Ferrellgas is the most unprofessional company to ever exist. Avoid this company at all costs. I purchased a home that was utilizing Ferrel over the summer and was planning on extending once we needed more propane. They showed up one day and tried to take my tank because I "didnt have an account" I explained that I didnt make an account because we didnt need the propane yet as we moved in the hot summer months and it was still Fall. After hours on the phone with them they wanted us to pay the previous sellers bill ! We went with another company and asked to have the tank removed and they wouldnt come out. Propane delivery today by Ferrier was quiet, quick and delivered the exact amount requested. Online account and friendly staff on the phone makes Ferrell gas my preferred partner. I placed an order on a Tuesday, delivery was estimated by Tuesday of the following week. Propane was delivered the day after I ordered. read more

Everyone I've spoken with has been so friendly and helpful. The technician showed up at 9am for a 8-12 appointment for a new tank installation. He was very polite, professional and knowledgeable. They are significantly better so far than the previous company I left (osterman/woodmansee). read more

These guys are about the worst propane company we ever used. They charged my daughter a full $1.00 per gallon over the going rate without renogiating a lower rate for 18 months. Stay away from Ferrell Gas unless you want to be jerked around! Monday Sept. 17th I called around to different gas companies getting quotes. Was given quote of $1.09 Gallon from Ferrell gas, so I told the lady I would like to order 200 gallons. They asked about information that would be on a metal tag, which I was unable to see, because of a wood box around the tank. I told them I wasn't even sure if there was a tag. They made it out like it wasn't a big deal and they would send someone out to inspect the tank. Wednesday Sept. 19th Since I wasn't told how long it would take for them to come out, and they didn't make it sound like a long time, I decided to call back as this was an emergency and they were aware of such. When I called I was told they would no longer be coming out for inspection, I had to find the tag or they couldn't fill the tank, so I told them I would tear off part of the box look for it better and call them back. I gave them all the information off the tank. Now they are coming out, but they want me to pay up front before they come out (which I didn't realize until talking to others I should not have done so), and price is now over $300. I asked why I was not told my price would change waiting on them, she really didn't answer that, but would see what she could get it down to, which turned out to be $1.15 gal, so I paid. Friday Sept. 21st Driver came out, office called they will not fill tank because of box (we had a dozen conversations about said box, why just now a problem) and wrong regulator, however they did not give me any options, so I told them I would call my husband and call them back. Called back this lady seemed shocked the driver didn't bother to call ( I was too as I could have been there in 5 mins) she was suppose to get information on what I needed to do and call me back. That weekend I had had enough and filed a complaint with the better business bureau. Tuesday Sept. 25th Bismark office calls, said she spoke with her office manager and they decided they were not going to provide service to me. I guess they didn't like that I filed a complaint. Saturday Sept. 29th I still have not received my refund and have had to pay for propane somewhere else, on top of what I have already paid for with Ferrell Gas. All this might not look so bad if I didn't call another company to come out that I called on the 24th and had propane by the 27th apparently it wasn't that big of a deal for someone who is honest. We did have to change out two regulators, which Rough Riders did for us right then and there, along with a pressure test, they were professional and had amazing customer service. read more

Horrible! Big company Mentality! Plus, No appliance service so if you get a new stove it will cost you more to install it than the stove its self and thats if IF you can find someone willing to come to install it. The credit department is the worse! Even if you have been a customer for years, I made a mistake on my bill and I was taken off the monthly plan and to put me back on a the monthly plan they required a credit check! Even though I have been a customer for 20 years. Now I am only C.O.D! No more auto fills. Its company policy only no exemptions. Plus you need to pay $50.00 every year to be on the plan. I Would never recommend this company and its sad they have some nice people who try hard, but management ties their hands. One star is too much. read more

Despite seeing many poor reviews I elected to try this company anyway. That was a mistake!! I called and spoke with Christina the end of May 2019 I was calling to inquire about propane installation for a pool heater. She was pleasant and took down dates and times that worked for me. called me back a couple days later and told me I was scheduled for site inspection for May 31st 12 noon. May 31st came and the tech came at 930 am I believe his name was John. he was at the house for all of 5 minutes told me we could run the pipe above ground for 15 feet and it would be good he just had to check with the town regulations to make sure. I called Ferrell gas back Tuesday June 11th because I haven't heard anything. I spoke with Christina again, she said she would reach out to the tech and get back to me. I got a call 2 days later and she said it was all set we could install the pipe above ground, told me the price and told me I had to pay upfront before I could schedule the install. Eager to get this installed I paid against my gut feeling. She then told me she would call me back for my date. I was so confused why I had to get a call back when they could install and co2 to be when it is convenient for me? and I just paid out $1000.00 for the install. She called me back and told me that the next available date was June 27th. 4 weeks after the site inspection that took all of 5 minutes. Upset as I was and with summer here I didn't want to go through the trouble of starting all over and doing all this with another company. So I scheduled the install for the 27th at 12pm. the 27th came and the same thing happened. I got a call at 940 that the installer was here. It was John the same person who did the site inspection. He looked inn the back yard and told me he didn't see any pipe there and no trench. He told me he wasn't sure if he could install. Turns out he never checked with the regulations. Also they never pulled a permit to install. These people are terrible!!!! they took my money, not at all organized and cost me over 6 weeks of the summer season. I called another company and they came out the next day in the morning and I had a quote 4 hours after the site inspection and then an appointment for install scheduled for a week later. I would never ever recommend ferrel gas to ANYONE. and I tell everyone not to use them. Terrible company. read more

Short version: If you inherited Ferrell Gas from Yankee Gas in Middleton, MA you are getting seriously overcharged, and you should shop around. Long version: I 'inherited' Ferrell Gas when my former supplier sold their propane delivery business to them. At first it was business as usual, in part because it was so painless. Truck shows up, delivers propane, drivers knew what they were doing. 6 months later things look different. Gasoline goes to $4 a gallon and so they tacked on a fuel surcharge for delivery that they still have in place 1 year later with gas now hovering around $2.25 a gallon. Then I took a closer look at my bill. $3.90 a gallon for propane? A call to the office takes some persistence before they'll come clean: They charge a much higher rate if it's not used for the primary heat source in your home. Nevermind that it's used for about half of the heat in my home, or how much I actually use. No they will not discuss or reconsider. A quick call to Eastern Propane and I got a visit from a very nice, competent salesman and I now will have propane delivered for $2.50 a gallon, plus a discount for prompt paying, plus another discount if I give them my oil business. And if they prove to be as good as they seem now, I'll do that. read more

As I am sitting here still waiting for the tech to show up I am over this company. Supposed to be here the last 4 hrs has not showed up. Was put on hold for 10 minutes , was told a call back nothing the first time and still they can not tell me if the tech will ever show up since they can not get in touch with him. We are planning on converting a building to propane and we will not use them now. These people should not own a business. I only gave them 1 star because this system made me. read more

They do not care about customer service at all. My tanks were empty in the heart of winter and they said that it would be 2 full weeks before they were able to make a delivery/service the tank even in an emergency situation. Do not use this company period. read more
