If you're an American used to American style food and want a familiar menu and taste, this is your place. Especially with kids friendly options. Lively ambiance and good service. Mac and cheese was really average but the jalapeño poppers were great! Don't get the large drinks, they look tall but are similar in quantity to the small ones but priced 3 times higher.

So I have to admit this is one of the most touristy places on the planet, but yet we ended up there. We met some friends for drinks and it happened to be the loudest, most familiar, and first place we saw. The vibe os fun but beware of the lady with the shots! The liquor leaves a lot to be desired then she plays a game of tic tac toe and if you lose more shots. Sadly the food is not a good value and the drinks are kinda weak. Fun vibe but not a great value.

If you want fine dining with carefully sourced ingredients, go to a Michelin rated restaurant. If it's fun you're looking for, Senor Frog's might be your place. Service here on our visit was good. In fact, our server was so attentive I began to get nervous. (Not really.) The place was clean -- from the flatware, table and floor, to the bathroom stalls. The food? Actually not bad at all. Tortilla soup was presented well, although it was fairly blah in the taste department. The house salsa, though my son thought it was so-so, was better than many other versions I've eaten in the neighborhood, including those "a few blocks into town." The fish tacos were way above par, served with hot crisp fish and cool crunchy accouterments. That said, I am constantly amazed at the spectrum of reviews some places receive, Senor Frog's notwithstanding. This joint does not bill itself as a high-end eatery. In fact, the sign clearly says "Fun, Food & Clothes." Not only is it not a "dump," as one reviewer has stated, anyone who receives "soggy chips" and doesn't send them back is a glutton for punishment. (And seriously, I've eaten no fewer than 1,000 meals at Mexican/Tex-Mex joints and have never received "soggy" chips. I'm really curious about that claim.) Interpret these reviews as you wish, but don't be scared away by the extreme words of a few. It's quite possible that the restaurant just had a bad day ... Or perhaps the reviewer. ;-)

Call it a tourist trap, my friend and I enjoyed our dinner here and really loved the atmosphere. If you want fine dining this is not the place, but it's a great place for some yummy food and drinks. The waiters are fun and they seem like they really enjoy working there. I also enjoyed the dances that the waiters do up on the stage every so often. It's fun, it's interesting, and it is very very loud. We stayed for an hour and a half and thoroughly enjoyed the experience but it is not a place if you wanna have a nice chat with your dinner companion. Thanks señor frogs for a fantastic night!

My sister and I had a late lunch at Senor Frogs on Thursday. We sat on the balcony overlooking the water. Sister Sarah had a big rum punch. I had a big beer. Yum! We both ordered Chicken Chimichangas. They were delicious! I got mine without guac or onions. Pavel was our server and he was great!

It's what you can expect from your regular old Senor Frogs. The drinks are way over priced, and terribly weak!!!! We ordered those drinks that come in the yards glass bc you get to keep the glass... Okay first off, the drink was 19$ bucks! Secondly, it was a GIANT slushy! There was no alcohol in it, at least that I could taste! Third, the friggin cup didn't say "Playa del Carmen", it said Cabo San Lucas !!!! Dude, are you kidding me???? You're charging 19$ bucks for a frigging drink (in Mexico) bc everyone wants the cup as a souvenir, and you can't have the town you're in on the cup???? Wtf??? Needless to say, I left the cup on the bar. I haven't been to Cabo yet, so I didn't wanna confuse things by brining this cup home. I suggest if you go here, just drink beer or the free shots they sling out.

Okay, let's be honest Senor Frog's is not known for great food but what makes it 4 star is that no matter which "frog's" you visit you will usually end up leaving with a smile on your face from either the dancing or the drinks. We cruised into Cozumel last weekend around 8am. After shopping in the city and in the ports we came across Senor Frog's and decided to grab a bite to eat and a beer. I ordered a beer and asked for a tall...boy did I get a tall. The tall is called the Big Ass Beer...and that is exactly what it is. Holy cow I was on a mission and by the time we left I had not only finished my beer but danced with just about everyone in the bar. It was a blast. I also ordered beef nachos...nothing to write home about or even on here. I was there for the party and party is what I got. I ate some of the nachos but only when I put down my huge beer. At the end of the visit we all agreed it was a great time, met several new friends from other boats also visiting for the day and the servers were great. Now the only thing I will say is the ladies with the whistles are fun at first...they come by give you a shot or two for about $5 shake your head and a few other jiggly parts of your body and move on...all in good fun of course. We all did a couple of shots but weren't interested in doing more. Unfortunately they came by the table every 5-6 minutes offering more shots. We declined....we had a boat and free drinks waiting for us there so we headed back to the water to rest off that beer!

