Updated Review 8.20.26 Hiring #FGPaversandturf, "mistake, big mistake". 14 months out and they're still making corrections after two other contractors identifying the issues. The correction was to add more sand over and over again. CSLB complaint, primarily over the pathway which they only showed me one way to install due to the design with the red bricks reset on the original design. Change order for Pavers instead and they still installed them the same way as the red bricks. Said it's my fault because I "Green lighted installation", the only installation I was shown. The other contractors who provided quotes to fix all issues, told me it was installed incorrectly. Even corrections have to be redone because sealer was sprayed on and directions, not followed. They need to lift them up again put a new pavers and reseal correctly according to manufacturer directions. It shouldn't have to be this hard.

We hired FG Pavers and Turf to redo our front yard landscaping, and I genuinely believe they're one of the best contractors we've worked with in the Bay Area. The project took about 10 days to complete. The crew worked Monday through Saturday, arriving at 7:30am and staying until around 7:00pm each day. They were incredibly efficient and detail-oriented. The quality of their workmanship is excellent. What really stood out to me was how clean and organized they kept everything, they thoroughly cleaned up before leaving every day, which I truly appreciated. We started with Hugo the sales guy, to settle down the design, scope and price, it was great to work with. Nick, the project manager, communication was smooth and clear throughout the working process, from the initial design phase all the way to the final handoff. Everything felt well-coordinated and stress-free. Overall, we're extremely satisfied with the results and would highly recommend FG Pavers and Turf to anyone looking for landscaping services.
We engaged FG Pavers and Turf in the late spring for a backyard remodel for a townhome whose access to the yard was only through a back alley. We originally picked them because they could do both a yard and a custom louvered pergola for what seemed like a more reasonable quote than competitors who could do only one or the other. In the end, the HOA didn't allow a pergola, and even if they did, the City of Walnut Creek has limits to the amount of cover allowed for our lot. So we scrapped the pergola, but went forward with the landscaping. Our project manager was Hugo Z.. The site lead was Fernando, and the main landscaper was Saul. All were super nice and very responsive once the work started. There was a lot of preliminary back and forth to sort out the situation with the pergola and HOA since our space was too small for standard sized ready-made pergolas, but I wasn't exactly in a hurry either, so work didn't begin until August. Once it did, it went faster than I expected, and the quality of work that Saul did was really great. We had a combination of super lush/thick grass, channel drain, porcelain tile, stamped concrete, and rocks. I had serious doubts about the intermediate color and pattern of the stamped concrete prior to the final glossy seal, because colors on paper don't translate to real life. However, the transformation of the yard, including the final base color on the stamped concrete after the glossy seal, is pretty incredible. While I would love to credit my design sense, the truth is that FG executed it amazingly. I was impressed with the detail of a small concrete step that was covered in porcelain tile that was beautifully done. Great craftsmanship. Good communication. This was not a budget renovation--it's great quality work and competitive. I do wish the digital payment option allowed credit cards or PayPal, but that's no ding on the team. This review is long overdue. But thank you, FG team, for transforming this small backyard from "mid" to a resort-like retreat.
Hugo went above and beyond for our yard! Very short notice, we needed everything to be installed within 3 days and he made it happen within 2 days! He is very knowledgeable on what we needed for our dogs and also made great suggestions. He also helped us fix some issues with our gate door and also installed gate lock. We couldn't be happier!
