READ THIS FIRST IF YOU'RE HAVING ISSUES WITH FIBERSPHERE: From an insider, here's how it works at Goobersphere. If you've attempted all of the suggestions that they give you on the phone: 1. Don't expect them to call you back within 24-48 hours if they say they will. They have zero intention to. They never ever will. 2. If they say they will "escalate" it to someone at a higher position with more knowledge this is also a complete lie. They are trained to say that, but it means absolutely nothing. They all work in the same place with the same rank and knowledge. 3. If they tell you to call back within a few hours they are just pawning you off to the next person on the next shift. Again there is no other higher qualified folk there that can help. So what do you do after all of that nonsense? If you try all of the suggestions they have and they don't work, request for a technician. What he did only cost 25 bucks (cash, lol). If they refuse like they did with us a few times, then wait about 8 hours until the next shift and request it from the next employee. I hope this saves someone the countless hours we wasted the last month. Now this (below) was my review before learning the info above (although it was pretty obvious to begin with): This is my first time using Fibersphere. We're at almost three weeks and counting and still no internet. They have a handful of questions they ask us to try each time and then say "we will have someone call you within 24-48 hours" and they never do. We are in a endless cycle of spending about 45 minutes every day to fix this. We rely on internet daily for our jobs so this has been pretty not so convenient. No one ever of course uses Comcast or Centrilink nor Fibersphere because they actually want to. They use it because the options are limited. CEO's of internet provider companies should be in jail. How about instead of buying extra yachts you pay your employees better and train them so that they can actually fix things? No excuse for something like this to take three weeks... read more

Fibersphere is the internet service that my HOA provides, so I did not have a choice in selecting them as my ISP. I just had my internet repaired after 6.5 days of it not working. I called the first day and was informed it would be fixed within 24 hours. Called the second day, and I was put on hold for over an hour and then lost connection. Called back, and I was informed it would take up to 72 hours. Called after 72 hours, and I was informed I would receive a call from a technician that same day. No one called. I called again on Monday (day 5) and then I was informed they would dispatch a technician on day 6. I had to leave work early to make sure I could make the appointment. No one showed up, no one contacted me, I check the internet and it's fixed. Besides that horribly frustrating experience, the internet actually works fine for the most part, except when I lose lots of data packets occasionally. The customer support reps were very friendly. The problem is that it's impossible to get in touch with a technician with the authority/capabilities to repair the issue. read more

Fibersphere is our internet provider, mainly because it's bundled in HOA dues, so I pay for it regardless The service is pretty good, fast, but lags heavily in the evenings when everyone starts streaming. HOWEVER the service offers goes down, this one was the worst so far, 16 hours. Their technical support is completely worthless, except for generating aggravation. They're in India, so language issues occur. They treat you like you're stupid. No matter what the real problem is they always say that it's due to "maintenance". I was a network engineer, I have a pretty good idea of what is actually going on. Oh btw, their website is useless too. Nothing ever shows up on the outage map. Bottom line: only use if there's no other choice. I'm forced to pay for it, and can't afford another provider. read more

All networks can go down sometimes, can't blame an ISP for that. What really matters is how fast they get back online. This outage started last night, Fibersphere says techs have been on site since early morning trying to repair a broken server. It's now afternoon of the next day, still not fixed. The call center rep was way too cheerful when he told me "maybe it will be fixed in a few hours or maybe a few days, no guarantee sir." I didn't ask for a guarantee, I asked for an estimated time frame when it's likely to be fixed, so I can plan my pathetic internet dependent life accordingly. I mean, can I expect to be online by tomorrow, or will I need to go to Starbucks? With the exception of nuclear war, major earthquake, or zombie apocalypse, it should not take 2 days to repair a localized hardware issue. That's no bueno. The ISP needs to fix problems quickly. 2 days is too long. I would give them a pass if they said zombies are hiding near the server box, techs are too scared to get close. Or the AI software was so good that a server self-realized and went rogue. Or they had to order parts on Amazon, will take 2 days even with Prime. These are good reasons why it might take 2 days to fix the problem. Otherwise, there's no good excuse why a localized hardware issue takes so long to repair. Actually, if this goes to 3 days, I think we need to lobby our HOA to change the ISP. read more

