Since then we come here for special occasions (I am quite picky and this is on my top 5 list) and when we realize it's been a while and are looking for consistently good food. I always order the Romano Chicken which comes with Risotto that I would love the recipe for. My husband usually goes with the Chicken parm which could feed a small army or one of their specials. Always come home with a bag of leftovers which are just as good the next day. Prices I feel are fair for the caliper of food they serve. Would highly recommend

Eventually I had to go to the hostess and let her know that we'd been sitting there the entire time without even being offered water. She did go inquire after our server, who then came over and took our order. So already our experience was tainted. Things seemed fine after that, but once we finished our meal we ordered dessert to go. The server brought boxes for our leftovers, took the dessert order, and then disappeared. Our party of five had to leave, and I was left sitting at the table with a toddler about 15 minutes after the meal ended waiting for the check. She eventually returned and apologized, saying she couldn't find the cake we ordered and had to go look for it. She then asked if we wanted bags for our to-go containers, after everything had already been packed up. Normally, the containers and bag are brought to the table together for leftovers. The last thing we wanted to do was wait another 10 minutes for bags for our leftovers. Overall, the experience was frustrating and poorly handled.

We were so entertained by the entire experience. Some folks might find it off-putting but we were just anticipating our next laugh for each interaction. This place is by reservation only. Do not attempt to walk-in and be served. Not only do you have to reserve in advance but you must also specify what your dinners are earlier in the day to ensure they have the necessary ingredients to prepare the food. That said, everything was absolutely delicious! We started with sautéed sweet peppers with cheese and then the house salad which was brought to us family style. Dinner was chicken Marsala and chicken parm. Each came with a side of pasta. Another diner had shrimp scampi over pasta. Plates, glasses are mismatched. It really is like eating in your Aunt's kitchen. Dining room is very small with a couple old tables. BYOB and Cash only.

They do have a menu, but since we showed up without a reservation, they warned us it would be a wait. No problem, the food was worth it every entrée at our table was delicious, and the homemade salad and dressing were outstanding. If you need to be coddled or have your rear kissed, this isn't your spot. But if you appreciate crabby Italian ladies with a sharp sense of humor (and the ability to make amazing food), you'll love it here. They were especially sweet with my kids, and I'd absolutely go back next time with a reservation in hand.

Our server was quick to our table to take our drink orders while we reviewed the menu. There are alot of options from pasta to sandwiches to pizza to other Italian dishes. A couple of minutes later another table was sitted in the same area. However, the hostess stated to the waitress wait on them first. We placed our order e.g. fish dinner and pierogi dinner and my wife asked for tarter sauce with her meal. She also ordered a glass of wine and extra napkins. We have our napkin and silverware but no plate for bread or appetizers. The waitress brought the bread but no plates. We asked for plates and extra napkins again. The waitress placed the tray holder up and we received our meal minus the plates and tarter sauce. Again we asked for plates, napkins and tarter sauce. The waitress left but kept the tray holder up at our table. The tray holder stayed there for two more passes by by our waitress. I finally got up and returned it to the original position against the wall. My wife had the vegetable of the day. It was horrible, no taste. There wasn't any butter or seasoning on the vegetables. My dinner was lukewarm at best. The waitress asked us if the meal was good and we explained our concerns that I mentioned above. The waitress stated sorry and left our table. We asked for a box to take the food home and the check. We receive our bill noticing that my wife was charge for a wine plus another "pour". We questioned this with our waitress and she said to take it up to the hostess and she'll take it off. Really?!? The tables that the waitress had near us had their plates taken off their table. However, there was ZERO attempt to remove our empty plates. My wife told the hostess about our dining experience but she could careless. We are trying to help local businesses in our neighborhood, but we can't continue to support this business if it remains this way.

Polka, pasta, and pure joy!…read more We came to Rizzo's Malabar Inn for Polka Night, and let me tell you--it wasn't just dinner, it was a memory. The music was so beautiful it brought actual tears to my eyes, and my 84-year-old mother was absolutely glowing. Watching her smile, tap her foot, and soak in every note was something I'll never forget. The polka? Incredible. The food? Out of this world. Every bite was rich, comforting, and full of old-school Italian flavor. ‍ The service? Flawless. And then--Chef Bill Shockley appeared like a culinary angel. Not only is his food amazing (seriously, this man is a magician with a sauce), but he came to our table, made a fuss over my mother, and treated her like royalty. She was absolutely over the moon. THAT is customer service. Thank you for employing Bill--he is truly a gem, and his personal touch made our night unforgettable. Special shoutout as well to our fantastic server and to the two young ladies who helped me make a reservation for our party of 11. They treated me like family from the very first call--kind, accommodating, and full of that signature Rizzo's hospitality. This wasn't just a meal--it was an experience that fed our hearts as much as our bellies. We'll absolutely be back. And next time? I'm bringing dancing shoes and an even bigger appetite.

It's been quite some time since we were there and we were impressed overall by the service and food. The decor is lovely and elegant with artwork and draperies giving it a luxurious feel. It feels special just to dine there. We were seated and immediately greeted by our server who filled water glasses and gave us a few minutes to look over the menus before coming back for our drink orders. Cocktails were delicious. I had the Aperol Sunset and my daughter had the Greensburg Paloma. We ordered a few appetizers, the Zucchini Romano, which was fried zucchini with Bruschetta like toppings of tomatoes and green peppers and the Octopus Salad, which was a smoked octopus with potatoes and olives. Both were unique and different takes on standard versions I've had before. I added a Parmesan Salad to my entree of Scallops. It was a huge plate of frisée with pistachios and Parmesan cheese and was large enough to share with my husband and kids. The dressing was nice and vinegary, reminiscent of eating at my Italian relatives (Cousin Benny's) house in Cleveland. Entrees we're all very impressive to look at and wonderful to eat. As I said, I had the scallops, of which there were 8 perched atop a bed of white asparagus and spinach risotto. Yummy! My husband had the crab cakes and said they were the best he ever had. No filler, all crab. As usual, my son ordered the filet which was perfectly cooked and tender as butter. My daughter had the papperdelle in a Bolognese sauce. The pasta tasted home made and with some Mozzarella mixed in , each bite was creamy and delicious. Portion sizes were fairly generous, so much so that some of us took home doggie bags. But we still had room for dessert! We got a cannoli and shared it. Half was pistachio and half was chocolate chips. It was very large and was really good. Our server was extremely nice, cheerful and attentive. The service was quick but not rushed. We had time to enjoy our courses before the others came and the meal was quite enjoyable. I'll be going back sooner rather than letting years go by with out a visit.