We love Señor Frog's. Everything was buenisimo! My husband said it was the best margarita he's ever had and he's had a lot of margaritas LOL The food and service was 100% on point! Ask for Arian, the best waiter ever!

    Joshua C.

We had such a good time! The drinks were amazing and to start we had the mole dish and it was sooo good! Arian was our server and he was so helpful and gave us great recommendations. We also had the tacos and they were delicious. We sat down on the beach next to the water and laughed the evening away. Great service, great food, great view. We'll be back:)

I guess I'll start with the one good thing about this place. The location. It's right on the beach, hard to complain about that. BUT the food is another story. We ordered the "famous" guacamole that they prepare fresh at your table... Only, they didn't prepare it fresh at our table. It was premade and brought to us with soggy, cold chips. We also made the mistake of ordering BBQ chicken, whixh6was literally one ch8cken breast split in half soaked in kraft-style bbq sauce. Basically inedible. And a COLD also soggy piece of corn. For 30$, i expected at least kfc caliber. The drinks were as you'd sugary cocktails to be. I will not be back

This frog should be too ashamed to look me in the eye!

I suspect there may have been a management or ownership change since the videos we saw, as the experience felt a little different than expected, but the team there is working hard. When we arrived with our party of 8, we were greeted by a very pleasant staff who did a great job accommodating our large group. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed bag, but there are definitely some highlights: Garlic Shrimp: This was absolutely on point. I honestly should have ordered a second plate, but I didn't want to be greedy! Rasta Pasta: Packed with flavor and a solid choice. Jerk Chicken: The star of the show. I could have easily just eaten this for my entire meal. Oxtail: This was a bit of a disappointment; it had good flavor, but the meat was tough rather than falling off the bone. We did have a few hiccups with dishes taking a while to come out, but the owner came over to apologize and personally explained that they were understaffed due to some last-minute call-outs. She was a very nice lady, and we were totally understanding of the situation. If you decide to give them a try, I would 100% recommend starting with the garlic shrimp and going for the Rasta pasta with the jerk chicken. We appreciated the hospitality and the effort the team put into making our large group feel welcome!

It is located on 10th and 24th and is alluring because of the 4 course menu option for 200 pesos per person. The chief greeted us at the entrance and explain the menu in Spanish but was polite enough to repeat himself in English with explained that we don't speak Spanish. He also did not push us to come in side and eat. He stepped away to let us think and then thanked us for choosing his restaurant. He introduced us to our server and advised he'd be the one cooking our food. We were a little confused by the menu and had the server explain it to us once more. I had ceviche, artichoke and avocado salad, mango chicken with rice and beans, and coconut ice cream. My wife had ceviche, Balsamic salad, mahi-mahi with Mac n cheese, and lemon ice cream. The meal on both ends was delicious, service and atmosphere was awesome, and the price was just right! We wish we could come back soon but recommend this place! It's a must try

A Refreshing Change of Pace with Friendly Vibes and Live Music…read more If you're looking to take a break from your usual go-to taco and Mexican spots, this place offers a nice variety with its Cuban-inspired menu. I'm a big fan of tacos, but every now and then, it's great to mix things up--and this spot gave me that change of pace I was looking for. I especially appreciated the inclusion of rice and beans, which I've been missing lately. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. It wasn't a busy night, so we ended up getting to enjoy the live music almost like a private show. That part really stood out--the band brought a warm energy to the room, and it made the whole evening feel more intimate and memorable. The service was genuinely great. Our server was friendly, attentive, and took time to explain that the menu was Cuban-inspired, which was a good heads-up. That explained some of the differences in flavor and presentation, and helped manage expectations about what ingredients or sides might be missing compared to more traditional Latin or Caribbean places. One thing I wasn't a huge fan of, though, was having to order everything à la carte. For example, when I ordered the pork, the rice and beans weren't included--they were separate add-ons. It felt a little disjointed, and I would have preferred if those staples came as part of the dish. It's not a dealbreaker, but it's something to keep in mind if you're expecting a full plate. As for the food itself--it was solid. I had the Delicias de Queso, which were flavorful and satisfying, with a nice texture and taste. The pork was also seasoned well and tender. Everything came out hot and well-prepared, and you can tell there's care in the kitchen. That said, nothing completely blew me away, but it all hit the spot. The mojito was probably the low point of the evening for me. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't have that fresh, crisp pop that you expect in a great mojito. Maybe it just needed more mint or lime--something to give it that brightness. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The food was enjoyable, the live music added something special, and the service was top-notch. While I didn't love the à la carte pricing and the drink could have been better, I'd still recommend giving this place a try if you're in the mood for something different and easygoing. It's a solid spot for a laid-back night out with some good vibes.
