The semi-synthetic oil change was half $$ the cost quoted from 2 local shops. The shop performed a 12 point engine inspection and everything was fine. I shall return for a tire check because their 'sink tank' wasn't in service also returning for the recall. It's such a relaxing place with a large updated coffee shop with excellent prices on meals and snack as well as all of the foo foo coffees to choose from. French fries are only $2 for a box of string fries. Minus -1 point because the ketchup was really cold and sorta ruined to hot fries. I would have asked for a warm up but don't want to complain...much. Because this is a great place. Thank you Toyota!!

The absence of available service will undoubtedly influence my next choice of dealerships. You'll sell it to me, Fernelius, but 30 months later you're unable to find the time to repair it? Systemic maintenance issues are not particularly reassuring to the car-buying public.

I made it to the dealership and the young guy in the service pay was polite and directed me to speak to a lady in the office. I knew that it wasn't likely they would have time to work on it but I was hoping they could took a quick look and let me know if I could keep driving or if it needed repair. The lady informed me "all my guys are at lunch and I can't help you today." I tried to ask that I wanted to just know if it was safe to drive it and got a snide response. I left and called the Jeep dealership in Ypsilantii and the guy I talked to couldn't believe they wouldn't take 5 minutes to get a diagnostic code to determine if it was okay to drive or not. I was afraid of causing damage to my vehicle if I kept going but it was just a sensor issue and could have been resolved in minutes.

Not impressed. I…read morethought I would help out by dealing with the "local guy"...lots more options in larger areas like Gaylord, Petoskey, and Traverse City, but, silly me, here I went. GM employee deal, so the price is the same everywhere....just thought I was helping out the local economy. They totally bobbled the ordering process; only communication during the waiting for build and delivery was from me to them. Delivering sales person had no idea on truck and features; had to keep calling in service. Vehicle prep was 'ok', but not great. 13 months later...not a call, not a contact...nothing. I bought the 2nd most expensive vehicle in the store, paid cash (maybe that was part of the problem...no financing kick-back?), but not so much as a follow up. Nothing. Brought ANOTHER vehicle for service....found a lug nut on my driveway 2 days later after their tire rotation. Others were loose and about to fall off. Emails to Tom, the owner....not so much as a grunt in response. Thank goodness for Mandy in write up. It's absolutely, positively clear that I care more about dealing with "the local guy" then they do about taking care of a customer. Dexter the store dog cares INFINITELY more about the customers here than the management does.

This latest trip, I decided to replace my tires before the 10 hour trip home. I called the dealership on Monday (was told tires would be delivered next day). Show up for my service appointment on Wednesday and was told the tires hadn't arrived. Rescheduled for Thursday. Got a call Thursday noon still no tires. I am now officially done being jerked around by the dealership. Found Spies in a Google search, called, spoke with Joel and told him what I needed. By Friday at 1:26 (for 1:00 appointment) I had my new tires and the service was top notch. Even if you are a brand new customer they will treat as if you've been one for 20 years. I wish I had come to Spies from the start, but I KNOW where I will come in the future.
