A wonderful staff, very friendly . The food is great and is reasonably priced. A good neighborhood eatery, that we frequent often.

They charge Texas Roadhouse prices for meals and experience equal to a Waffle House. Never again!

My husband and I have had breakfast here several times and have always had good food and service. Today was our last time! When we came in to sit down in a booth, a dog popped up on the seat behind us. We changed booths and the dog's owner said she was sorry. We ordered our food and as we were eating we saw the dog eating bacon right off the table. Unbelievable and no one seemed think it was a problem. I have always been under the impression that dogs are not allowed in restaurants unless they are service animals. But service animals are not supposed to be eating off the table. They should be under the table. This one definitely was not a service dog--no identification at all. Just a fluffy, white dog. Again, sorry to say that we will never return. read more

This was my first visit to this eatery. Sign said to seat ourselves but we had to ask to go into an area that would accomodate our party. There was no children's menu that we saw or were offered so we ordered the adult portions. The food is typical diner fare, and all of us got breakfast offerings. They had unsweet tea that was a bit bitter but drinkable. The food portions were fairly generous. We were all happy. Total for 5 of us was $77 plus tip. So once again, nearing $100 for lunch. It's the way of things now. Server was a bit pressured but polite and responsive so what more can I expect? Food came out in a reasonable time. We were not rushed and there were plenty of diners but not crowded. The environs are more than a bit worn, parking is good in and out, tea was bitter, food was good but no kids menu offered. This place is very big compared to the service you'll receive. They are hella understaffed only two cooks for a HUGE restaurant, and four hostess for the entire place. The food took around 1 hour to get. The server did not tell us that they were understaffed nor checked up on us until we had to kind of have them check up on us. Again took them around 30 mins to get more water. It just would have been nice that they said they were understaffed in the beginning rather than having us wait an hour for food at them to get angry at the service. The food was not bad but it could need a bit more Salt. But if you have the time to wait and just talk, it could be the place for you. Just wasnt it for me. read more

We recently moved to the state and are trying to find our new "go to" breakfast/brunch place. After having no luck, we found Warwick Restaurant and were pleasantly surprised! The atmosphere is very homey and the staff is so kind. Kelly was our waitress and was very attentive. The food was definitely made with love; so yummy! The service was top-notch, but the rest needed improvements. First, the omelet was too salty, and a cheap single cheese on top, not the shredded type. As for the price, I expect a bit more. The biscuits and gravy were ok. The biscuit was dry, and the gravy negated it; however, the flavor of the gravy was too strong with rosemary or oregano, and there were tiny seeds (maybe fennel seeds) that burst in the pallet at every bite, which am not a fan of. Second, the dining area had a dreary ambiance, possibly the old decor and outdated seating boots. The bathroom is exposed directly to the dining area, so privacy was an issue for me. This place needs rehab or renovation. However, they seem busy, and it could be their regulars. The positive is our server was super friendly and kept our coffee cup refilled. 3 stars because the food was ok and for the service. Not the best experience and most likely not return. read more

We walked in today for late lunch. The sign said grab a menu and seat yourself. None of the staff members greeted us as we sat. We took 10 minutes reviewing the menu, no one came by to atleast take our drink order. We noticed the waitress glance at our table a few times, then she walked over to the table to the table who arrived there after us. Still did not acknowledge us. No greeting, no "I'll be right with you". Nothing. We could already tell the service was going to be terrible so we left. Do better staff of Warwick restaurant! First impressions are very important, it leaves a lasting mark on how you are viewed by others. Or perhaps hire better staff. You're losing money with the ones you have. We drove not too far to a place called Plaza Azteca. The food is not only very flavorful and delicious but the service is top notch. Highly recommend! read more

Legit Diner alert! Smells like Grandma's house when you walk in (if your Grandma is and old southern lady who knows how to cook) and the food did not disappoint! Warwick Restaurant now Korean owned, may have been the first place I ate after my sister moved to Newport News from Omaha many years ago. It looks the same (not in a good way) and really needs a facelift to contend in the 21st Century. My son and I, visiting from Bucks County, PA, stopped in for breakfast yesterday because it is quite near our family's home on Lake Queen Anne. It appeared that every table was covered in the remains of the last customers, and we wouldn't be able to sit unless we did the bussing ourselves. Luckily, our server led us to the lone cleaned booth in the house, and everything got better from there. We ordered (both of us desiring a version of their Country Fried Steak) and coffee. The food was quite good, with thin breaded/fried minute steak and eggs for me and beans and mashed for sonny boy. All wolfed down in minutes. Our server was friendly and attentive and partially made up for the overall slovenliness of the dining room. We tipped her appropriately and let her know we appreciated her saving us from the mess. Would we eat at Warwick again? Probably not given the many choices available nearby. 2.5 STARS read more

This is Big Lee and I must say this restaurant is a hidden gem in the city of Newport News, Va. This establishment is centrally located near Christopher Newport University. My French toast plate was phenomenal. Fluffy, great texture, and a kick of cinnamon. Cheesy grits were creamy, cheesy, and great texture. The service was very professional and welcoming. The food and service was excellent! The prices were excellent. The best bang for your buck here for sure! The only thing that was a negative was the bathroom, no locks on the door and in a poor state, needs updating and cleaning. But as long as you don't need to use the bathroom, it's a great place to enjoy breakfast. I did not go for lunch or dinner so I can't speak on it, but I did see the menu had lunch and dinner. Went here on a Sunday afternoon. They had just over an hour left til close, but they were still gracious hosts, food was good and hot, fresh, with flavor, prepared with care. As with many restaurants in the area, finding good, plentiful help is a challenge so yes there were tables that needed to be bussed which the staff had not yet gotten to. I do agree it doesn't make a good first impression, but it's an interesting time we live in. We had a chicken sandwich, breakfast foods, bloody Mary's, fish, and a few odds and ends. Several of us were first time patrons and overall there were few complaints about anything at the table. A co-worker told me about Warwick RestauranT. They gave great reveiws. Today my family and I decided to try it out. The customer service was horrible. We sat for 15 minutes patiently for someone to serve us. customers after us were being served. I flagged a waitress and when she came to table and I voice my concerns about sitting for so long without being served she waived me off and said, "I am not doing this". Did not get someone else to wait on us. So I asked another waitress for the manager. We were served after that but we should not have been treated like to begin with. The restaurant wasn't busy so we stopped in for lunch. My boyfriend ordered the ham and cheese sandwich and they sent out plain toast. The server didn't pay any attention and set it on the table with no concern. I ordered bulgogi and the server appeared to have never heard of it before, despite it being offered in 2 different places on the menu. It was also supposed to come with soup but that never came. We told the older Asian woman about it (she was the only one allowed to check anyone out so we guessed she was the owner) and she chuckled but offered no explanation or apology.