We hired FG Pavers for our backyard remodel project that was designed through Yardzen. Daniel (the designer) provided great feedback and suggested some changes that we are so happy we did. Nick (the project manager) was also a pleasure to work with and easy to get a hold of via phone. I do however wish that an FG Paver rep was on site more often, as most of our project was completed by their sub GR Paver (who was also not local). This is something to take into consideration should you decide to work with them.
tl;dr - their crew did such an amazing job on our front and backyard. They went above and beyond, and their work reflects that. I met with 8 (!) contractors, all with well above 4.5 stars and multiple reviews. We measured our front and back yard and had a good idea of the square footage. Of the 8, only 4 measured accurately. FG Pavers and Turf was on the dot. There were a few that measured about ~30%-50% more. That extra 600 sqft would've been costly! We're very minimal, we just wanted more usable space with minimal maintenance, so we wanted to replace all of the mulch with pavers in the backyard. And the front we wanted turf to replace our pebbles. They didn't try to upsell or sell me on something beyond what we wanted. They were very transparent the installation process, and the quote included detailed visualization of the installation & materials. They were the ONLY 1 that actually took the time to go back and forth with me to answer my questions, designs, materials, and work with me on a proposal that fit my budget. Huge, huge shout-out to Daniel! They were also able to fit me in their schedule and started just 2 days after signing. I met with Eduardo several times as he dropped by to check on the progress and let me know of any issues that came up. Daniel and Eduardo provided clear communication of the progress the entire time. Also massive props to the crew. There's narrow access to the backyard so they were out their shoveling for days. They also went above and beyond. There was a beat-up easement in my backyard that was covered by dirt and mulch . They repaired the easement and I didn't even ask for it! My front yard has a big section of mulch that had weeds, but the work was just to replace pebbles in another section. They cleaned up the weeds and all around the entire front yard anyways. They got the job done in a week. On the last day, I can see the crew go over their work multiple times, tidying & cleaning everything up. I'm absolutely floored by their craftsmanship and attention to detail. Some other tidbits: there was 2 companies that mentioned a install warranty, FG Pavers and Turf had 15-year install warranty, the other had 1-year. I must say, the project turned out way better than we expected. We already got compliments from our neighbors and family. We absolutely recommend FG Pavers and Turf!
We had turf and paver and bark installed. Fernando was outstanding as the lead, answering any and all questions. He was very detail oriented and gave us some good suggestions. The rest of his crew were fantastic, very pleasant and hard working. The property was always cleaned up each day. You'd barely know they were here. Again the crew was fantastic and the job well done.
We recently worked with FG Pavers and Turf to transform our backyard--and we're thankful and happy to have a peaceful outdoor space for us, dogs, guests, and native wildlife. The design was tailored with dogs in mind, including a turf area and a decomposed granite (DG) dog zone. We also planted native and drought-tolerant plants, and FG installed drip irrigation to each one. Our project manager Nick and salesperson Daniel were both incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and honest throughout the whole process. Nick was here daily and gave flexible solutions when greatly needed. There was even a layout feature we missed in the original Yardzen design, and they made it happen for us at the last minute. They also helped us tweak the design to fit our space more practically. The plants are adapting, the DG has good drainage, and we love the overall flow and look of the yard now. The crew did great work and handled everything thoroughly with care and craftsmanship. They finished the project much faster and efficiently than we thought possible. Very happy with how the project with FG Pavers and Turf turned out! From the prompt initial response to my inquiry to the final walk through of the completed work, the experience was hassle free and exceeded expectations. It was a pleasure working with Daniel to go through our ideas of what we wanted to do and we appreicated his honesty and experience in guiding us in the project plan. He quickly put together an estimate that was fair and reasonable. We finalized the details and before we knew it the project was starting. Once the project was underway, Eduardo and Eddie were a pleasure to work with as well. They had a great attention to detail and were very attentive to any questions or adjustments we had along the way. They also did a great job keeping me informed of any relevant updates throughout the project. The rest of the crew was top notch, one of the hardest working crews I've had the experience of working with. I was amazed how quickly they were making progress. They kept the work site clean and tidy at the end of each day. These guys have really mastered their craft and set a very high bar for themselves in terms of quality work. It is apparent they take great pride in what they do and they are clearly very skilled in their areas of expertise. The precision of the stonework was quite remarkable. The work ethic really stood out to me. Scope of work included demo of a thick section of concrete at the front of the house and replacement with pavers, as well as side entry that was tile overlay on concerete in dire need of replacement. We also had them replace a concerete walkway with pavers that was lifting from underground roots and install pavers in an unfinished area for the trash cans. Both side yards were also rennovated, one with artificial turf and the other with a gravel and flagstone walkway. Additionally, they replaced mulch throughout the garden areas and replaced an arbor that was due for a refresh. We felt like everybody involved with the project went the extra mile to ensure we were more than satisfied with the finished work. I would not hesitate to work with FG Pavers and Turf again or recommend them to anyone I know that is looking to have the space around their home transformed into something wonderful. Thanks again!
