I wanted Ferrell Gas to come out to see if it was possible to switch out my current gas tank from another company so we could switch to their company to use their gas to heat our home. The lady in the office was extremely rude on the phone and couldn't comprehend I just wanted her Company to simply come and look to see IF the tanks could be changed out. But for them to cone to my house and do that I had to pay $120.00.......even if they tell me that they can't exchange the tanks at a different time. All I want to know is if this was possible so I could be a future customer.....question answered,I will NEVER be their customer if they talk to customers like she does. Jeez!!! read more

Ferrellgas DESERVES 5 stars! I went to their 9765 Dino Dr, Elk Grove, location to get five 5 gallon propane tanks refilled. The Site Supervisor, Brandan, was quick and thorough. The facility is very clean and organized. And best of all, I got a significant discount for bringing in 5 tanks plus a huge discount for paying cash! Nice to do business with an operation that has been in the same location for many, many years, gives great customer service and offers discounts that are totally unexpected!! read more

If I could give negative stars I would. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. Their professionals promised us that a propane tank our size would last 6months (we've never used propane before which is why we asked questions) and the entire propane tank was empty just short of a month. In not even a month the price of filling our tank DOUBLED. We asked for a check on the tank for a leak. We were told we would have to pay for a fill of tank completely AND pay extra for a leak test. We paid for a complete fill and the test IN FULL. That was a week ago. STILL waiting in the snow and cold for a fill. STILL can not use our gas stove to cook or our heater. My family and I are FREEZING and living off microwave meals. We have called every day, NO ONE can help us and or tell us a date for a fill. We have sent emails and we were told someone would be calling us in 12-48 hours. STILL NO CALL. Spoke to the manager Laura, she said there was nothing she could do and ended up hanging up on us. We have been calling every day with no delivery date in sight. We had to cancel our Christmas dinner and party. Due to no heat and not being able to cook because of this company. This has been a nightmare. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Save yourself the headache. Do not be like us who payed a LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY (twice) for a service we have not received. read more

So far, NOT a good experience with this company! I just moved into my home in the late spring so this week was the first time I've needed to have my propane tank filled. I called yesterday and set up an account, pre-paid for the gas and was told to expect a delivery shortly. I thought the truck would be at my home within a few hours... NOPE! I called them again this afternoon and explained the situation. I was told that they'll be here by the 10th! Today's the 5th! My propane is too low to run my heating and the temperature tonight (and the next several nights) is supposed to be in the 20's! Six business days is not a very good response time if you ask me. i ordered gas 2 1/2 weeks ago they said it would be here on the 4th. so on the 4th i tried calling (6times) no one ever called me back not even the call back request. ran out of gas because they never showed up on the 4th like they said. they are closed on weekends so monday i went to the office to ask WTF she was very nice but she never saw anything about getting a call back because that all run through corp. she got them to come out that night to give me gas. if no one is going to call to let you know they are not coming or call back ( to this day still no call) its time to move on to someone else. read more