Yikes! I live within 10 miles of their HQ. Their customer support is ridiculously bad. The website says "Need Our help? Our technical support team is available 24/7 at 503-681-8755." You call and they basically take a message for the tech team to call you back the next day. WTF? I ask the guy for his manager and of course there is no manager working. What is going on here? They get one star because the service does go fast, but try to configure it without help - be prepared to dig into your router, have your machines have issues on the same IP address and eventually probably buying a new router (haven't done that yet as I'll probably kill the contract before the 3 business days are up). read more

This ISP is plagued with outages. The neighborhood suffered a six day outage back in December of 2021 and yesterday I was hit with another full-day outage. These are combined with unexplained 10 - 15 minutes outages that happen almost weekly. They are the provider for my neighborhood as part of the HOA fees and they are absolutely terrible! I am near to the point of going to another provider and paying out of pocket for it. If I could give them zero star rating I most certainly would have. read more

Just called them to talk about service and if they had a local office and the customer service was terrible. My problem with most of these customer support agents is they don't fully understand the question. So they find one answer that works for them and they just repeat it over and over. It's pretty frustrating. As someone that loathes comcast and is willing to change and even move to a new home that offers a competitor I find it frustrating that they are operating at the same mental level as comcast. I'm just going to avoid ever having to talk to them again just because I couldn't get the information I was looking for. As a resident of Lincoln CA and member of the HOA since our home was built, in all those years the previous company Never had problems like this and Never treated customers as Shitty as fibersphere. I'm in complete agreement with all the other horrible reviews posted recently from my area. Plain and simple, fibersphere is garbage. They deserve far less than 1 star. I was told yesterday that they were replacing all customer modems and scheduled mine to be done today between 12 and 2pm. I'm here waiting for these idiots and literally just got a phone call from Oregon telling me they had to reschedule another day!! I could not believe they actually called me halfway into my appointment to tell me they were going to come another day.!! Like I've seen in previous posts, I also have contacted HOA requesting they immediately start looking for a new service provider. I would encourage others to do the same. read more

Fibersphere took over as our HOA ISP provider a couple months ago and we have had two outages thus far with very bad communication on top of it in my opinion. With working from home, this just isn't acceptable! Previous provider had one outage in a year since we moved here and it wasn't their fault - construction crew cut line by accident, so why the issues? And now we get to experience what it's like to live in Canada while browsing the internet = BAD EXPERIENCE altogether! If you don't have US IPs, because you didn't buy enough when they were available, don't take on more US business! If this is temporary COMMUNICATE this and if it's what we have to look forward to, I hope your contract isn't too long and we can vote for a new provider! Update: they have now communicated the issue and as much as I am thankful for their effort I still feel there was a lack of urgency to communicate with their customers the current issues we were all experiencing. An email from the CEO only mentioned the downtime and not the ongoing issue of having a Canadian IP address. As much as an attack is very hurtful to a business, communicating can always help alleviate uncertainty's. Being proactive in all measures instead of reactive goes a long way. Update Feb 4: There has been another major outage that has affected many residents, but not all. As I am not one to be affected I am posting for those that have. From what I've read and heard homes have been out of service completely for multiple days- totally unacceptable!!!!! They are saying replacement parts are needed and appointments are to be made for each home affected, yet missed appointments with no communication are happening, delayed appointments are occurring and crazy enough do-it-yourself options are being mentioned directly from a rep asking people to pick equipment up at clubhouse. Even once residents install new equipment it still doesn't work! As a reminder, this is a new company that bought out our previous HOA provider and there was nothing wrong with our internet, at least for the year that I lived here. Yet they keep saying the outages are due to having old routers, etc that we're apart of previous company. It's crystal clear that if it's not broke don't fix it or if you decide to upgrade equipment make sure you know what you are doing and don't make excuses for your own due faults. Edit 4 (6/7/18): It has been about a week now with Fibersphere and the new modem. There have been no disconnections and everything is running really well. Speeds have been consistently 100mbps on ethernet and ~90mbps WiFi. Edit3: Trey came out to our home between the scheduled hours of 10AM-2PM. He quickly switched out our modem and stayed with me until the connection was up and running. So far so good. I have been with this company for 1 year. My router died. I bought a new router and needed to get it set up in their system. When I say set up I mean we needed to get the MAC address of the new router registered with Fibersphere. I get an IP address from them but no internet access. We get to the activation screen and for some reason they can't send me a new activation code. Instead they want me to wait until Monday to send a technician to my appt. FOR AN ACTIVATION CODE PROBLEM. When I said I wanted to cancel my service the service rep on the other side sounded happy. AVOID THIS CVOMPANY AT ALL COST. Initially my review for this company is 3 stars which is OK considering they are a small company competing against the big giants. I always want to give small company a chance in fact I prefer them. However, being a small company doesn't mean you can operate LESS nor do you need to have excuses "just because" you are a smaller company. You actually should offer more and be more than your competitors. I switched from Xfinity because upon renewal they raised my rate so high that I quite cable, started to use ROKU and chose Fibersphere just for internet. The service is just ok, this company is based in PDX so if you know in general what service is like in Portland, you will understand that being "laid back" is pretty much the norm. You can interpret laid back in many different ways, good or bad. Recently it seems that they outsourced technical support to offshore. The big companies are using offshore resources as well but there are different service quality you get from offshore resources. Fibersphere needs to find better options. Why 2 stars? They also service our building's lounge area where I work every day. One of the criteria I look for in an apartment are these common spaces with internet since I work virtual. The internet has been down for almost a month. The building manager has followed up on them almost every day. In this day and age, I find this UNacceptable. read more