They did an amazing job on my front and backyard renovation. Daniel was the best and answered all my many questions and concerns in a very timely manner. Eduardo was also great and helpful and checked in and came on site often throughout to check on the progress of the job. Jose and his whole team were also amazing and very hard working! There were some very long days and they pushed through the rain, hot sun, and always with a smile. I felt very supported and always knew what was going on even when I went on vacation while they were still finishing up. . We did a complete demo of the backyard (lots of old stamped concrete and an old deck) and installed all new pavers, a basketball court, turf, and beautiful landscape throughout. I would highly recommend them for your project
I had FG Pavers and Turf install turf in both my backyard and front. Erik gave my quote and it was a very reasonable price. The installers were very courteous, quick and attentive to what we wanted. They got the job done quickly and offered to come back should anything need attention. This turf is amazing! My two large German Shepherds don't know how to be gentle in the backyard but this turf has held up to their chaos. I would recommend FG Pavers to anyone looking for an upgrade to their property!!
We wholeheartedly recommend FG Pavers for anyone who needs hardscape renovations done for their property. We had approximately 6000 sq. ft. of work including 2500sq ft of pavers, about equal that in artificial turf, and a 3ft high retaining wall that ran about 120ft. We interviewed 7 different contractors with high ratings on Yelp and Google, and narrowed it down to FG and another company we would have been happy to go with. Hiring a contractor is always a bit of a crapshoot but I feel we got very fortunate to meet Daniel and his team after a lot of hard work and due diligence in our selection process. Start to finish, we began interviewing in November of 2024 and finished up work in May 2025. We chose FG for a number of reasons. First, Daniel was professional, knowledgeable and detailed in the initial consultation and quoting process. His quote left no question what they were, and were not, going to do, and his prices were in line with other contractors. Equally important was that Daniel is a calm, neutral presence. Not salesy, responsive to texts and calls, and reasonable in his responses. Not over promising, but also able to execute what we wanted with minimal headaches and never any pushback. He even met us at SiteOne to go over options and pricing for pavers. And, the pictures online demonstrated an attention to detail and sophistication that other companies seemed to lack. We wanted to go with a smaller, local company rather than contract out to a larger corporation that charges more simply for name and overhead. They were able to start within about 3 weeks. Once ground broke, things moved FAST. Incredibly fast. Massive bobcats working straight 8 hours a day fast. As the backyard got rolling and we were happy with the crew and results, we added a new driveway to complete the entire look because it made sense and the team was there and working quickly. The paver job was excellent. Crisp cuts, sharp lines, imperfections only if you get down on your hands and knees to see. You can see some very faint seams in the artificial turf but it's hardly noticeable unless you're being super critical. One area of turf is slightly rippling near a circular landscape cutout but it's not worth worrying about. Special shoutout to Eduardo, the foreman, and the crew who showed up every day, worked hard and professionally, without smoking or music or other distraction. All very professional and polite. Our job was not without its hiccups, however. Any job will have some issues and ours was no different. Daniel's initial quote for dirt removal came up very short for the design we decided on. So, that was an extra charge that FG helped foot the bill for since the initial quote was so low. Also, and this is probably a good thing, the workers (Eduardo and his crew) go VERY strictly to the plan. I think Daniel could have done a little better job specifying in the planning phase that whatever you approve on the plan WILL be followed, to the foot/inch. Once the backyard came to life it was clear we needed more lights here, the path to be wider here, etc. They are super flexible changing on the fly, but if it will require upcharge they will charge. Fair though. We contracted them to install a yardistry gazebo as well, and they got the measurements wrong slightly so that the drainage and downspouts didn't line up as we'd intended. Unable to change the location of the massive concrete footers, gazebo, they were able to come up with a creative rerouting of the downspouts that works well. One of the downspouts leaked all over the driveway after a few weeks on a damp dewy morning, they came by to fix it. At month two a few of the pavers separated on the edges, and they came out to fix it no problem within a week. And, there is a slight separation (like, 1/4 inch) on two of the bricks of the retaining wall but nothing worth worrying about unless it gets worse. Overall we are very pleased with choosing FG and would recommend them without reservation.

