Generous portions and great food. The chicken tenders are amazing! Very friendly service as well.

After a long day from traveling from Fort Myers FL to Fenton MI we decided to stop in and grab a calzone and a salad. We were greeted by a young gal who was so kind and generously shared the coupons that were currently available for their restaurant. Her customers service was A++. We ended up just splitting our meal which was a good idea because the meal was enormous. We still had to get a to go box to take our leftovers. While we were there waiting for our food, the owner came out to greet us. He was awesome, he shared some of his travel stories with us and then he brought us over some of their chicken strips (which we had to take home with us. We were so full). We tried him once we got home and they were once again amazing just like everything else that we had for dinner that night. This place is a must try restaurant and if we lived locally, we'd probably be there weekly.. Good luck Hippo's We wish you all the success in the world. You guys are amazing. Food was amazing! Prices are great and tons of food for the price. Could of gotten away with the 4 tender meal to split but we got the pizza log also. Everything was tasty and would definitely come again! Service was quick, fast and attentive we dinned in. Small shop a few small tables and a couple family sized tables, cute chalk board I could see my kids doodling on and they even have hand dipped ice cream options, we didn't embark on due to being so stuffed from our lunch. read more

We ordered the chicken and chicken strips. Both were amazing. The pizza had some type of taste that I was not sure of, and it was refreshingly good. Cheese, spice, sauce I'm not sure what it was but I like it. The chicken was melt in your mouth. I had the old man sauce, bbq, blue cheese and parm garlic. All were really tasty. read more

The food was awful the chicken tasted like banquet extremely salty. My wife's food was about the same. My sons pizza was great and bread sticks were good. This is a case of having to many things on a menu. The desert was a joke quit trying to do to much. Tone down the menu remember you need to be better than good. This crap went to my . Manager always finds time to say hello whenever we stop in for food and ice cream. Friendly staff and the food is always fresh and hot. Definitely recommend this place. I also love that they use paper straws instead of plastic. Kids love the huge chalk board. So many flavors of ice cream to choose from. We've had their pizzas, bread sticks, chicken tenders and ice cream. read more

I placed an order through Grubhub and when the driver went to Hippo's they told him that they do not accept Grubhub. They said that the person at the counter was new and made a mistake by accepting the order. Even though they knew that I ordered they didn't make the food and waited until the driver arrived to tell him that they did not make it. I called and spoke to the owner who took zero responsibility even though he admitted that he had reached out to Grubhub for information and is aware that they list Hippos on their website. He told me that this happens about once a month but he cannot do anything about it. He made a racist comment about Grubhub customer service being Indians who are not able to speak English. When I asked him why he doesn't post something on his site to warn customers he said that Americans are too stupid to read. I think that he is wrong on all counts and I decided to write this review so that you could avoid this place. read more
