Mr. Pavers is a family business in the finest sense. From starting to work with designer/estimator Kevin Kenny, who listened and examined site conditions very carefully and then fleshed out options that fit our needs very closely, to then meeting with Nelson, who added wonderful ideas without increasing costs, to then finalizing a contract which they followed with great integrity, to meeting with Glayston at the start of the job, who added still more incredible improvements with great care and efficiency, to then working with the demolition crew who carefully scheduled numerous large trucks unloading large volumes of materials in a highly coordinated fashion at very close to the time each particular material was actually needed, and never requiring large piles of rock, for example; I was astounded at how professional their organization and the very great care that was extended to keep the area as free of debris as possible, and to thereby avoid difficulties with neighbors; in spite of all of the heavy equipment that was also unloaded, used and reloaded, all with such smooth coordination. And the demolition crew proved so skillful that they were able to eliminate sidewalks, tree trunks, and every obstacle, each within minutes and with incredible precision, and without risk of injury to any worker or to any person nearby, and with incredible care not to damage any adjoining landscape or structure. BUT THEN IT GOT EVEN BETTER. The multiple installation crews turned out to be true craftsmen. The artistic layout of stones, their solidity, the cleanliness of the site, and their ability to solve problems was phenomenal. They would not tolerate anything but the finest result, not just with such graceful artistic consistency in spite of using pavers of various sizes and purposes, but also in replacing irrigation lines with far better than what had existed before for all lines impacted by digging, to adding drainage where none had existed, all to ensure that the pavers always remained solid. Their commitment to quality and to employing wonderful craftsmen that care so deeply about the final result made the price completely worth every dime. The incredible efficiency of each person at every step of the way, even during difficult, short, and wet December days, is why their price is among the most competitive. Their very fine workmanship is why no paver project should be considered without contacting them. Mr Pavers were great until we had a an issue....a big issue! Mr Pavers did a great job on front walkways in October of 2021 and we had no big issues. Now time to redo our pool deck and back patio, we went back to Mr Pavers for the job using the same BELGARD pavers. We agreed to a few suggestions that added to our job including; using pavers for a walkway that we were originally not going to do (note-walkway has a big tree above it); upgrading a drain cover to match the pavers, etc. Glaystone, Owner of Mr Pavers, noticed the salesman had failed to see a drain and he needed to add $300 to our already signed contract for that. We did not object and accepted the additional charge without complaining. We had a whole lot of pavers left from our front walkway project that we have stored on the side of our house. We asked John (the salesman) if we could save a few $ and use them for the backyard. He said no because the color would no longer match and more importantly, as a result we would need to treat those pavers with a sealer every 1-2 years going forward and he said " no one wants that expense!!! " He said we could just get rid of those pavers or use them in a place that we wouldn't care if they didn't match. We got off to a bumpy start with minor issues for example-the salesman John told us they could easily get the forklift by our pool equipment on the side of the house to get to the back. Well-not even close-and we needed to have our equipment moved. Glaystone told us John had simply measured wrong. We loved our new pavers when they were done until 5 DAYS later. After a windy night my husband went out early the next morning to clean up the leaves that fell. That's when we discovered the patio and pool deck were heavily stained. So we sent a video to Glaystone and asked that he call us. First, he said the stains must have come from our barbecue. After telling him we have not used it, he said he was out of town and we agreed to contact him when he got back. Glaystone surprised us (back from vacation early?) and showed up to look at the damage and immediately said he wasn't responsible because he can't control nature. The leaves from our trees had caused the stains. He told us the pavers were perfect when he finished the project 5 days earlier and he was done. We were stunned to say the least. Our basic expectation was that he had surely experienced this before and would help with the solution since it had only been 5 DAYS! But instead Glaystone said it was our choice not to seal the pavers because we were so "budget conscious"! But there had been no suggestion that we seal the pavers ever