Project: Installing Porcelain/Saltillo-style matte patio with inlays and a paver walkway Summary: I'd hire FG Pavers and Turf again at the drop of a hat, no questions asked. Bid/Quote: They came, inspected the project site and gave a complete quote including the construction detail. Tiles in an outdoor patio is uncommon, so we had a lot of questions from the grading to rebar to water proofing to sealent to grout. FG answered all the questions and accommodated our requests to align with the tile vendor recommendations. Price competitiveness: We spoke with 4 paver companies. 1 didn't want to do Porcelain tiles+ Paver, 1 didn't meet our budget, job was too small for one. Project Management: regular site visits by the site lead. Eduardo is a gem. They helped us pick the right material, picked up the tiles, did the dry layout and kept us updated on the schedule Work site: Saul and his team were punctual, spotless at the end of workday and walked through every step of the process. They made sure we reviewed the progress and that we approved the changes. We had a couple of last minute changes. Eduardo/Saul accommodated that. From start to finish they communicated frequently about all steps of the process, gave great recommendations and did high quality work. I had an old concrete patio that needed replacing and new hardscape needed for an outdoor kitchen. I had a vision of what I wanted and Daniel helped me bring it to life with his design expertise. His project plan for the job also worked within my timeline and my budget. The crew that did the work were outstanding. From the prompt initial response to my inquiry to the final walk through of the completed work, the experience was hassle free and exceeded expectations. It was a pleasure working with Daniel to go through our ideas of what we wanted to do and we appreicated his honesty and experience in guiding us in the project plan. He quickly put together an estimate that was fair and reasonable. We finalized the details and before we knew it the project was starting. Once the project was underway, Eduardo and Eddie were a pleasure to work with as well. They had a great attention to detail and were very attentive to any questions or adjustments we had along the way. They also did a great job keeping me informed of any relevant updates throughout the project. The rest of the crew was top notch, one of the hardest working crews I've had the experience of working with. I was amazed how quickly they were making progress. They kept the work site clean and tidy at the end of each day. These guys have really mastered their craft and set a very high bar for themselves in terms of quality work. It is apparent they take great pride in what they do and they are clearly very skilled in their areas of expertise. The precision of the stonework was quite remarkable. The work ethic really stood out to me. Scope of work included demo of a thick section of concrete at the front of the house and replacement with pavers, as well as side entry that was tile overlay on concerete in dire need of replacement. We also had them replace a concerete walkway with pavers that was lifting from underground roots and install pavers in an unfinished area for the trash cans. Both side yards were also rennovated, one with artificial turf and the other with a gravel and flagstone walkway. Additionally, they replaced mulch throughout the garden areas and replaced an arbor that was due for a refresh. We felt like everybody involved with the project went the extra mile to ensure we were more than satisfied with the finished work. I would not hesitate to work with FG Pavers and Turf again or recommend them to anyone I know that is looking to have the space around their home transformed into something wonderful. They did an amazing job on my front and backyard renovation. Daniel was the best and answered all my many questions and concerns in a very timely manner. Eduardo was also great and helpful and checked in and came on site often throughout to check on the progress of the job. Jose and his whole team were also amazing and very hard working! There were some very long days and they pushed through the rain, hot sun, and always with a smile. I felt very supported and always knew what was going on even when I went on vacation while they were still finishing up. . We did a complete demo of the backyard (lots of old stamped concrete and an old deck) and installed all new pavers, a basketball court, turf, and beautiful landscape throughout. I had FG Pavers and Turf install turf in both my backyard and front. Erik gave my quote and it was a very reasonable price. The installers were very courteous, quick and attentive to what we wanted. They got the job done quickly and offered