They also carved out a lovely hillside with custom stairs, a spacious terrace, and game trails perfect for enjoying the view. LEI works with YesPlease.Garden (YPG) who managed the design process and Fresh Coat Restoration who completed the new fence. The partnerships were well integrated and it felt like working with a single team. See my Google Maps review for more on YPG. We are very happy with our project and would recommend LEI because they were professional, courteous, reliable, and provided clear and upfront pricing. Documenting decisions in writing proved helpful for keeping everyone on the same page. Any problems we had were resolved fairly, such as correcting the direction of our stairs. Aaron is a man of his word but prefers to conduct most of his business through texting. We first contacted LEI and they promptly scheduled a time to visit our property with YPG to see what was possible within the budget we set out. We completed the design with YPG and LEI scheduled a time for the project demolition. A later approximate time for planting was set, but that was dependent on the availability of the various plants we had selected. Everything scoped in the design was completed within the budget and any add-ons we later requested were priced separately and fairly.

For months, work was moving forward almost every day, from demolition prep and grading to hardscape, planting, irrigation, lighting, fencing, pergola installation, pebble work, and the finishing touches. The quality of the work was excellent throughout. The paver patio, carport, and front entry all turned out beautifully, and the plants, irrigation, and lighting were installed with great care. We were especially impressed by the rock and pebble work, particularly the dry creek and front mow strip. The mix of stone sizes gave everything a natural, detailed, and polished look that really elevated the final result. Aaron also has a strong eye for detail. He regularly caught things that needed adjustment, even when we had not noticed them ourselves, and he stayed focused on getting everything right. While there were some issues that delayed finishing the project, Aaron took responsibility and worked with us to make them right, which we truly appreciated. In the end, what matters most is that we are thrilled with the outcome. Our yard feels beautiful, welcoming, and complete, and we look forward to years of enjoying it.

He even called in Victor, who came in on his day off to replace the sump pump, get all the water out, and just take care of the entire situation for us. They installed a lawn where there used to be gravel, built a new gate to the side yard, installed transformers to run low-voltage nights automatically when it's dark, and redid a lot of the irrigation. Upon inspecting, didn't consult, but rather hastily left even without an idea of next steps. It's been two weeks now since the in-person consult and we still haven't received a follow-up or estimate. Sure, Hulu's work may be sound, but we will not be working with this company as there are better options out there if communication and service are important to you.

While some may think this response abrupt or uncaring, Linda is clear in what she does (design) and does not do (installation). We did end up tweaking some design elements to lower installation cost but overall followed her plan. Even when we asked for different plants after her main design was completed, she helped us out at no additional cost. It was a good learning experience for us and we are happy with the final result. In addition, Linda's contractor referrals helped to seamlessly complete the project process. About six years ago, we had our front yard transitioned from lawn to drought-tolerant plants, but it hadn't been thriving. With Linda's help, we were able to keep the healthier plants and incorporate their place in the yard into Linda's plan. We appreciated that as well as her suggestion to transplant many of the existing plants that didn't really fit the front yard's plan to the backyard area where they can still be enjoyed. Ease of quoting process Before coming out in person, they were able to give us a ballpark price based on dimensions, fence type, and site images. This allowed me to decide whether to move forward and I thought this was really respectful of my time. Then, Dago, the owner, came for the site visit and to discuss details. 2. No bait and switch In ironing out the details, there was some miscommunication about whether staining was included. Dago was able to meet us halfway with the price increase. This honest business style continued throughout the project and no change orders or unexpected price increases happened. 3. Detail oriented Throughout the project, we discussed details such as fence posts placement relative to tree roots, post height, etc. Dago was both available in person and by email via his assistant Maria. It was also nice to have responses confirmed in writing so that things were clear and there would be no bait and switch. 4. Personality Dago is a really nice person and I enjoy speaking with his about his geriatric dogs, etc. This also helped me not feel anxious about the project, because I felt that I could trust him. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range, another was around $12K, and an outlier was above $20K. Dago's price was the lowest quote (with minute differences in material) and we are very glad we went with him!

NAB removed all the bad concrete and replaced it with pavers, and on the other side of the court, they added 5 feet of concrete where we had lawn, as well as adding to our existing retaining wall. After the pavers were installed, I noticed something not to my preference with the paver layout. I contacted Nick, our site manager from NAB, and he was very responsive, and arranged for Nate (the company president) to come out right away and discuss the matter, which was resolved that same day to my complete satisfaction. Nick also was happy to arrange for a few other small tasks related to bricks and concrete on our property to be taken care of, and they were - at no added cost. NAB construction was not the lowest bid we got for this work, but I have learned the hard way that going with the lowest price is not always a great idea, and I am glad I went with NAB for this project. I'm very satisfied with the results of this project, and would not hesitate to recommend NAB construction to others.