and in the years we have had the same trees and pavers in our front yard we had not one single stain. So we were "budget conscious" because we didn't want to cover half of our backyard with pavers as he kept pushing us to do? If he had EVER brought up the fact that having a lot of trees in our yard could cause a problem with stains we would have either chosen a different product or treated it. In regards to us being "budget conscious "....Was a 20k job too small for him (which was our 2nd project using him)? So we said at the very least, who do you use for an issue like this and he called his "friend". His friend arrived less than an hour later and gave us a quote of $1600 to clean our pavers and then $1100 to seal them, so $2700 total. If we go forward with this it would now need to be repeated every 2-3 years. There is absolutely no guarantee that the stains will be removed! Has BELGARD done something to change their pavers? Did Mr Pavers do something different? But the bottom line is after the completion of the second major project with Mr Pavers we expected better from them. Our expectation was that with damage to the pavers after 5 DAYS they would have them cleaned and the stains removed. See pictures attached. read more

Such was the case for our home. I happen to be skilled in 3D drafting and modeling in Sketchup, so I was able to clearly convey my goals without much confusion. We had one small design flaw with alignment and aestehtics by a side gate (because of how my fence was aligned), but they came back to fix it to ensure I was happy. We recently decided to replace our 40+ year old redwood deck and pergola with a paver patio. I got three bids that all had similar costs for the paver installation. I choose Mr. Pavers based on good reviews, and I had the most confidence in them after meeting with the various estimators. John, the estimator for Mr. Pavers, was very knowledgeable and clearly explained how the overall project would proceed. He was also very helpful in providing pictures and addresses for us to drive by so we could decide on the color and texture of the pavers. This really helped since there are so many options. While the estimates for the paver work were similar, the estimates for demolition of the deck and pergola varied widely. I ended up using a separate company, Left Coast Hauling, to do that work. I'm also giving them a five-star review. Mr. Pavers started their work two days after demo and took a total of only four days to complete the project. The co-owner, Nelson, came out the first morning before starting the project to review the scope and instruct the excavation crew. Nelson was very easy to work with. I appreciated his system of using a group text to make sure that if anything came up or I had questions they could quickly be addressed. This proved quite valuable. The Mr. Pavers work crews were efficient and very hard working. The excavation and base-rock fill crew completed their work in one day and did a good job of cleaning up afterward including power washing the sidewalk. The paver crew led by Diego was also hard working and I was very impressed with their attention to detail. As with any project, it is important to monitor work so if anything comes up you can address it before it is too late. We had a bit of a miscommunication on how wide the step from the house to the patio was supposed to be, but we quickly reconciled it via the group text. The finished product looks great (see photo)! Had a small project that other service providers doing pavers wouldn't take. Mr. Paver was glad to have the business. Several Travertine Pavers around the pool's skimmer basket had sunken and were allowing rain water to pool worsening the sinking of surrounding pavers. Phoned on Wednesday to set up an estimate on Thursday, work was scheduled for Friday 8am-10am. The estimator, Matt, who came Thursday afternoon, assured me there wasn't anything structural or serious going on. He said pavers around the skimmer basket tend to sink after pool construction (2017) in 3-4 years. He said I was lucky to have gotten almost 7 years with barely noticeable paver sinking. Matt noticed some other sunken pavers around the enclosing fence's gate and said his crew would take care of those as part of the job. The job was small enough to remain in Mr. Paver's very affordable minimum price quote. The crew of 2 arrived right at 8am on Friday (today) and got to work on removing the sunken pavers, preparing the ground under them, tamping the sand and clay material down to level it and placing the same pavers that were removed back in place. No breakage at all. Took about 2 hours for the entire job which included fixing some other sunken pavers around the pool enclosing fence's gate. Work site clean-up concluded the job ..... and no sand or other material got into the pool!!! Great local company with a focus on ethics, affordable pricing and quality work. read more

