Cake donuts, Fritters, and Holes, oh my!
    Jen R.

This store's spot is, yes indeed, very unassuming (aaalmost a touch of seediness, but less so now that the once empty lot next door is a shiny new lube center ). BUT! There's no denying that their modest offerings are always reliable, perfectly made, and open WAY early (four o'clock in the morning!) Over the past few years it's become my staple (before my store's weekly 5am delivery receiving shift), to pop in for some treats for the staff and myself. Try a couple of Kolaches: those heavenly Texan creations that contain the juiciest sausage (with or without cheese) inside the fluffiest yeast roll kissed with a brush of butter. A couple of times they've still been warm right off the prep tray! Or, try a few cake donuts - plain, or glazed, or blueberry. Or a fritter, bear claw, or twist. Or a ham and cheese croissant sandwich. OR: just stick to the core supply of freshly glazed rings of DELICIOUSNESS-- icing, sprinkles, and velvety dough. Perfectly fried, never stale or rancid tasting, and, as always, modestly priced. Did I mention also unfailingly open at 4am? Even at that time there's a steady trickle of customers, with only one instance I waited in line. Don't forget to tip a little cash, and tell the owners kamsahamnida () after you've bit into a filled danish or a donut hole, melting like that delicately crisp sugar crust.

Located near Inwood and Cedar Springs is this hole in the wall shop that serves up a variety of donuts. From a selection standpoint there is plenty to choose from. You have your glazed, chocolate with coconut sprinkles and maple. And if you're feeling meaty, they have a few kolaches to choose from. From a flavor standpoint however, its just missing something. Sugary. Sweet. Doughy. Pulaski's donuts has all the core elements of a traditional donut shop but still lacks that extra umph to take it over the top. Price-wise, its very standard. Moderate bang for buck ratio here. All in all its worth a try. It wont break the bank but it also wont steal your heart away. Id possibly try again.

$4 credit card limit Pulaski's Donuts off of Inwood and Cedar Springs Rd. 3012 Inwood Rd Dallas TX 75235.

One of the nicer locations for donuts in the medical district area. On the corner of Inwood and Cedar Springs Rd. Very clean and well maintained inside. This was probably one of the largest donut counters I had seen in the over 10 Ive visited in the area which was surprising because they didn't offer any speciality donuts, just the standard flavors you'd expect. $4 credit card limit, so bring cash if you're purchasing for one. Prices are a little more than I'd like (see menu photos) but the boxes you get with a dozen are decorated. I actually ordered quite a bit (shy of a dozen) but instead of giving me a box to carry everything, she stuffed my food inside those little wax/tissue paper holders- not a bag. I was a little peeved at this. Maybe request a box upfront if you don't want your food to easily squished. I tried one regular ($0.99) and one large jalapeño kolache ($2.49) (they don't have a small/regular size jalapeño kolache- bummer). There's cheese inside the actual sausage in both and the jalapeño one had finely chopped bits of jalapeño into it that made every bite feel like you were getting a little kick with it. The sausages in the Large look like a regular hot dogs in full honesty. I didn't try the bacon one but it literally had a whole strip of bacon lying on top of the sausage if that's you're thing. Bacon Jalapeño kolache a come in regular ($1.39) and large ($2.69). My biggest complaint bedsides pricing is the location- smack dab in the middle of a school zone- across from a school so not the greatest place to go to in a rush. Otherwise I thought they had the fluffiest, most airy tasty donuts that tasted like you but into a cloud with some of the most densely packed sausage rolls I've had in the area.

My hubby and I came here today for a donut (or two) this morning because we thought Maple Donuts down the street was closed on Sunday's. We walked in and looked at the variety of donuts and fitters and choose a three glazed and three chocolate and two milks. Our total was around $8. Not bad for a breakfast for three. The donuts were good. Nothing spectacular. The service was not the greatest. I still prefer Maple Donuts down the street. Plus they have a drive-thru.

Very bad customer service from the lady. Seemed as if like we bothered her by asking for a dozen. First and last time I buy from here.

Some of my friends and I recently went to the State Fair to get acquainted with the finalists of…read morethe Big Tex Choice Awards. Amazingly, we got to try them all and with all the salty, savory food we started to look for some dessert to balance out our palate. That's when we stumbled on a stand that advertised cake balls. Yup. CAKE BALLS. We were all pretty full, but still wanted to try them all. I mean, when you're presented with the choice of Snickers, Oreos, Butterfinger, Cinnamon and Sugar, [Fruity] Pebbles, or Cherry Glaze it's pretty hard to single out the best flavor. I ended up getting their 3 most popular ones: Snickers, Butterfinger and Pebbles. There's one thing that you need to know about these cake balls. They're not like any other you've tasted. Usually, cake balls are made from a mixture of cake batter with a lot of icing to keep it moist. Beckett's method is to use a donut hole as the base encased in a layer of their own special frosting with your choice of candy or cereal. It sounds simple and mundane, but I can assure you that these were some of the best cake balls I've ever had in my life. The donut base was pillowy and moist. With the super sweet frosting it melded perfectly into what seemed like a piece of heaven in every bite. The crushed candy was the icing on the cake, per say, adding different flavors and textures to each ball. I really can't explain it more than I have. It was just pure awesomeness. In an environment where pretty much everything is fried it was a welcome surprise to find a stand that served something different. I spoke with the owners and they said they were in the process of relocating their business from Tulsa, OK to Dallas. Their presence in the Big D will allow us to enjoy some of these awesome cake balls year round instead of having to wait until the State Fair runs each year. Happy dance. If you're looking for something different keep your eyes peeled for Beckett's. I'm sure you will enjoy their cake balls as much as I did.

My Americano came out hot and had a really good bold flavor. I love adding cream to my coffee, and once I did, it balanced out that strong kick perfectly. The beignets were made fresh to order and took about 7 minutes to come out. They were hot, soft, and very fluffy, almost more similar to a donut than a traditional beignet. Since most of my beignet experience comes from New Orleans, Louisiana, I definitely had a different texture in mind going in. I personally wish they had been a little crispier, especially around the edges, but they were still decent and enjoyable. Overall, I had a good experience. Between the welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, good coffee, and fresh beignets, I would definitely try Le Bon Temps again without hesitation.