TLDR-- Strongly recommend avoiding this company. - When it works, it works well. - Customer service is terrible and does not value their customers time. You have to pray that they will actually call you back or send you an invoice just so you can pay your bill on time. - There is no website or app. Everything is done by phone. - Company makes it difficult to pay your bills on time and tacks on late fees. Internet quality/cost: The cost is alright and the internet speeds are good. Symmetric upload and download is good. Have never experienced any throttling over the almost-2-years I was with them. The quality of internet is good, I have experienced some small outages here and there, but every ISP will have these problems. Customer service: Terrible. They don't send timely invoices and then charge late fees. I have to send several emails and call the company several times a month just to pay my bill. Each time I am insured by the agent that auto-payments are setup. There is no web-portal for you to pay bills, so you cannot even take care of this on your own. You are at their mercy and have to pray to the deity of your choosing to receive an invoice so you can pay your bill on time. They never reply to emails in a timely manner (weeks-months) and chose to do everything by phone so there is no paper trail of previous communications. When you do talk to them on the phone, the agents have no power to do anything and you are at their mercy hoping they will actually call you back. I've tried contesting the late charges, but they refuse to acknowledge it is a fault on their end and, since everything is done by phone, there is no paper trail to prove it. Edit: Technician did not show up at all. Took a day off from work to be at home to get an internet problem sorted out. Problem was resolved on its own without the technician later that week but this was probably unrelated. read more

I would give Minus 5 stars if I could. Fibersphere internet went offline, and I called first thing in morning. There is no way for the rep to actually schedule a service call! I am told "someone" will call me in next "24 to 48 hours" to maybe schedule service. Ludicrous. There is no supervisor to talk to, either. Nobody calls that day or next day. I call again and demand to speak to supervisor. Again, I am told there is no such person to speak to. The rep will do me a favor and place a priority request, and "supervisor" will call me within the next hour. No one calls and now it's next day without a call. It's been 3 days without any internet service, and I still have no idea when someone will call in order to schedule a service call, which will be how long from now??!!! It seems like Fibersphere gets contracts with HOA's, and this is why I am stuck with them just like most people on Yelp. AVOID Fibersphere at ALL costs if possible. read more