They did our driveway. We interviewed several similar companies, they were the least expensive. NOTE-all companies like this use the same design techniques and materials. All use foreign labor (I don't care that much about that, I don't run ICE). Our job came out nice, even though we had to change pavers at the last minute because Mr. Paver's didn't check availability on our selection until the old driveway was already torn out. So, over all the end result was ok. My only beef is that I was promised a 200 dollar referral fee for anyone I recommended. Had one almost immediately about a month ago. Absolutely love our backyard thanks to the work of Mr. Pavers! After buying our first home in the summer of 2021, we had budgeted one home improvement project for spring 2022 and decided it to be our backyard. To me, it's one of the most important areas of the home and I spend a lot of time back here. Our yard was a combination of loose rock and old cracked concrete slab that had very little usable space. It was time for an upgrade. Sandy was our sales rep/design consultant and from the very start I appreciated her straightforward but kind approach. As you can see they do a lot of business, so there was no hard sell. She educated us on pavers, the benefits, cost and what the job would entail. We went with them after getting two other estimates. They are very competitively priced and the contract laid everything out of precisely and a change order was written out and signed when we added some stairs to our job. We have a "difficult access" yard, meaning they had to haul everything in and out by hand. Even so, they did the whole job in 3 days (4 if you include paver deliver day). Day 1 was demo, day 2 pavers delivered, day 3 and 4 laid out pavers and clean up. What I appreciated about their crew was that they showed up on time, worked efficiently, did exactly what they said they'd do and were extremely skilled professionals. They do not subcontract the work out-the staff is all theirs. Once a day one of the owners would come by and check on the progress and then did a final inspection with us. They even demolished our cracked old concrete steps and hand built a new set, cutting and fitting pavers in to the design of them. When people saw the finished work, it was the stairs that got the most love. The work on them was absolutely incredible. Just a few tips: Talk to your neighbors ahead of the work being done-it does get loud. They do bring rather large trucks in on demo day. We live in a small cul-de-sac and it was a bit disruptive (but because we talked to our neighbors in advance, they were understanding.) They do bring a porta potty so plan for that. Finally, it did take a few days, post job completion, to remove the leftover materials and potty from our driveway. It's okay-I'm so happy with the yard, I forgot all about that. I've been enjoying my yard all spring and summer and have gotten a ton of compliments on it. Would highly recommend Mr. Pavers! read more

John even honored the price he quoted me about 6 months earlier, which I appreciated. John was very communicative both before and after the project started. Regarding his reply, again I am disappointed with his dishonesty but am not surprised. The company google reviews has many 1 star reviews as well as yelp, so I am not sure about 90% satisfaction rate when you have 3.7 star review. Mr Pavers is the first construction company I hired ever since I lived here and I am not sure about the 'previous' contractor warned him about me. Nice try to discredit my review in a dishonest way. Yes the pictures I posted are not all final products because I corrected his mistake and had him come over to fix. He had to send his guys many times because his workers would do very minimum work and brush off and hide other defects. And Glayston never inspected the work and demanded the money. Instead, he complained about coming out too many times. Don't you want to inspect your employees work before demanding the money? I wanted him to come out 1 time to fix it. Anything more than that, he should be apologizing for my time. As of today, he still hasn't addressed all the problems I've mentioned. I called him to fix it and he said it would come today, Monday 8/19/24, but he never showed up. So the problems still exist. I went on a vacation for 14 days in June because I was told the job would be done by May. My mother stayed behind during the 14 days and I told him to continue the work. He would rather work else where until I came back. "We could not work there" is a lie. Yes, swimming pool guy started working on my pool when Mr. Pavers was done with the demo. Swimming pool contractor spent 10 days to finish his work so Mr Pavers could resume his work. However, Mr. Pavers started filling dirt and soil concurrently before the pool guy finished the work. Mr Pavers broke water pipes, electric lines, 4 trees, all upright light fixtures, electric conduit, grill equipment and artificial turf he installed was damaged. These guys are reckless. " We rarely have a customer that expects the owner to be on site all the time" - Yes we do. I want a project manager to be