to come back should anything need attention. This turf is amazing! My two large German Shepherds don't know how to be gentle in the backyard but this turf has held up to their chaos. We wholeheartedly recommend FG Pavers for anyone who needs hardscape renovations done for their property. We had approximately 6000 sq. ft. of work including 2500sq ft of pavers, about equal that in artificial turf, and a 3ft high retaining wall that ran about 120ft. We interviewed 7 different contractors with high ratings on Yelp and Google, and narrowed it down to FG and another company we would have been happy to go with. Hiring a contractor is always a bit of a crapshoot but I feel we got very fortunate to meet Daniel and his team after a lot of hard work and due diligence in our selection process. Start to finish, we began interviewing in November of 2024 and finished up work in May 2025. We chose FG for a number of reasons. First, Daniel was professional, knowledgeable and detailed in the initial consultation and quoting process. His quote left no question what they were, and were not, going to do, and his prices were in line with other contractors. Equally important was that Daniel is a calm, neutral presence. Not salesy, responsive to texts and calls, and reasonable in his responses. Not over promising, but also able to execute what we wanted with minimal headaches and never any pushback. He even met us at SiteOne to go over options and pricing for pavers. And, the pictures online demonstrated an attention to detail and sophistication that other companies seemed to lack. We wanted to go with a smaller, local company rather than contract out to a larger corporation that charges more simply for name and overhead. They were able to start within about 3 weeks. Once ground broke, things moved FAST. Incredibly fast. Massive bobcats working straight 8 hours a day fast. As the backyard got rolling and we were happy with the crew and results, we added a new driveway to complete the entire look because it made sense and the team was there and working quickly. The paver job was excellent. Crisp cuts, sharp lines, imperfections only if you get down on your hands and knees to see. You can see some very faint seams in the artificial turf but it's hardly noticeable unless you're being super critical. One area of turf is slightly rippling near a circular landscape cutout but it's not worth worrying about. Special shoutout to Eduardo, the foreman, and the crew who showed up every day, worked hard and professionally, without smoking or music or other distraction. All very professional and polite. Our job was not without its hiccups, however. Any job will have some issues and ours was no different. Daniel's initial quote for dirt removal came up very short for the design we decided on. So, that was an extra charge that FG helped foot the bill for since the initial quote was so low. Also, and this is probably a good thing, the workers (Eduardo and his crew) go VERY strictly to the plan. I think Daniel could have done a little better job specifying in the planning phase that whatever you approve on the plan WILL be followed, to the foot/inch. Once the backyard came to life it was clear we needed more lights here, the path to be wider here, etc. They are super flexible changing on the fly, but if it will require upcharge they will charge. Fair though. We contracted them to install a yardistry gazebo as well, and they got the measurements wrong slightly so that the drainage and downspouts didn't line up as we'd intended. Unable to change the location of the massive concrete footers, gazebo, they were able to come up with a creative rerouting of the downspouts that works well. One of the downspouts leaked all over the driveway after a few weeks on a damp dewy morning, they came by to fix it. At month two a few of the pavers separated on the edges, and they came out to fix it no problem within a week. And, there is a slight separation (like, 1/4 inch) on two of the bricks of the retaining wall but nothing worth worrying about unless it gets worse. Overall we are very pleased with choosing FG and would recommend them without reservation. read more

