Our server arrived shortly after being seated and took our drink orders, piping hot fresh coffee arrived shortly afterwards. They have an extensive breakfast menu, however my lovely bride and I chose Denver Omelettes. They arrived piping hot! The hash browns had the perfect amount of crispy, a generous amount of the "garden" , cheese and ham in the omelette, while the raisin toast was fresh, most likely baked in house. We had a celebration of life for my brother at Park Oasis Restaurant and Bakery. The staff were awesome! The baked chicken and the ham were the two buffet options i chose. Both were great! Mashed potatoes, gravy, fruit bowl, green beans were great. Brownies were awesome. I love their bakery. They had about 9 different kinds of pie, huge cookies, different kinds of fudge, and many other choices. We were in a private room so isolated from the restaurant so we had a nice quiet space where people could talk about my brother. Prices were very reasonable and did I mention the GREAT STAFF! My Thanksgiving dinner experience 11/27/25: Arrived at Mauston Park Oasis at 12 noon. Took a booth; waitress was ready to go. Ordered two waters with lemon slices and the turkey special. Got two salads within two minutes. Before I took my first bite, the waitress brought two turkey specials with sides of rolls and cranberry sauce, and the check, then walked off. She said sorry, the kitchen is working fast. There were two other couples in the entire restaurant. She could have at least held the ticket until we were done with our salads. Five minutes later, she asked what we wanted for dessert. Now I'm pissed - why the rush when no one is here? The dinner was subpar: turkey was okay, one piece of sweet potato, a golf ball-sized scoop of mashed potatoes, the same for stuffing, green beans cooked right with a little snap, but half of them had stems connected, and some sort of stalk from the plant. The cook wasn't very observant. I wasn't enjoying this. She had already dropped off to-go containers and two desserts in to-go containers. Went to pay, waited for her to ask how everything was, but she didn't, so I brought it up. I told her in the past I was given more time to eat when I ordered a hamburger there. I looked at the clock on the wall - 12:17 - and I'm ready to go out the door. She said, 'Yeah, that's good, right?' I said, 'No, I would have liked a relaxing Thanksgiving meal that I could enjoy.' Her reply was, 'Oh well, have a nice day.' I wasn't expecting that. I walked out and got back home at 12:30, just 2 1/2 blocks away. $42.96 in one half hour. Generally good overall. The diner is warm and inviting with a classic rustic lodge theme. Painting of various outdoor scenes, hang along the walls and are priced for sale. I chose the sirloin steak and eggs this morning and was pleasantly surprised as the steak came out a perfect medium rare but could have been better with a little bit of course salt. Eggs were over-easy without being too runny and the hashbrowns were good and crispy on the outside. The lady serving and taking orders was very nice and kept our drinks full. Haven't tried it, but they have many baked goods for sale in the case up front, and they look amazing. Great local place to stop right off of I-94 in Mauston Wisconsin. Bonus at this stop! They have a tenant next door that just happens to be Carr Valley Cheese, and if you haven't tried Carr Valley, you have definitely got to check them out. I loved the chili. Cheese curds were okay (wasn't really in the mood for them, but waitress offered it and I said okay). I loved my BLT, wish it came with more than one leaf of lettuce though. Hubby did not like the chicken and dumplings, it had vegetables in it that he doesn't like and he only ate the dumplings, and there was no chicken in his bowl. He got the spaghetti with meat sauce and toast, he liked it and he is picky with spaghetti. He also got the carrot cake, he was surprised there was actual carrot in it.. lol. He was also surprised at how big of a slice it was for how little they charged for it, he couldn't finish it and had some leftover when he brought it home. Ordered a 3 egg Denver omelette no cheese crispy hash browns And please cook the ham and veggies because for some reason most restaurants in Wisconsin cook the eggs then throw the cold ham crunchy green peppers and onions on it and fold it up. Well this is wha I got. A bed of crispy hash browns with a couple of scrambled eggs on top of that and cold ham and crunchy green peppers and onions sprinkled over that. Had high hopes for this place but was underwhelmed. Stopped while traveling. The food was very, very salty and seemed low quality. The service was mediocre. I don't think we'd go back again. One positive thing is that the cheese curds were VERY good. Met family here for late breakfast/early lunch today. My corned beef hash was really good, but my over easy eggs had same uncooked whites and my coffee tasted burnt. I was the outlier though. No one else had any complaints. The Bakery case looked amazing, so I had piece excellent pecan pie. Diane loved her pumpkin cheesecake. We ordered eggs and it took 40 minutes for them! Usually, I am passing thru and just want a quick bite and gas up. Might not happen, if the lot is full... In the past years it was usually pretty fast. Not for the last couple years. On the good side, when I ask for onions in the hash browns(you need to ask or you don't get any) they are delicious. Coffee's good. I think the backup is in the kitchen, because the waitresses are always hopping... They have a gift shop with cheese/beer/stuff, but it's pricey. Popped in for a lunch with my kids a few days before school kicked off. It was insanely quiet and we were the only diners for about twenty minutes, so I was a bit skeptical. The kids ordered breakfast and I got a club with onion rings. My kids loved their pancakes, the club was your average club, nothing crazy BUT those onion rings! I could have ate another plate of those by themselves. About half way through the meal, what I would assume were regulars (greeted by names) popped in and business stated to pick up. Most of the customers were in the 50+ crowd. If you do stop in, I highly recommend grabbing cookies to go for dessert. We bought the m&m ones and made ice cream sandwiches with them. Came with eggs to order, slice of (thin) ham, two pancakes, and american fries. All was decent except the american fries. Rather than cubed, the potatoes were sliced very thin, like for potato chips. When i ordered them "crisp", they were!!, most definitely! Prices were decent, enough parking, Best Western motel on premise, and a Shell gas station. Stopped for breakfast this past Saturday. Not crowded but busy. Took 5 min to get a waitress. I got a menu and when she came back, I ordered Eggs Benedict and Hash browns, no coffee, just water. The meal came pretty quick. I have had Eggs Benedict many many times, but never like this. Smothered in Hollendais sauce, a poached egg on half of an english muffin. The muffin was not toasted, in fact it appeared to have come right from the package. It was cold. There was a 1/16th in thick wafer of canadian bacon on each muffin. They too, were cold. This is the worst excuse for Egg Beneidict I have ever had. I was not even asked if I wanted toast. I paid my bill of $9.81. I noticed I was being charged a "Non Cash Adjustment" fee of $.33 because I paid with a credit card. Nowhere did I see, nor was I told that there would be a charge for using a credit card. I will avoid this restaurant in the future and I recommend that if you stop by to eat there, make sure you are told about extra fees. Its not the 33 cents extra that bothers me, its the feeling they are gouging the customer! Really bad experience! read more