on site to lead the workers. You don't have a project manager and you are never at the site with your workers. This is the root of the problem. "unfair projection of what our goal was with you and we stand on the fact that we gave you credits.." Glayston gave me credits. I didn't mention in the original review because it wouldn't be fair for him after I shook his hand but since he brought it up, here is what happened. He destroyed 4 of my trees by accident. He gave me $700. This is not any near what would cost to replace my trees. In fact, he couldn't find the same size trees, so he gave us money for little trees which will take 2-3 years to grow back to how it was. I could have asked to replace them apple to apple which would have cost him much more. He broke our Viking grill equipment, doors, side burners. They are top brand. I gave him a break and didn't ask for money but now I will ask for the damage. He broke low voltage light lines. He said he is not reliable anything buried under ground. He broke water pipes. He broke electric conduit. He fixed. He ruined my sliding doors because he sprayed polymeric sands everywhere. My screen doors got stuck. I vacuumed and asked him to vacuum once more. My doors are not smooth as before. I never asked for the damage. Dust is everywhere on my windows and doors and sliding rails. I asked him to power wash and he said no because he doesn't want to be reliable for paint peeling. He installed artificial turf in front yard and it was melted down right away before I saw the finish product. He claims it is my windows fault. Why wasn't I warned about it? He gave me credit for half of what it would cost to replace. Why did I settle with it? Because I told him he put in effort and I feel bad so we agreed to lose 50/50 each. He simply doesn't have experience on artificial turf. He broke my swimming pool remote receiver. Gave me $200, not enough to buy new. and so on. I wish he didn't bring up the credit he gave me. Mr Pavers is reckless. "We remain very proud of our quality and service" I have about 30 pavers lights installed. They were taped up on each connection and they are not water proof. No junction boxes, just wires hanging on the ground with electric tapes. and so on.. They charged me $250 for each light and charged me for a transformer, $600, they didn't install. "Quality", "Honesty" is not the right word for Mr. Pavers. read more

I am updating my review once again (from 3 stars to 4) now that the surplus pavers and pallets that were blocking one side of our driveway have been removed, but be aware that these materials may remain on your site for several days after your project has been 'completed'. In our case, there were 2 stacks of empty pallets and 2 partial pallets of pavers blocking more than half of our driveway for 4 days (including a weekend), and we had to consolidate stones from two pallets onto one and stack empty pallets into a single pile to make room for family members coming to visit. To give credit where it's due, I want to reiterate that the paving work itself was done quickly and well; we just hadn't expected to have to move stones and pallets ourselves to be able to use our driveway. read more

I was looking to replace our current concrete driveway, walkway with pavers. I contacted several contractors to obtain estimates. I was impressed with Cal who came by, talked about the process, made some suggestions and provided a written estimate with several quotes based on some options we were considering, including a diagram of the design. Every question I had was quickly responded to. Cal provided some jobs they had done to look at based on our preferences for the type of pavers and colors. We chose the pavers and color and signed the contract. They called with a start date and the owner, Grayson, came by and went through the job with me, pointing out how they would handle certain challenges and the timeline. The crew showed up and immediately started ripping up the concrete driveway. At the end of the day, they had have removed all the concrete and put down the base rock. Before they left, they cleaned up everything, including washing down the area. The next day they started putting down pavers, working very efficiently. By the end of the day they had finished putting down the pavers in the driveway and most of the walkway. Again, cleaned up before they left. They finished the job and it looks great. They crews were excellent and their job supervisor was a perfectionist. If you are looking to redo your driveway with pavers, I would highly recommend Mr. Pavers. read more

The work was originally scheduled for the end of January but because of the on-coming inclimate weather, they moved our job a week. They got the job done in 3 working days. The exceeded my expectations with getting the job done and how well it turned out. I will also note that I threw in a couple of change-orders once construction started and they were able to meet those needs and were still competitive in pricing to the others I spoke with. read more
