I ordered from here a few weeks ago and got two chicken parm dishes and a slice of chocolate cake. I had been craving chicken parm for months and was really looking forward to it, which made the experience even more disappointing. When we got home, the food was very underwhelming. The chicken was clearly overcooked and tough. I had to cut through it several times just to get a bite sized piece. Even if I had dined in, I think it still would have been overcooked. The sauce also tasted overdone, like it had been sitting on the stove too long or kept under heat past its prime. The garlic knots were also lackluster and barely had any flavor. I could hardly taste any garlic, butter, or parmesan. Overall, both dishes tasted overcooked and not very well prepared. The sauce in particular did not taste homemade and seemed more like it came from a jar. The chocolate cake was the only part that was somewhat enjoyable. It was not bad, but it was nothing memorable either. Unfortunately, this was not a great experience and we will not be ordering again. I have tried here several times over the years. Granted the time between these visits were years, but I have always been underwhelmed by the pizza here and my last visit here shown me that Ferrara Pizza and Pasta is not a restaurant that gets better with time. Instead, they seem to be satisfied providing a mediocre pizza and bank on the multiple housing developments and the people living there will opt for convenience over a quality good experience and will continue to buy their so-so pizza and try to convince themselves that it is really not so bad. And you know, they are in essence right. The pizza is definitely so-so, it revels in mediocrity and wears a crown of the mundane as its achievement. This particular pizzeria is located in a strip mall on Curry Ford. It is the plaza that is just next to the plaza with the Publix right by Curry Ford Road and Dean Road. Parking is ok and the strip mall is relatively well maintained. Ferrara Pizza and Pasta has a corner spot (the one closer to the Publix). They have a decent special on Monday and I believe on Tuesday, as well, where they have pizza for about ten dollars. If memory serves correct, Inbelieve it used to be under eight dollars, but I know prices have skyrocketed, especially the price of cheese. I have opted to give it three stars (), but I really cannot give them a recommendation. I'm pleased that my first review of 2020 is a five star for one of my now favorite Italian restaurants! I didn't feel like going back into the cooking grind on New Year's Day, so we decided to try a new place via Uber Eats. I read through restaurants we hadn't tried yet, and we chose this one. I'm glad we did! I'm always iffy about red sauce, so I decided to order chicken florentino which has a garlic wine type sauce. My boyfriend ordered manicottis. The meals come with a side salad and garlic knots, and we also ordered 10 medium wings. The first thing I noted upon opening up the containers was that the portions are huge. My meal felt like it weighed over a pound, haha. We enjoyed our bread and salads first. The side salad is nothing special, but it's complimentary so nice to have. The garlic rolls were soft and tasty. The wings were cooked nicely and large. The medium is more like mild, which is fine by me since I'm a wimp about spice, but if you like more heat you may want to opt for hot. My chicken florentino was delicious. There is a lot of chicken, lots of spaghetti (yay!), and the sauce tasted light and fresh. I really enjoyed it. I tasted my boyfriend's manicotti and it was also good and I found I like their red sauce so I'll have plenty of options for future orders! Worst Italian restaurant in Orlando. Doesn't even deserve a single star. I ordered pasta a la vodka, a side a meatballs and some garlic knots. I don't have a positive remark for any of the dishes. The pasta was bland and tasted heavily of alcohol (ironically more like Marsala wine than vodka), the meatballs were over cooked but drenched in watery bland tomato water, and the garlic knots were raw in the middle and burnt on the bottom. This pizza was DROWNING in oil/grease. It was WET. I'm talking WAP (Wet A** Pizza). I blotted off as much of the oil as I could with more paper towels, but even Mr. Bounty the Quicker Picker Upper (TM) couldn't save this mess. Once I had removed as much of the lubricant as possible I noticed that there was no chicken...on my CHICKEN marsala pizza! None whatsoever. Why did the chicken cross the road? Apparently to avoid ending up in my pizza. Almost completely dejected at this point, I attempted to extract a slice for dinner. The crust slid out perfectly from under the cheese and toppings leaving me with a sad, wet slice of bread in my hand. Once I finally did manage to maneuver a slice with toppings onto my plate (and grabbed a fork because I clearly was not going to be able to eat this pizza normally), I FINALLY sat down to eat. Big Mistake. This was, without a doubt, the SALTIEST piece of any food I have ever shoved down my gullet. The first bite sent me into a coughing fit. I tried to soldier on, I could even tell that there was some shadow of a good flavor in this pizza, but it was buried in a tomb of salt that could only be saved by lifting an ancient curse to set the flavor free. I drank two entire pint glasses of water just to power my way through one single solitary slice (because I paid for this food so by god I was going to eat it) and I still failed. I had to tap out 3/4ths of the way through. Defeated, I threw out the rest. I hate wasting food like this. She asked for a refund and no one could do a refund and the owner said no refunds for items we sale that we don't have even though we charged you for. Ferrara's pizza was a go to, but lost their way. They were the pizza place the locals called and knew they would deliver a quality pizza. They had the best prices until recently they sharply increased all prices by at least $2.00. They added a online ordering system with of course an additional fee to use ($2.00) and discounts only apply if you use a debit or credit card. There are at least 2-3 other local pizzerias that haven't increased prices and will still deliver quality pies. Check Yelp for all options, quality over profit. read more
