I was at the Mauston store today and used the human checkout lane instead of the normal self-checkout because I had items that were marked down in price. The woman ringing up my groceries told me not to scan my gas card as it was a "security issue" and could be construed as "coming at her?" She literally lost it and told me to "NEVER DO THAT AGAIN." Handing her the gas card to have her scan it is no different than if I scanned it. The motions are identical. Also, If someone wanted to "come at her" she would have NO WAY to stop that person. So instead of harassing the customer for your faux "safety concerns," just do your job...what happened to the customer "always being right" read more

I "used" to shop at Festival Foods weekly or even more often. I went to buy dinner for my family a few days ago. I picked up "fresh" Strawberries that were overpriced and when looking at them they were already fuzzy with mold. Then I bought Chuck Roast and when I got home I realized that they were $11.99 a pound. I looked at other stores nearby and they were $7.99 a pound. Finally, I previously purchased Ground Hamburger. They are marked 1 pound. I took them home and took them out of the package and weighed the meat in the package. They are selling hamburger at 1 pound and are also weighing the package. You end up with about .8 of a pound of actual meat. On my next visit I told the butcher and he said they are prepacked from Corporate but he would tell them. It hasn't changed. I WILL NEVER shop at Festival Foods again. I'll drive the 30 minutes to other food stores. Over priced, mold and dishonest practices will lose a customer every time. read more

So, we usually shop in Reedsburg but were in Mauston and Festival appears to be the only game in town. Stopped in and color me shocked - it was pretty amazing. I was shopping for 3 specific recipes, 2 of which were vegan. I didn't look at the ingredient list until I was in the store, and then realized that I was going to have a problem. These recipes always call for weird ingredients, but I went down the natural foods aisle and they had everything. Extra firm tofu, portobello mushroom caps, arrowroot powder, tapioca powder, coconut aminos. Everything. And then all of the normal vegetarian stuff. They had low calorie and keto bread. They had Yasso Greek yogurt bars. The prices were the same as what I pay at Viking or Whole Foods. Fruits and veggies looked good, although I didn't see an organic section. I probably missed it bc I did find Organic Girl lettuce. And of course, the sale items like the yogurt bars were a good deal. The other thing that I will mention is that while I was shopping the manager or assistant manager or someone with a title was walking around the store, saying "hi" to customers and asking if they needed help. Haven't had that happen in a grocery store in decades - if ever. So, Festival is my new go to. Who'd a thunk??? read more

Again I went to Mauston to shop. Bought 400.00 worth of groceries. Went inthe ille where the bagger was and she moved over where there was less groceries. They need more baggers.the cashiers do very well but I feel sorry for the Elderly. I am in my 50's and would appreciate having a bagger. I would do self checkout if I want to bag my self. I love festival and they usually have what I need but extra baggers would help. read more

Expensive. Often out of stock or even the basics. Meat mediocre. Deli meats taste of salt. Produce poor in variety and quality if you can find what you need. The people are amazing. I hope they are well paid given they are pushing the Whole Foods price point. And I willingly shop at Whole Foods when I get the opportunity! I only go here if I forgot something and need it at the last minute for a meal I am preparing or if I have no transportation/cannot drive (like after surgery). read more

The people are great. The prices are on the high side and the meats don't cut it with me. Poor burger with lots of "unchewable" bits in it and the steaks are not very good, don't know why, been that way since they became Festival Foods. Good brats though. Chicken and pork is high...usually. The Liquor department is the bomb. Great selections on booze, wine, beer and good prices. They are competitive with J&S up the street. Produce can be really high. Last year (2022) the Habanero peppers were around $11 a pound, come on.....a week later they were about $7.99 a pound, really. read more

Never heard of this supermarket, decided to stop by and check it out during our roadtrip. Met a friendly couple here. Seriously, we met so many nice people in Wisconsin during our short roadtrip. They have cheese curds. Picked up Potosi root beer to try for the first time. Now, it's my favorite root beer to date. Before, it was Virgil's. Bought a pack of Virgil's when we ran out of Potosi, and it just made me miss Potosi even more. You know the feeling. read more

Decent access to organic, quality food in an area that's relatively barren - outside of head cheese and every conceivable form of bacon one could imagine. I don't frequent Mauston often, but make a point to stop here for supplies when I do. The few times I've had expired or faulty products, they've been incredibly amenable to sorting it out. The store is really clean and well-lit, and makes shopping far less of a headache than it usually is. Finally, the liquor store that's adjacent has a diverse selection and great prices. read more

Kind of disappointed in the Mauston Festival. Dairy and Frozen seems to be out of so many items lately. I understand the shortages,but this is getting ridiculous. Maybe order more often. Most of the time there is no one around. I'm in shopping weekly if not more. Most of the staff is wonderful,kind and helpful. Deli and produce staff is always helpful. Some of the Managers are not very friendly. SMILE would be nice. Saying HELLO should be encouraged. This is our only big store in town. Walmart is another option but I like to buy local. Not bad. Not bad at all. Great prices at this place. Then again, I think prices any where outside of the City of Chicago are probably a lot more inexpensive. This place had pretty much everything you could need at a great price. Went in over Labor Day weekened and got a great deal on full slabs of ribs that turned out EXCELLENT. The liquor/beer selection was very extensive as well. Much more then you would think in a grocery store. read more

I really don't understand local folks complaining about the prices when they employ a lot of local people. Your dollars will either stay in the community you live in or you give them to other communities you don't live in, but still want the local one to support local sports and community events. The produce is fresh and you can find items here not available elsewhere. The health food section was greatly expanded and much appreciated. The butchers are always a wealth of information. On weekends they actually have people just directing you where you need to go to find something. The staff is friendly. It is nice to have a local grocery store to meet the needs of many people and not have to drive 30-40 miles. They will also do your shopping for you and carry out to your vehicle. And yes, the beer/wine/liquor section is really nice including an array of condiments to make most anything you want. It has a whole aisle dedicated to Wisconsin wine! Great place to shop! read more

The prices are on the higher side. The staff is friendly and they have a great selection. They usually have a lot of sales going on. There's a liquor store attached to it (you can mix and match your own 6 packs of beer) there's also a Redbox at the entrance as well as a US cellular kiosk. read more

No competition for at least 40 miles equals high prices. Deli is so-so. Produce prices are outrageous, as are any of the items in the tiny natural foods section. Check expiration dates before you buy. read more

I like this store . it used to be a pick and save yrs back. its huge and has a great selection of meats and everything else. I guess due to the overhead they have a bit higher prices on everything due to the number of workers and the size of the store. but its a great store theres a Walmart superstore in the dells to the east on 90/94 and in adams wi.af market has better prices on many items but is a smaller grocery store .dollar general across the road also has cheaper items so I get what I need and then get other things there and at family dollar in Mauston also but festival is a nice fully stocked store with slightly higher prices on a lot of items read more

staff to busy sharing stories with each other to wait on customers. prices are on high side for the poor service. manager could care less about customer service, was guy standing at service desk with a green festival shirt, when i asked for help said ' sorry not my department'. he had a filthy dirty hat on and looked unkempt. baggers looked like had not washed hair and hands in weeks.....looking for a better place to shop! read more
