Terrible experience. I don't usually try new barbers, but needed to get a haircut quickly and took a chance based on some of the good reviews I saw. The barber that cut my hair was an elder Vietnamese man. Unfortunately, I did not get his name, but he was not very hygienic to start with - I had to insist that he sanitize clippers and any other things he was using to cut my hair - something that is common practice for barbers. He also kept coughing on me so I asked him to please step back if he had to cough and not do it over me. The hair cut was a disaster - simple even low cut had uneven patches of hair on my head that he missed and tried to justify when I pointed it out. I had asked for a razor shave to line up my full beard, and he put so much foam on my face that it was impossible for him to see the hairline he was supposed to be edging up. I pointed this out to him and he initially resisted and then logic prevailed so he wiped off some of the foam. The straw that broke the camel's back was when he cut me above my chin with his careless handling of the razor. At that point, I stopped the hair cut and left with a partially finished cut, drove out to Greenbelt and apologized to my regular barber - who fixed the disaster - for taking a chance on another due to convenience and proximity. read more

I have been going to this place for a few years. I always go to Hana and she is perfection for my asian hair. I can't speak for how the other barbers in the place are. Hana always does my hair the way I like and in ~20 min. I usually get a fade. I have had my hair butchered plenty of times over the years, so I am quite particular about lines, shape, etc. of the cut. She is quick, friendly, and does it the same way every time. Price for a cut is normal for the area and the place doesn't look anything special, but if I get a good cut, I could care less what it looks like. I always just get a cut, but I'm sure you can get your hair shampooed and a shave if you want. Highly recommended! read more

So here is my short story: I moved to MD I believe about 5 to 6 years ago for employment before that I was living in NJ. While there (of course like most people) my hair started grow. I decided that it was time for a haircut. I was a bit hesitant because I only went to the barber shops I was familiar with back in NJ. But I told myself that I'm in a new place and it's time for a change. So I began venturing out to the many different barber shops in the area. All of them taking a shot at cutting my hair the way I like it. But upon completion I would be 95% dissatisfied (the other 5% was pleased just because I no longer had all the hair on my face and head). I was getting to the point where I was just going to give up and let my hair grow out. However, I decided to give the haircut thing one more shot and I was glad I did because I stumbled upon this place and finally had found a winner. The barber that cuts my hair is Hanna. She is nice, quick, makes you feel comfortable, and is very good at cutting hair the way you want/like it. Prices are pretty much consistent with other barber shops in the area. Now I gave this barber shop a 4 star because I can't vouch for the skills of the other employees. Also the place isn't upscale in regards to decor but it isn't bad either. Now if I am to rate Hanna (who cuts my hair) then she gets a 5 star from me. I absolutely enjoy having her cut my hair because she gets it right every time and I leave the shop 100% satisfied. Also once she becomes familiar with you, you don't even have to tell her how you like/want your hair because she already knows. Finally, she is super friendly. The sad thing is that now because I live in the VA area I can only go to this barber shop when I am in need of a haircut and in the MD area. Sigh. So if you are in need of a haircut and your in the vicinity of this barber shop then I say go to this barber shop and ask specifically for Hanna and I do believe that you will be quite satisfied with your haircut after she finishes. read more

I found this place about two years ago and I haven't been to another barber shop since. The prices are very reasonable (currently $16) and the haircuts are good. I have very thick hair, which can be a challenge to cut, but I'm consistently happy with the quality at Festival Barber shop. Also, the business is owned by a very friendly family who I really enjoy seeing when I get my haircut. In short, the prices are good, the haircuts are good, and the atmosphere is good. read more

Tried this place since I was in the area and needed a haricut....it was quick, but probably on par with a bad supercuts person. Hair came out pretty uneven and the guy trying to fix it was making it worse, so I had to call it and fix it myself at home.... read more

I have been going to this place for over 20 years. When I was younger, Em's daughters would cut my hair, but as their families grew they stopped working as much and Mr. Em himself took over as my barber. I would never go anywhere else. I hate being out of town and needing a haircut, so I'll usually wait to get one until I'm back in the area. Good prices and friendly fast service keep me coming back.