We just completed a huge project with FG Pavers and Turf and would highly recommend working with them. Our project was a small space with a ton of details. We had many proposals and we felt FG Pavers were reasonable and came with amazing reviews and referrals. We worked with Saul, Eduardo day to day with many others (Hugo) in the mix to handle various things. Although we have found all home projects are more work than one would expect, we are very happy with the finished product. Saul and his kind team of hard working people were respectful, helpful and had impeccable taste. The company has also been responsive with our post project questions- and that's appreciated. We worked with one of the carpenter suppliers to build our deck and gate and although the end product was beautiful- working with their team was one of the more frustrating challenges. He listened to what we wanted, took some measurements and provided a professional written estimate before he left. There was no up selling. After comparing several quotes, we decide to go ahead with FG Pavers and Turf. It was easy to schedule the work and it was completed on time. Looking at the backyard now, it's difficult to imagine how big of a mess it was prior to FG's hard work. The crew worked hard almost every weekday (when the break in rain permitted) for two weeks to transform a rocky, barren landscape into a green oasis. Our furry companions now happily frolick through the yard every chance they get (and wait at the patio doors to go outside when indoors). From day one, the entire team has been very responsive in all aspects and communication was one of the elements I was most appreciative of. It was an easy decision to work with FG given that and their attention to detail -- from the initial design, to every brick laid for the border. We recently filled in our pool with the plan to completely re-do our backyard. After getting plans/renderings done by Yardzen, we interviewed several contractors and based on our interactions with our eventual project manager Ryan as well as their competetive pricing, we went with FG Pavers for our backyard transformation. Our project included installation of pavers and rock in our entire backyard and both side yards, drip irrigation and installation of all new plants/trees, the demolition of an existing overhang/balcony and the construction of a new, larger balcony, the construction of a large enclosed walk-in planter box, and integrated lighting. This was the largest home renovation project we've tackled to date, and Ryan and his team (plus the external contractor teams recommended by FG Pavers to do the balcony deck and planter box builds, and the plant/tree installation) were all very courteous, helpful, and available for questions/feedback all along the way. Ryan was always available to provide updates, ask questions of us on our preferences, and provide feedback when we had our own questions that popped up daily. In the end, our project went as planned, and we are very happy with the results. I am writing this review about 4 months after the work has been completed and we are still really happy with how everything turned out. We would not hesitate to bring FG Pavers back in for our future projects and would definitely recommend them to any of our friends looking to transform their front or back yards. read more

I sold a house for a client last month. Their landscaping had a clean look and was well done. They said that FG Pavers did the install. Last year I had some problems with a swindler who had lied about his license status, so I'm very picky as to who works on my property now. I called in and Ryan reached back out quickly and efficiently. He came over, gave me a reasonable bid on installing a 10X20 pad using large pavers. I have a large family event next month and wanted to be sure they could do the job in the time period I needed. Ryan assured me they could start in three weeks and finish in a week. A couple of days later he called and said they had finished up another job early and could get the install started right away and have it finished before I left to go out of town in 10 days. His foreman Ernie was there that afternoon. The guys arrived the next afternoon. The ground is super hard at my house, that California adobe and all, so I figured it was going to take a few days for his guys to dig it out. I also knew that the swindler I previously mentioned, hadn't buried the electrical line to my out building to code and that needed to be dropped to put in the pad. My electrician was able to get there the next morning, but at that point, FG's guys were working so quickly that they were waiting for my electrician to finish pulling in longer wires so that the pipes could be dropped to code. By the end of the next day, my beautiful patio was installed and I could not be happier. Their guys worked quickly, hard and efficiently. They also worked "clean", meaning they cleaned up everything. I wasn't picking up bits of this and that after they left. When they back a truck into my driveway I noticed that they covered my driveway under the engine of the truck so that if it leaked it didn't drip on my new driveway. Little stuff like that matters. As a real estate agent and I will be happy to refer FG Pavers to my clients. They are impressive. read more