I have been having a nightmare of a time as a new customer WHO HAS NOT EVEN MOVED INTO THE APARTMENT THAT FIBERSPHERE IS SERVING. On June 9th, I talked to Victor on the phone. He was very helpful and friendly. He assured me that my billing and service would not start until my move in date at my new apartment on June 26th. However, once I opened the emails he sent and set up the basic billing info as instructed, I noticed that the billing was starting on June 9th, two weeks before I even get the keys to the address and exactly what I had been assured wouldn't happen. I called back later that day and talked to Ashley. She was also friendly, saw the issue I was talking about and said she would put in a note for someone to change the billing start date to June 26th. She said I would see this reflected on my account within an hour. I checked again a few hours later and nothing had changed. I called back, and Ashley said to give it 24 hours. I waited again. Then when I saw it STILL hadn't changed on Monday, June 15th I called for a FOURTH time, and got someone new (I didn't catch her name). This person said my account was showing a past due charge. This person said she put in some sort of billing change order and that I could expect a call from a manager within 24-48 hours. It has now been another two full days and this issue has not been solved. I have not received any call as promised. All I want is for my billing start date to be adjusted to the correct start date, because there is no reason for me to be paying for two extra weeks when I do not live at the billed address. I don't know what the heck is going on at this company. How is this possible in 2020? How can someone make me WISH I had Comcast???As a new customer who has never worked with Fibersphere this has been extremely frustrating and does not instill any faith in the company. read more

They seem over their head in their attempt to service our community and while they scramble to keep things afloat their communication with the community is non-existent. Very unreliable - constant downtime - an ISP should be up 99.9% of the time, but it is more like 70-80%, which impacts my working from home. I had to get a 2nd ISP just to ensure that I have quality connection. Fibersphere also promises 100/100, and I am getting below 20/20 constantly. I would not recommend this ISP. These guys are the most corrupt company I have ever dealt with. After turning my service off after 1 missed payment they continued to fraudulently charge me for service for 7 more months. Even after I had already signed up and received service from an alternate internet company ( for which I provided proof) they continued to harass me and sold my debt to a collection agency which was fraudulently reported and marked on my credit report as 8 missed payments. I am disputing this company continuously and was informed by my lawyer recently that I should file a police report. Beware, the staff is incompetent and just when you think you are making headway, they will sell your debt . This company is a scam. read more

Fibresphere has been a wonderful change for internet. On fiber the upload speeds are incredibly fast. Tech support has been great too. Figured when I put in an Apple product for wireless that it might be a little more difficult to get to work with the Fibresphere service. Had to call a couple of times but they walked me through the setup and haven't had a hiccup in years. That is how reliable they have been. With Comcast there are always service outages tied to PGE or plant balancing going on at random times, not to mention their ridiculously priced services. Am glad to see a new choice and a much better choice for people who need fast reliable internet. Look forward to seeing them coming into a neighborhood near you! Keep up the stellar product! Fibersphere has horrible reliability with seemingly weekly outages. Additionally when services are available the speeds are around 15% of the advertised speeds. Tech support is also a nightmare, often taking hours to address issues. read more

Fibersphere's rep Sam Sanders has been so great to work with. He was part of the installation in our building and handles setting up our residents with their internet. Being a 55 and older community, sometimes our residents need some additional care and explanation on the benefit of Fibersphere over other competitors, and he has taken that on no problem. Anytime we need anything, he's there! Fast speeds, great service. My one request would be to have Fibersphere in my house!! Thanks for all you do. read more

