If I could give this 0 stars I would. Ordered 2 waffle meals and a side of potatoes. Everything came in 1 box except the waffles! Where they do that at?! Meals were supposed to have 2 scrambled eggs with cheese. I'd be generous if I said they even gave us 2 eggs total. No cheese what so ever. Piles of grease in the eggs. The kicker was the waffles with HUGE chunks of char throughout them. At first I thought they made us choc chip waffles. They were soggy and disgusting and NOT sanitary. I doubt if they ever clean their waffle griddle. I pray I don't get sick. Not to mention the inside of that place...Trying to help others avoid a disgusting experience. Don't do it!! read more

Moved to this area a year and a half ago, and this place has easily become my most visited restaurant. A regular weekend staple. The food quality and quantity is great for the prices, with most things made to order. I've never had anything on the menu that I didn't like after about fifteen visits, but items I would specifically call out are the pancakes (perfectly fluffy with a crisp outside) and the potato chips (fried to order, always crunchy and hot). The wait staff and owner are welcoming and friendly. This is the kind of joint where you really build a relationship with the folks working there. Where the experience just gets better overtime as you become a regular. The interior is a little dirty, but in that way that makes it feel more relaxed and homey. We were greeted by friendly servers, smiling guests and a small, but adequate space and changed our to go order to a dine in as a kind gentleman offered us his table as he was leaving. The place was super busy with dine ins & to go orders and the 3 ladies serving and the cooks were handling the action quite well. Miss Kendall (sp?) was our server and this young lady was sharp, fast and so very pleasant (as they all were)! We ate: Plain Brioche French toast (available in many options), sausage patties, bacon, an omelette and scrambled eggs. The grits were decent; I like mine a lil creamier, but they were a nice accompaniment to the rest of the meal. The 4 of us really enjoyed the food and got super excited as we noticed they serve Nathan's hotdogs! Wonderful little hole in the wall place. Took us a couple of minutes to find it, it's at the end of a shopping center. We had breakfast even though my girlfriend really wanted to try the meatloaf special, bu 9:30 AM breakfast hit the spot. Crispy bacon..yep. chicken fried steak with sausage gravy, absolutely! When I opened it up upon arriving home not only was the bun swimming in grease but so were the fries! Plus the fries were very under cooked and the cheeseburger was overcooked. Tear! Boo hoo. So I stopped this morning for breakfast and this will be the last time I visit this place. It's pretty much what you would consider a small dive diner with very, very average food at best. I had the chicken fried steak for breakfast and they asked me if I wanted country gravy or brown gravy which I advised country gravy. So why did the chicken Fried steak have brown gravy on the bottom and sausage gravy on the top of everything else? The price is not too expensive but I guess I get what I paid for. Also refused to let me use the money I paid on a Groupon towards my meal even though that's clearly the Groupon policy. Had to send them back. If you're looking for taste instead of atmosphere there are so many better options. First Watch, Tommy's, Cock of the Walk, even Denny's to name a few. I took my daughters here because it seemed like a nice little diner to get a good breakfast from. It was busy when we arrived and luckily we only had to wait two or three minutes for a table. My daughters' pancake and waffle were decent, but we asked to add strawberries, only to be charged an extra dollar each for one small thinly sliced strawberry. I ordered the steak breakfast special and thought I would avoid the typically overcooked diner steak by ordering mine rare. I was treated to an ice cold block of meat that was tossed on the hottest part of the grill long enough to sear it, but not enough to completely thaw it. My first bite was warm on two sides and cold throughout the rest. The fat was not rendered at all and by the time I finished my eggs, which were thankfully warmer than the steak, the fat was solid and cold to the touch. The crowning achievement, the steak had finally warmed up enough for the center to thaw and let out the juice that slowly seeped out as the waitress took it to the cook, who thanked me by yelling across the restaurant at me to say "you ordered it rare, it's rare!" read more

I wanted to love this place, as it encompassed many of my favorite factors: diner style menu, hole in the wall, reasonable prices, local crowd... but the service just fell short. Granted our waitress confessed to being new on the job but even so there are certain things you expect when dining out for breakfast: food cooked properly and served as ordered. I ordered the Can You handle "the truth" with overeasy eggs and rye toast. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the sausage gravy was flavorful and the bacon and sausage were well seasoned and not too greasy. The hash taters were a bit undercooked (crunchy) which was disappointing. Raw potatoes are never good. When our meal was served the waitress assured me my toast would be along shortly. A few minutes went by and one of my dining companions realized she hadn't received her salsa and sour cream. We flagged the waitress down to ask for the missing items, request a side order of hash taters and inquire about my missing toast. The waitress returned with all items in question... But still no rye toast. "Your white toast will be along shortly." (Did she say white toast?) Anyways... After everyone in my dining party had pretty much finished their breakfast I was presented with a slice of cold white toast. At this point I had already begged a 1/2 slice of rye from my dining companion to sop up my excess gravy and was ready to just get out of there. For the most part the food was good and came in at a solid 4 stars... But when the most basic of expectations aren't met: the right food at the right time, it can significantly impact the diners' experience in a very negative way.
