. In all, it wasn't terrible, but it just isn't worth the hype. Overpriced and mediocre drinks and a seemingly overworked staff didn't make for a memorable experience and ended up not being for us. Glad to have tried it...but look elsewhere if you've actually been to a speakeasy. This just doesn't live up to what it's trying to sell you.

Our group was surprised as is was 2115, it's been open for about an hour and a half and packed. One would not be disappointed. The cocktail menu was on an old record, which I thought it was so clever. Back to the rules, seems pretty easy! They mention to keep an open mind with the drinks as they do not carry vodkas, redbull, Budweiser or bulls**t. Mentioned a dresscode, more so be classic and states be respectful and don't be a di*k. It is incredibly disappointing and dangerous for a business's security team to lack the basic situational awareness and training required to identify the actual victim in a situation. Really glad about this newer rooftop spot. The views were so lovely & the array of seating options…read moreis great, too. We all loved our cocktails that we got-- especially the spicy margarita! Started with the Mango Shrimp Ceviche and it was 10/10. Fresh shrimp, good flavor and balance of sweetness & citrus... but what stood out the most was their delicious fried tortillas that came with it... never had such a satisfying crunch from a tortilla! The spicy chicken sandwich was one of the best we've had in San Diego. DEFINITELY coming back for it. The tacos were mid, though. Not much flavor and the carne asada tacos didn't have much to them, meat was a bit dry and could've used more toppings or sauce of some sort. One of our blackened fish tacos came extremely close to completely raw and we sent it back. They didn't apologize or anything but just brought one fresh one that was cooked. That's the only reason for my four star rating. Our waiters were extremely nice though, I do think they are still figuring things out as we sat for twenty minutes waiting for a server because they didn't know whose table it was. It wasn't busy at all at that time. Overall, absolutely coming back for the drinks, views, and that DELISHHH chicken sandwich!!