Fibresphere recently took over our Lincoln CA Crossing HOA ISP, and it has been the worst experience ever... As some reviews here mentioned, since switching, we have experienced a number of daylong outages with no ETAs. In addition, it appears they don't have enough allocated US West IP addresses... First, we were given a Canadian IP address and that broke a bunch of streaming services like Pandora, Netflix, etc that limit service to within the US. Then, we were given a New Jersey IP address that disrupted Amazon Prime video service. Not sure what IP we will get now after this outage--I am writing this review over my 4g tether connection! I am in the IT field, and we do provide services to customers. So, I understand technical issues do happen, but if we violated SLAs this badly, we would have been fired a long time ago.... ------- Update: This is an update after the outage described above. After 1 full day without Internet, we were finally told that the Fiber modems in our house were too old and needed to be replaced. Great! So, I scheduled for them to come out to my house the next day between 2-4PM, and I took some time off work in the afternoon to wait for them. 4PM rolled by... no-one. I called up Fibersphere and was told that, due to bad weather, they could not ship the modems in time. I find it hard to believe that a little rain delayed the shipment, but at least, aren't your customers worthy of some communication especially if you are not going to make an appointment? I told that to their representative, and he (I will not name names here) told me that they have no obligation to keep their appointment. Go figure! Long story short, I drove to my HOA on that same day to find a bunch of people there in the same boat as I was--none of them got any notification of the missed appointments. But, the kicker is... I saw a bunch of new modems at the HOA! Being an IT guy, I told the Fibersphere tech to just give me the modem, and I install it myself. He agreed, but told me that even if I installed it myself that day, I would not get Internet, because their servers were still down. Now, that makes more sense, and at least the guy was telling the truth. Another full day, and I finally got my Internet, and with an IP address in Los Angeles! It has been a week since we had the Internet, and it has been on and off, and super slow (1-2Mb/s download). Of course, when it is not working, there is no communication whatsoever (an email would go a long way). When it is on, the download speed is double of what we used to have. Just wish it stay on more consistently... What happened to SLAs, reliability and redundant/HA systems? And, oh yeah, customer service. ------- Update #2: I have waited a few more days before this final update (hopefully)... A chief network architect from Fibresphere finally reached out to me and confirmed the issue on their backend. Once the problem was confirmed, we spent a few minutes together troubleshooting (OK, I played more of a QA role in this instance :) ), and I got full bandwidth within the matter of minutes. It has been over a week since the troubleshoot and it appears that we are holding steady-- ~70Mb/s download and same for upload. I thank that network architect for doing the right thing and reaching out to customers and taking on the problem heads-on. This is what I do at my workplace too, because that is the only way things can get done. I have updated the rating to reflect the quality of the service. Had we got better customer service (or lack thereof), it would have been a stellar ISP experience. read more

Couple days ago, Fibersphere took over our community in Fullerton CA as our ISP provider. I checked my IP address. I found that we are now located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada!! I checked my download speed. It is less than 7Mbps. What kind of service this is?! My phone is at least 2 times faster than this. read more

System has been down for more than 17 hours and they have not sent any notice or information out to their customers. The website simply says it's down and they are working on it. Calls to customer (non)service are a long wait on hold. A communications company should do a much better job of communicating with their customers! This is the worst internet provider ever. I would go back to dial up. Three months can't get my router connected. Finally figured out a work around with hot spot from laptop that is hard wired to ether net. That worked for you for one day then they screwed that up. During the covid pandemic, a lot of people are using the internet all the time, but it is so often when the internet is not working. If I do not pay for a homeowners association fee for the internet, I would definitely go with different internet service for sure. read more

FIbersphere took over our fantastic Greenfield Communications service, and now, even though I live in California, my I.P. address is showing me in Canada. So now I can't stream half of the channels that I actually pay for. I am typing this as I sit on hold for an "approximately 14 minute wait." I don't hold out much hope that this will be resolved. I'm also stuck because, like others, I pay for my internet through the HOA, so I'm stuck paying for this service whether I use it or not. read more

Update: A very sweet man named Sam Sanders gave me a call this evening and explained the reason for our outage and answered all of my questions about the IP address issue. I won't go into detail of what they told me exactly out of respect, but I am thankful he gave me the courtesy of calling to let me know and ease my concerns in a friendly manner. Sam, if you're seeing this, get new daytime techs guys, okay? Those guys are rude as hell. I'd give them zero if I could, and I usually don't give negative reviews. However, this is my experience. I live in a community with an HOA, and our internet is included. About a month ago we were switched from Greenfield to Fibersphere. We recently had a major outage, and once the internet came back, all of my websites were routed through Canada. Most services aren't available there, like Pandora, which I stream it home. The next workday (which was today, a Monday) I called them to find out what was going on. I followed their prerecorded prompts for my area and since they are my ISP, opted to speak with the tech. However, when I spoke to him they had no information on file, which I gave them my name and home address. I explained to him that I followed the prompts like I was told, only for the tech to tell me with disdain, "we're working on it." I tried to be pleasant, asking him if there was some sort of ETA, only to get more disdain and a "I said we're working on it." I still stayed peasant, and when the conversation was over, I was in the process of thanking him for his time, yet couldn't get it out because he'd hung up on me. This was the worst customer service I've gotten since Verizon told me I couldn't cancel my service. I wish we could go back to Greenfield, they had awesome customer service. read more
