I communicated this change very quickly to the staff member before she had begun preparing the beverage. Moreover, the new drink I requested actually cost the same as the one I originally purchased. Although she agreed to make the new drink, her body language and facial expression made it clear that she was annoyed by the request. When the drink was finished, it was noticeably underfilled, leaving a surprisingly large gap between the liquid and the lid. Unfortunately, the taste of the drink itself was also disappointing, as it mostly just tasted like milk rather than matcha. Finally, I was disappointed with the value for the price. The donut I ordered was quite small, yet it cost around five dollars. I understand that people have hard days, and I typically do not write reviews, but I wanted to share this feedback so these issues can be addressed internally.

For dessert, the chocolate kouign-amann was a total standout, super crispy on the outside with those rich, sweet layers inside. I paired it with an iced chai latte, which was perfectly spiced and not overly sweet. They have a small outdoor seating section that is perfect for catching some fresh air while you eat. The coffee is a nice addition but, the main attraction is the bakery! The bakery is in the Bishop Arts area so, you can find some free parking depending on when you visit. On the weekends, the line will move fast so, don't be afraid to wait.

The story she shared with us that day was truly inspiring, it was clear that this wasn't just a business, but a passion built from purpose and heart. Recently, I made the drive to her current shop in Irving, Texas. It's a bit of a distance for me, but I truly enjoy supporting businesses like this. The new location is such a step up cute, welcoming, and in a great area. I treated myself to butter pecan ice cream with Fruity Pebbles, and it honestly reminded me that even as an adult, it's okay to enjoy the little things that bring happiness. I highly recommend that the business remains in this location; the community was incredibly welcoming and clearly excited to have ZZ's Ice Cream there. Amazingly, we got to try them all and with all the salty, savory food we started to look for some dessert to balance out our palate. That's when we stumbled on a stand that advertised cake balls. Yup. CAKE BALLS. We were all pretty full, but still wanted to try them all. I mean, when you're presented with the choice of Snickers, Oreos, Butterfinger, Cinnamon and Sugar, [Fruity] Pebbles, or Cherry Glaze it's pretty hard to single out the best flavor. I ended up getting their 3 most popular ones: Snickers, Butterfinger and Pebbles. There's one thing that you need to know about these cake balls. They're not like any other you've tasted. Usually, cake balls are made from a mixture of cake batter with a lot of icing to keep it moist. Beckett's method is to use a donut hole as the base encased in a layer of their own special frosting with your choice of candy or cereal. It sounds simple and mundane, but I can assure you that these were some of the best cake balls I've ever had in my life. The donut base was pillowy and moist. With the super sweet frosting it melded perfectly into what seemed like a piece of heaven in every bite. The crushed candy was the icing on the cake, per say, adding different flavors and textures to each ball. I really can't explain it more than I have. It was just pure awesomeness. In an environment where pretty much everything is fried it was a welcome surprise to find a stand that served something different. I spoke with the owners and they said they were in the process of relocating their business from Tulsa, OK to Dallas. Their presence in the Big D will allow us to enjoy some of these awesome cake balls year round instead of having to wait until the State Fair runs each year. Happy dance. It had a nice, warm, and welcoming feel, which made it a comfortable spot to sit and enjoy a quick treat. The staff was attentive and took my order pretty quickly, which I appreciated. My Americano came out hot and had a really good bold flavor. I love adding cream to my coffee, and once I did, it balanced out that strong kick perfectly. The beignets were made fresh to order and took about 7 minutes to come out. They were hot, soft, and very fluffy, almost more similar to a donut than a traditional beignet. Since most of my beignet experience comes from New Orleans, Louisiana, I definitely had a different texture in mind going in. I personally wish they had been a little crispier, especially around the edges, but they were still decent and enjoyable. Overall, I had a good experience. Between the welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, good coffee, and fresh beignets, I would definitely try Le Bon Temps again without hesitation.