Too bad there is a NO STAR rating.... This is the WORST experience I've ever had with any company!!! I moved into my house almost 2 years ago and just decided to use them because the previous owners had used their services. I always thought their services were a bit pricey but was convenient so didn't really think much of it. We was cooking on Monday evening & the propane gas just went out. I called them requesting a refill....the lady responded by saying " it will take 5-7 days before we can come out there, but it can be tomorrow... and since we weren't notified when your tank was at 30%remaining there's a $39.99 pressure testing charge..." So I provide them with payment, which they took out the moment I hung up the phone with them, like in 2 minutes.... $551.19!!!!!! It's now 3 days later and no freaking gas yet!!! I had to use my propane stove outside to cook, taken cold showers for 2 days!!! So I called them asking when we were schedule to have our tank refilled. I was met with " Sir, when you initiated service with us, we explained that since you're on "will call status" with us, we will get to you as soon as our schedule permits between 5-7 days. And since you didn't notify us when your tank was down to 30%, we will need to charge you $39.99 for pressure retesting. Seriously?? Wtf??!!!m I don't go checking my dam propane level every day!!! When I asked the lady " So you have no idea where I am at in terms of being on the schedule...don't you guys have a schedule board with scheduled/pending/delivered clients/deliveries???What kind of business are you running?? How do you keep organized...satisfy & fulfill clients' needs/orders???".... She goes "We do know... but we just don't know when...it depends on the driver. But if you want, we can send a delivery out today & charge you an additional $200"....are you fucking kidding me??!!! And then she was the one who suggested "Well, if you're not happy & need gas today, I can refund/credit back your money but it will take 7-14 days for your bank to credit you back".. No freaking customer service whatsoever!!!!... like I was one of 10,000,000 clients that they have or something!!!!! Well, they lost this client for good!!!! I had spent close to $2000 with them since I bought my home...kiss any future business from me or anyone I know goodbye!!!!!! They were great until they talked me into doing a automatic renewal where they fill it without me calling and they waited until now to fill it because they could raise the price because its winter. We will definitely not be going through them anymore very shady. First time was 500 to fill two 250 gal tanks this time 750 to fill one tank. Cant describe how angry I am. From the moment I called to get a price to the actual paying for the propane I couldn't be happier. For your propane needs go see Brandan Vadner he's the site supervisor, great customer service all around. It was fairly busy to me when I went about 30 - 45 minutes from closing time, Brandan was the only one I saw servicing customers. He addressed me soon as he saw me and said he had a few customers ahead of me but he'd be with me as soon as he could. That went along way; since it was my first time there I had no idea where to go or what to do. He gave prompt service with a smile. Ferrell hits it out of the park. I have been in the HVAC service industry for 35 years. I have been told the horror stories about " these companies", not Ferrell by any long-shot !!! Ferrell hit a "GRAND SLAM" in my book, AND unfortunately I am not an easy customer. I have had the DISPLEASURE to sift though every propane company out there, trying get pricing and dozens of other questions. They were always forthright and upfront. They were on time and pleasurable to speak with. It was a new experience for me... Lori, Customer Service Specialist, was the first. GREAT to talk with... Tom, Operations Supervisor, came out to survey my install. SUPER friendly , timely and accommodating. Then Chris came out to install the gas line, what a super guy. He was extremely informative and a hard-worker. Did the install with the perfection of a true old school craftsman, just the way I would have done. AND finally Chris gave me an detailed, but simple emergency shutdown procedure in case of an emergency. My old gas line was about 30 years old and it sprung a huge leak all at once, I think I touched the gas line while mowing the grass. I lost about $ 200.00 worth. Van Unen Miersma Propane was out 5/2011 and her tested the line before they hooked it up. He found a small leak but said that it was acceptable. Didn't pay much attention to his recommend result. I was just happy to start taking a warm shower again. But the black iron pipe below grade was at 100% failure at this point, The degradation was linear, and all the threads on the pipe were gone. Hindsight is 20/20. Van Unen Miersma should have dug up that line and replaced it... ANY LEAK IS 100% UNACCEPTABLE... So far my experience with Ferrellgas has been nothing less than perfect. It's nice to be able to call and speak with a local person.

I usually don't write reviews but I feel like I needed to in this instance. We moved into a home that had a propane tank and weren't familiar with it. When our gas ran out, we called Ferrell who was the company that the prior owners used. They came out that day and told us it was a leak and we had to dig up our system and then they will come back and put a new tank in and fill it. All said and done it got filled 3 days later but we were happy they took action so quick and told us what was wrong. I had confirmed with the man that we weren't going to have any chargers multiple times and he said no, no, everything is on us since this is your first service with us. When our bill came a month later for over $350 we were in shock. I called and they said it was for the gas, trust me, I understand that gas isn't free but the man said there would be no charges. Clearly, a lack of communication. We asked to be put on auto fill, then come February and we go to take a shower in the morning and of course, have no hot water. What's the point of being on auto fill if they don't automatically fill it?? Now this past bill is $500 dollars and I called to talk to someone about it and Penny kept saying "well being on auto fill allows us to come out that day if you run out of gas, and they probably didn't tell you you had to pay for gas because they assumed you knew. We ask for the customers to keep an eye on it as well." I just don't see how they ask their customers to keep on eye on the gas when that's their job, and we are on auto fill where they can see our tank before we get low, so we shouldn't have to keep track ourselves? I'm very frustrated and feel like this second incident/lack of communication between them is not great customer service and they don't act sympathetic or apologetic or even offer anything for future.... I will be looking for a different company. Customer service and communication is key, it's not about the money, it's about respecting your customers. I wouldn't recommend them for filling gas tanks at homes. Maybe going to their site is different. read more

