Service was easy enough on my first visit. Went in on the "shop" side and requested my new tank be filled up. A gentleman came out and fillled it right up and carried my tank from and to my car. After fill you have to walk to the office to pay for your propane tank. If you need a fill on the weekends you will need to go elsewhere. The prices at the time were about 12 cents higher then a gas station nearby, but overall good experience and knowledgeable staff. read more

I've been a customer for 19 years at the same location. On 11/24/24 I placed a refill order. I was texted that my delivery would be completed 12/3/24 at the latest. Today, 12/5/24, still waiting for my delivery I called FG for status and was told that my order had been cancelled. I hated to call them to learn that my order was cancelled because they "couldn't access my tank." My tank is in the same spot it's always been in and nothing about access has changed. The person I spoke to on the phone had nothing to say but to ask if I still wanted a delivery. Um...yes - my tank is still low, now lower that it was when I placed my order. I expected an apology or at least a free rush delivery but nope - if I wanted a rush I'd have to pay $100. I asked to speak to a manager to see if I could get some help from someone above her (like maybe she isn't authorized to give people free rushes) but apparently, she has no manager that she can connect me to. Wha??? She also had no phone numbers for other people that might help and she didn't have my phone # on my account (???) FG texts me order confirmations (but not notices of cancellation) anyhoo I'm back on the schedule but have to wait another 10 biz days. I have to say I've never had such sad customer service and that's saying a lot as I'm a Verizon customer . It's obvious they don't want my account so I'm looking for another provider. Ferrellgas service in Sacramento, CA is abysmal. Last year they insisted they were not able to fill my tank because of wet ground conditions. We repeatedly communicated how they've done it in the past, but they refused to listen, even after offering them photographic proof of how they did it the year prior. After almost two months of calls, requests, and complaints, they finally delivered propane and never left the pavement to do so. Rather than running out of propane, we rationed out our usage and reduced the temperature in the house and shortened showers or took cold showers. However this became their stance -- that we didn't run out of propane they refused to acknowledge the hardship they created. To this day they have taken no action for any discount or courtesy. They relied on recovering drug addicts (nothing against them) to make determinations that impacted my six children in their daily lives and discomfort. I've left a balance on the account through the summer as a result and all I get are threatening letters claiming that I'm not a responsible customer. The management has no interest in customer service or losing a dime to resolve a dispute. The only advantage as a company is the Farm Bureau membership discount, but it's not worth it if you find yourself in an unusual situation. Go somewhere else if you need reliable service. read more

I am new to the rural life coming from San Francisco and having a propane tank is something completely new to me. I had a small leak that was immediately fixed and when my tank ran out of gas, they sent someone out same day to resolve the issue. A gentleman named Sam came out and taught me so much about propane, pressure, and what to do in various situations to keep my family safe. I have only had great experiences with the so far and appreciate all the time their technicians spent with me to educate me on propane. They indeed took the pain out of propane. One last thing... if you look at the one star reviews, notice that it is people that don't really understand how the propane tank works. When you don't understand the way something works, that doesn't mean the service should be dinged. It boggles my mind when a customer leaves a negative review due to their own ignorance. read more