He was very unprofessional and used the terms "outside the scope of work" and asked us to make a "commitment" several times. I went to Brickyard on a Saturday at 8AM per the direction of Nick but when I called him about our selection he never called me back. He blamed us and said they lost money on the job because it took longer than expected. He tried to convince me to use a brick I did not like. And the biggest disappointment was the drainage that they left unfinished. We spent almost $10k but we feel like the job is incomplete. Wish we could recommend them but if they continue working with Nick Vard you should stay away.

Alex went beyond our expectations to do more work than we had even agreed upon to make sure that the job was completed to his expectations (which were beyond ours). They installed high quality turf, installed a rock/ fire pit area, and re-grouted our patio as part of the warranty from years before. They did a complete job. GMC Pavers did an awesome job on my patio, steps, and flagstones! I reached out to multiple contractors for the job and couldn't be happier that I ended up choosing them. Cathy came out to see my yard right away, had great suggestions, and was super receptive to any and all changes I had in mind during the design stage. Once we agreed upon the final dimensions, stone type, etc, her team was out there the very next Monday. I was super impressed with the work ethic and attention to detail of Gerardo and his team. GMC Pavers & Landscape did an incredible transformation of our entire front yard. They are hands down the best contractor I have worked with on projects. They were extremely attentive from the bidding process to the job completion. They were very competitive in their proposal. He did a great job in explaining the work and giving great suggestions. He is also of a very helping nature. He worked so hard in heat at my home. Their crew worked efficiently and cleaned up each day -- something we really appreciate. The pricing is fair for the good quality and scope, and the fact that they're a licensed contractor gave us peace of mind.

I told Pablo we would not start this job 2-4 months so I felt uncomfortable paying the deposit so early but he insisted. Pablo reassured me that for any reason we do not do the work, he would come and do a $1,000.00 worth of work, so I have nothing to worry about. When agreed to sign the contract Elite pavers. At the same time, they were also doing a big job at my Daughters house. that job was a mess. Total lack of supervision, the crew was taking lemons off of the tree and throwing them at each, crew sleeping in wheel barrels, cut concrete not using water creating dust onto the neighbors yard causing issues with neighbors, the bobcat was unloaded upside down and took over an hour to flip it back, didn't level the yard before compacting baserock.... I can go on & on. They kept making mistakes that my son in law would catch, just poor quality work. After seeing this work I decided not to proceed with having elite pavers do my driveway. So i asked for Pablo do a small repair in our back yard worth $1000 to atleast make use of the deposit I paid. When asked to do that repair, Pablo said our min job is $4,500.00. I reminded Pablo of our agreement and he said well you signed the contract. After a while, he refused to do work for me and also refused to return my deposit. After months of going back and forth he finally returned the $1000 but it came with very unprofessional text messages. Pablo is 20 years old, very young and a lot to learn but is definitely being controlled by his "boss" Fernando. Every time Fernando showed up at my daughter's job, that's when corners were cut and mistakes happened. This company seems very scammy and I would not trust this company to do work for you.

I didn't respond for a day, maybe 2, and I received a few text messages at the rate spammers do and a few phone calls. We've never talked outside of the messages attached. All I said was I received a quote for $14/sqft from a person that actually saw the job site. He goes to berate and be condescending to others because their price is low so he assumes it's not possible to offer quality, when he has no idea about the other company. He's greedy because he thinks he's the only paver guy in the game. Hah! His tactic takes advantage of unaware home owners but if you're informed and have already gotten 3 quotes with a wide range and know exactly what I'm wanting, I and others must not know and what we're doing, only he does. If anyone is interested, message me and I'll give you the breakdown of how I was able to get $14 and the exact contract structure with Belgrade pavers + speciality large format Belgrade stones. For him to just quote $18/sqft, never seeing the condition that may require so much less work, and be defensive about my response just goes to show you the attitude you'll receive if you work with him. Response: It may not make sense to you but it makes sense to me to leave a response because of your condescending comment and feedback. Many people start off at $18 and then somehow dropped to $11 after looking at the project. Hhhmmm A professional response could have been: "That's lower than I can do. Thank you for reaching out though." It's the condescension that I'd like to warn readers about.

The installation of the hardscape went smoothly and faster than we expected. Gabriel and his team are professional, responsive and easy to work with. They have relationships with other professionals (pergola installers, landscapers), which helped bring the backyard design to life.

I contacted BBP to remove my Endless Pool. Unlike a normal pool, part of this pool sits above…read moreground. It is about 6 feet deep, has jets attached to the pool, and has a metal as well as cement structure. In addition to the pool itself, there was a shed full of pool equipment, including motors, pool filter, and heater. The owner (Raphael) came by, examined the area, then sent me a reasonable quote followed by the contract. BBP quickly obtained the necessary permits and, as promised, two weeks later I was contacted with a removal date of the following week. The work was completed in two days by four workers who were polite, efficient, and skilled. They were very careful with my property and the cleanup was impeccable. Everything was left in much better shape than I expected. From start to finish, every interaction I had with BBP was positive and professional. I have engaged countless businesses and people to work on my properties over the last 40 years and can say, without reservation, that this was the best experience I've had. I cannot recommend BBP highly enough.