I called when our tank was down to 30% and it's to day 10 after calling and our tank is down to 0%The company says they have to fill it by the 10th day and I asked " then what happens?". They said well nothing. This is rediculous. I have small child in my household that cannot go without heat. You would think a big company would be more responsible than that. The lady just laughed on the phone and said they try to honor the 10 day rule. I think it's done in purpose to try and get emergency fill ups is a piece of $172.00 next day delivery and screw their customers over. I worked at the Elk grove service center. I have referred many customers to Ferrellgas. Upon seeing those customers again, i found out that the customer was taken from an employee solicitation to an account manager solicitation. I am not the only employee that has experienced this. I have also learned that when a company moves sites, Bryan is creating them as a new customer in order to gain commission off of an existing customer, instead of giving the existing customer a new address. Which is Also highly illegal. It is also illegal for one employee to steal another employees commission. Not to mention morally corrupt. The company tells employees that they can gain commission from sales and you have an account manager claiming since he entered it, its "HIS" commission. He gets away with this because employees have no way to look into it. To blatantly steal from someone and gain the commission that someone else earned is an unprofessional move. Now everyone knows why he is the "Number 1 account manager". There is only two account managers. The other one does his job correctly and honestly. Because of Bryan's theft of commissions, employee solicitations have slowed dramatically. I have also noticed an extreme amount of favoritism from certain management to staff from all departments, that has gone unacknowledged by upper management. read more

Customer service is severely lacking here. We have been using them for years and never had an issue. However I have never had to call and talk to them because everything has been good. Well that all changed when we had to call them. Given it is our own fault that we did not call sooner as we let our tank get to 5%, however it was just an oversight as it is not something we look at everyday. So my wife calls on a Monday and explains the situation, pays in advance for the propane the gal says ok we'll get you on the route and get it taken care of ASAP. Well Wednesday rolls around and still no propane, tank is not generating its own fuel so naturally it is getting lower (wife is out of town for the week and I am home alone so I am conserving propane like nobody's business). Wife calls again on Wednesday and advises them again of our situation and we are now below 5%. They again tell her we are on the "list" but no guarantee on when delivery will be. So here we are on Friday at 4:30pm and still no delivery. Typically my wife calls and deals with customer service because my patience is slim to none when it comes time for that stuff. I've paid for a service and been a loyal customer for years, all I'm asking for is the service that's been paid for. So I decide it's my turn to call cause apparently they think she's making this stuff up. Well that didn't work either. After putting me on hold for 10 minutes she returns to the line and says, "thank you for holding, here's what I can do for you. I can guarantee delivery to you by Monday, I'll just take a couple other people off the delivery for that day. It's only gonna cost you a next day service fee of $175.00." Are you F'ing kidding me. I paid for the propane a week ago, you got your money now give me what I paid for. Secondly I am not gonna screw some other people out of their promised delivery as nobody knows the situation they may be in. Needless to say, not happy with the provided service. We have always filled our tanks here for the last 5 years until now! Their Posted hours are until 5pm. They have told us in the past that they close at 5 but if it's slow they close at 4:30. I called at 4:20 on a Friday and was 10 min away and told them I'm on my way please wait for me I have a large party this weekend and need my tanks filled. They tell me they will tell the shop guy. I arrive at 4:31! Shop door closed. A guy in the yard says oh he just left but the office can get someone to help you. I go to the office tell them who I am and gall says, oh yeah I talked to you, but its 4:34!!! Your 4 minutes late not 1!! I tell her that I was here at 4:31 and looking around the yard for help and she just says well sorry too late there is nothing I can do for you!! Wow what customer service!! I am a business owner myself and would never do that to my customers, I have waited up to 30 minutes just to make my customers happy! They couldn't wait 1 minute???
