This is definitely the spot to go for authentic Portuguese food stuffs. .I have had a hard time making it there during their business hours. My first two trips there were a near miss, but I finally lucked out last Saturday.I also really liked to selection of cooking vessels. I wish I had gotten there more than 20 minutes before closing. Anyway, I liked everything I saw and wish I had more time to explore and ask questions. The gentleman running the place seemed pretty friendly. They had a nice selection of salt cod. I had no idea what to but, but there were multiple things to choose from. I am more familiar with the sausage and canned seafood (octopus! sardines), so that is where I directed my efforts. The breads looked delicious and there was a nice selection of them as well. I ended up with some linguiça, some chorizo and a passionfruit chocolate bard that is destined for my friend Lily. I wanted to try some of the cheese and at least one of the breads, but it wasn't practical that day. definitely plan to go back after I've perused a cook book or two. If I had a quibble, it's a little dark. I wish it had a tad bit better lighting. One thing to note, the store is tucked away in a commercial area. Even when it's open, you might think it closed, at least on a Saturday. Just know you ARE in the right place. Go ahead and jump in. I'm sure you will find something delicious.

Really love the Linguisa here. I stop by once every six months to keep my freezer stocked up. Worth the stop kind of hidden in back of business park area.

Really an out of the way location. Hours not great for those who work. They do have all the usual products. Daughter loved the linguisa.

Great place for linguica and other Portuguese products. Locally owned too. In an industrial area but worth trying to find.

A lot of the staff automatically assume you speak Spanish, and it's actually pretty rare to find someone working who speaks English well enough to help. Sometimes it feels like it's inconvenient for the staff when you don't speak Spanish, which shouldn't be the case at all. I also found expired cat food while shopping and placed it to the side thinking someone would remove it, but when I came back two weeks later it was STILL sitting there expired. That was really concerning. Another frustrating change is the checkout process. It used to be convenient being able to buy beans, rice, and groceries all together, but now everything has to be done in separate transactions and separate lines, which just makes shopping take longer for no reason. I still go occasionally when I absolutely have to, but honestly if I find somewhere closer and more welcoming, I'd rather shop there instead.

For reference the disgusting expired ham was in between the non expired ham. La plaza is going downhill if they give this to customers.
