Two sisters (Elissa & Holly) married two brothers (Matt & Mike) and started this weekend project which has turned into quite a fun weekend escape. Elissa and her father, Walt, are usually manning the tasting room and are the most gracious hosts. It's a quaint, boutique winery and tasting room, which recently joined forces with the folks from Trois le Fou Winery. They each have their own tasting rooms, but they're joined and share a large production/barrel room area, which is also available for private events in addition to scheduled events and live music/comedy. They don't offer food, but you are welcome to bring in your own snacks/charcuterie. Parking is plentiful, as the business park is mostly closed on the weekends. WINES: Their wines change regularly, as they purchase their fruit from Paso Robles, Lodi, and San Antonio Valley, among other places. I think that their Sauvignon Blanc is a standard and we really enjoy it, but they also do a nice Sangiovese, Zinfandel, Malbec, Syrah, Petite Sirah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their "Speakeasy Wine Club" offers three levels of membership: "Blind Grape (6/yr)", "Bootlegger (12/yr)", and "Last Call (18/yr)", depending on the number of bottles you want per shipment/pick-up. Bottles currently run in the $38 - $50 range (before club member discounts). We love visiting the Lester Cellars family and highly recommend you stop in and check out their latest vintages. I appreciated the bow on the glass showing the pours, but I preferred the previous setup where everyone had their own individual tastings. It may seem small, and thankfully our group was fine sharing, but it made the experience feel less personal and honestly made us less interested in doing tastings again on future visits. Some people also may not feel comfortable sharing containers or touching the same glass. Nothing terrible at all, just some feedback from longtime visitors who loved how it used to be. Herzog provided everything we needed including breakfast, glassware and amazing lunch options. Not to mention adjustments when the weather shifted. A great layout. Best restroom facilities and information about their amazing winery and its history. I've been part of the Wine & Spirits industry since 2012 on an off and more recently back on + Herzog is one of the best and oldest kosher wineries in the world. Joseph Herzog is an amazing man and the VP of HWC, I met him a few times in the past but it's been YEARS. I didn't get a chance to speak with him directly, but he thanked us for coming out and along with the rest of the Herzon team/family was nothing but welcoming and thoughtful. One of my favorite draws about Herzog overall is that's is 100% vegan friendly as well as kosher, making it suitable for so many people. And Tierra Sur is very vegan friendly - some dishes are vegetarian. Do let they know about allergies and restrictions and they'll do their absolute best to accommodate. Their Alexander Valley wines are some of my favorites for sure.

Just stopped in to the tasting room here and it was fantastic. My buddy and I got to meet the owners and chat with some of their staff. Dave and Sandy were so knowledgeable about all the wine we tasted. The Scosso was one of the better red wine blends that I've had in a long time. I am very happy to have stumbled across this winery that's just north of Los Angeles! If anyone is heading toward the Ventura area, make sure to stop in and try one of the better wineries I've personal had the pleasure of experiencing in a long time. Thanks Four Brix! Glen and Karen are true winemaking gems, and this place is such a welcome addition to Ventura's growing wine scene. Their riesling is outstanding. Their creative events are always fun. This is a great place to go for a glass of wine and for a great time with friends....what's more: Four Brix has an awesome space to have a dinner party or wine reception for a company party or holiday event. Roseo 2010 is a blend of Grenache and Zinfandel. It has a bright raspberry color, intense fruit flavors of strawberry and watermelon, yet is made in the French Provence style, completely dry, well-structured and balanced with a lingering finish. I was lucky enough to be invited to Four Brix' Spring Fling event as a vendor. I spent two whole days with the awesome staff, sipping the best wines and "working." I never wanted to leave!!!!!