Ferrellgas is just the worst gas provider out there. We had a problem with our tank and nobody in that company appears to be in charge. It takes about 15 minutes to get somebody on the phone and then nobody is responsible. You can leave as many messages as you like and nobody, not even the general manager Mr. Little gets back to you. One of those big companies where left left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, very disappointing! Finally we decided To half the tank taken out and to never work with Ferrellgas again. Have always had a hard time getting a truck out here. So I has them install the tank monitoring system that triggers and order when it hits 30%. Well it hit 30%, no truck. Called when it hit 20%. Was told they see an order generated and added that the tank was now at 20% and I needed a fill. No truck. Tank is now at 5% and it is a long holiday weekend. We have not been able to turn on our heat for 3 weeks and have been really cold. After weeks of calling and emailing and getting no help or a decent response from Amerigas we switched to Ferrellgas. They came right out and swapped the tank and both regulators . Ran pressure tests and leak tests. We are back in business. He swapped over the propane and we have heat Sam Dennison is "The man". Ferrellgas bought out my local company I used for years and up until this week I was not aware of just how difficult it is to reach people at the company for help. Last Sunday, I ran out of propane. I called to request an emergency delivery and there was no way to do so. Ferrellgas doesn't believe in emergency delivery from what I can see. So, I freeze an entire night and call Monday AM. I finally reach someone and they tell me my account is past due! I explain that I had my card on file with my old company they bought and they say no. I found out they had switched to a new system and didn't carry my information forward. So... I pay and request a refill. I then find out I need to register online. The delivery date is scheduled for sometime between then and January 10th on their site. Without getting into more minute details, it took until Tuesday to get a refill. I did get a courtesy call from a woman who told me I had a driver on the way later that day. The driver was nice enough and explained that the season is super busy. He checked my heater and insured I didn't need pilots lit. This guy was one of two bright spots in this encounter with the phone call to me and the driver. Ferrellgas has some good people working for it, but their processes need a LOT of work. They don't seem to want to deal with customers directly and it communicates one thing loud and clear: "We hold the power and don't want to talk to you". Even if they don't mean it, that is what the customer perceives. Ferrellgas, you need to work on your process and start giving the customer real people to talk to who don't read from scripts and actually show your customers you care. Otherwise, you'll bleed customers and likely are doing so. This experience is an incentive to install a wood stove and it's going in this month. Update chronology: Jan 2 - Ran out of propane. No one to call and no emergency call number. Jan 3 - A day of the run around and buck passing. Multiple re-routes of supposed numbers for real people to the main company answering system. No truck arrived as of 4:30 PM - Another cold day and night ensues. Jan 4 - Around 4:30PM a driver finally arrived and I got my propane. read more

I never give a rating this will be my first. This company is horrible. I have been waiting for weeks to get their propane tank filled. Ultimately I ran out of gas waiting for 3 days with no gas in freezing cold weather. The technician just showed up and refused to fill my tank only giving 150 gallons and was told by his manager not to fill me. I was told by the manager I had to call and request a new order. My neighbor told me this company is short 4 drivers and is running low on propane for months now. Just had to cancel our service. I paid upfront for a fill. I waited 9 days and called back to see when they can get me my LPG that they make you pay upfront for. I was told they can't give me a day but they could call me when they are on there way some time next year and that I would have to be present for a inspection. Customer service is garbage. For the first time in 15 years of owning my place I ran out of propane because I did not pay attention to the gas meter. No furnace, stove, dryer, or hot water for showers, laundry and dishes. My bad, my fault. I ordered propane but the demand is insane right now, so it took more than a week to get my delivery with so many more customers that had ordered before me. Sean made the delivery on Martin Luther King Day, which I did not expect, it was a holiday. But the company is making sure people are getting their gas. He quickly showed my city boy son how to set the pilot on my water heater and then was on his way to fill the next customer. The road to my house is a challenge even with cars because of the mud. I do not have payment or asphalt going to my house. It was not an easy delivery to make. I am really pleased I made the move to this gas company last summer. I made the move because of their prices. But I am pleased to see the service is on spot as well. read more

I have completed my investigation, talked to the relevant field personnel, and offer the following response: Ms. Freitas's concerns to relate to the propane delivery timeframe. Upon ordering, Ferrellgas Customer Service provided the customer with a delivery window. That window is an estimate and can ultimately vary due to factors like demand, weather, road conditions, etc. The customer received her propane order on March 9, 2023 and her tank was not empty. Ferrellgas strives to provide best in class customer service and we regret that Ms. Freitas did not feel she received such level of service. Her complaint has been sent to the relevant field personnel. Thank you for bringing Ms. Freitas's concerns to our attention. I hope the above resolves any remaining questions or concerns. Thank you.
