In midsummer Food City turned all of their self check-out lines to 15 items or less, thereby dismissing any customer with large orders that prefers to self check-out. Some of the registers to 15 or less items seems reasonable, but all of them? I emailed Corporate and heard nothing so I began doing all of my large purchases at Kroger and Walmart. On several occasions I would go into Food City and see dirty animals in the grocery cart. I find this practice to be unacceptable, especially knowing that the dirtiest part of the animal is where my fresh fruits and vegetables will be. On my last visit, while in the check-out line, I asked an employee to get the Manager. She asked "why". I told her that the dog behind her should not be in the grocery cart. She turned around and looked at the dog and said, "it's a service dog (it was not) and you have no reason to be concerned, so you just need to mind your own business". Again, I made a request for a Manager. When the Manager arrived I told him that the dog in the cart should not be there. As the Manager was approaching the customer with the dog, the employee leaned into my face and said, "I don't know why you are getting involved in this, it's none of your business, you are just causing trouble for people and you need to just leave these people alone". I told her to "shut up"! She started yelling, "You can't tell me to shut up". The Manager turned around and told her to stop acting that way and she started yelling at him and saying "she told me to shut up and she can't tell me to shut up". I looked at both of them and said, "I'm done with Food City" and started walking out. The employee yelled after me, "I'm glad you're done, we don't want people like you here". Let's not forget that Food City has a big sign when you enter the store that says: NO PETS ALLOWED! I emailed Corporate. Have I heard from Food City? No I have not.

Then the driver didn't have his partner and there was a mix-up in the delivery person via his boss. The item was defective and management wanted me to bring the maor appliance back. Then when through constant phone calls they did pick it up, they then charged me for the pick up of their defective item. This store's managment should be fired along with the delivery service as other people have mentioned that they are not doing a good job with delivery or know-how as to installing whatever appliance they bought. I will NOT recommend this store to anyone and I will not buy anything from that store. Neither will five of my church members who had horror stories of their own. They disrespect a customer, tell lies, and pretty much are hoping that they can cheat you out of money by charging YOU delivery service for them taking back their defective product.

Don is the sole reason that this review went from one to five stars, and after being told by the man at the counter multiple times nothing can be done. Don made it right like an honest man would. Props to him, train the tool rental manager on customer service and policy.

It wasn't until the flooring was 3/4 installed that we realized that we were shorted, after sorting through all the damaged product that we were assured was inspected before it was given to us. They did order (more but they refused to deliver) and that's when we realized that the packaging was different. They had repackaged damaged flooring to make it look "new" and it was damaged and misprinted. The new packaged material was so much better that the rest of out floor looks bad. Calls were ignored and customer service wasn't any better. Promises to look into the matter resulted in dropped correspondence. Finally we were offered a store credit for a pittance of what we paid. The floor looks bad, poor quality of materials, unethical practices of selling used as new and not making good on their promises. Save your money. Shop elsewhere. If you have a problem you'll be left doing what we are doing.

U bolts had to be removed from my air bags. Well they were a bit rusted so Leonard's cut them off and said I had to buy new ones. The finish on the door was 3/4 good, but 1/4 like it was sanded with a brick. I reported it Immediately to the contractor, who sent photos and reported to Wilburn. A month passed with no response. Finally, I contacted the sale person myself. I was told that I should contact the distributor. The distributor said " they can't lose money on the sale" and offered no assistance. I was then referred to the manufacturer (Hoelscher Weatherstrip), who said it is the distributor's problem. I called the distriburor, Central Woodwork, who said, you have to contact Wilburn Hardware, and offered no help. I contacted the owner of Wilburn, who said, I should not have stained it myself (after their salesman said I should) and sometimes these irregularities happen. Of course they do when you substitute a brick for sand paper or drag it through a parking lot. They did not offer to inspect it in person or offer any remedy to fix it. The owner's only rebuttal was that I still owed for the door I had paid for on delivery. Essentially Wilburn Hardware has NO service after they take your money. I will not do business there again. Next stop, BBB.
