Cute, quick breakfast spot in Civic Center! The shopping center is walkable and clean, as is the storefront itself. The fresh-squeezed orange pineapple juice was so good, definitely want to try the other flavors! The chocolate eclair was also delicious. The capresse sandwich was the star of the show. It was delicious, fresh tomatoes, bread was toasty and delicious (also happy it was on a baguette), and I really enjoyed the pesto. I've been on a pilgrimage to find the best tasting, as authentic as possible, French baguette. After trying quite a few places over the last 5 days, I found the place. Ficelle (which means "rope" in French) Bakery has the best authentic French baguette in Miami. I also tried their sourdough bread, which was so so so delicious. In addition, I had the Tunisian sandwich which is tuna sandwich with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, olives and spicy sauce in a baguette (instead of croissant). It was so delicious. I have been going to Ficelle Bakery on a near weekly basis for almost a full year and it has become my favorite bakery-coffee shop in Miami by far. The bakery items, sandwiches and coffees are great, the ambience is great with a great mix of customers and the wait staff is super attentive. I had the Tunisian sandwich and my friend had the breakfast sandwich. We shared it and they were both delicious and fresh. I also had one of their raspberry white chocolate mousses and I need to go back for more. The service was fast, waited less than 10 minutes for food and less than 5 for coffee. I have been coming to Ficelle bakery since it opened and today I went with my spouse. The service is wonderful. However, the sandwiches have increased in price and the ingredients have slimmed back. I ordered a l'taliano and was quite disappointed. The sandwich had one very thin slice of prosciutto and two thin slices of tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. Wowowowowow. What didnt I get here?! Ok a low key banger is the eclair! The chocolate is so rich, the custard is delicious and it's the perfect size. Almond croissant was incredible too and so filling. Key lime tart, amazing! And i don't even like key lime! Their chocolate mousse, I couldn't get enough of! The savory croissants are a must! The caprese one and the turkey and cheese, the perfect salty treat to balance out the meal. Only thing that was just ok was the creme brulee, didn't see the real vanilla pods in there but still good! I stop by here just about every week whether I'm picking up some fresh sourdough or simply having lunch. This French bakery is churning out fresh baked breads every single day and I can't get enough of it. They also have a lot of French pastries and seem to have something new every week. Last week, they asked me to sample a turmeric, curry bread that was really good. I've tried their pumpkin muffin which was excellent. I'd highly recommend their cinnamon raisin danish or their chocolate passionfruit mousse. They also serve sandwiches which are made with their fresh baked breads which absolutely delish. If you buy a loaf of sourdough, it might last just 3 days, but you can store it in the freezer for much longer periods and then just toast it as needed. Ficelle Bakery is one of those gems that need some recognition because they serve real food. Not one of the those chains with a lot of artificial ingredients in their foods. 4 stars for the cappuccino. Sooo good! They don't add sugar so it's very customizable. I don't like overly sweet coffee. That being said the croissant was definitely not the best I've had. It was crunchy all throughout. There was no fluffy inside. I got a ham and cheese croissant and everything was only in the middle so every bite was uneven (unless you have a v wide mouth ig?) One the best ALMOND croissants in the world !! And I have tried a lot of croissants. The only other spot so far Miami I like for almond croissants is Maison Valentine in south beach. Their SWEET LOVERS Nutella croissant & Creme Brûlée is delicious too. I love their baguettes sandwiches have tried CAPRESE, L'ITALIANO, and LE PARISEN. I think they're all great but this is a personal preference as I like pesto so caprese won me over. I like to add prosciutto or salami. I then go home and use alessi's balsamic reduction and drizzle it all over for the perfect sweet aftertaste. It's the perfect touch. I am obsessed with this place I only wish they made individual macarons to sell. Preferably Oreo or vanilla/almond. I hope the manager or chef sees this!! Stopped by here for lunch today. Their sandwiches are very French: small, almost dainty, but tasty. But what blew us away was the bread: it was divine! Perfect shell of a crust, then tender on the inside. Perfect for a sandwich too: you can bite thru without all the insides comin out. In contrast to my prior review and rating, I am leaving a comment for management to be abreast of my incident. Doubt the employee would take the initiative to explain the situation to a manager for feedback. I ordered a salad and noticed before leaving that it was not tossed. I walked back to the cashier who had processed the order and asked that she give it to the kitchen for them to please toss. She asked me back what I meant, thought maybe she misheard so I repeated. She then both innocently yet also attitudinally asked again what I mean. Surprised yet understanding of her explanation this is not a salad spot so no tools for tossing, this is how it comes. She then says well what do you want? You just want me to shake it up for you? I did not appreciate her tone, her body language and in asking the question as such essentially the only option leave not satisfied. I am not going to be dismissed as a customer when I just spent $30. At this point, the other co-employee is fully engaged in our exchange and not even continuing her own follow up with that customer; she along with her customer is now spectating this minor spectacle. I say it to her one more time and explain it and this is where the irritation really came in. Again her body language in shrugging her shoulders, waving her hand and her eyes enlarging asking me 'just want it tossed' crossed a veiled line of sarcastic. If it's something you don't do ok, but to be patronized was inappropriate. I understand that businesses have to hire the workers that they can. However, if people are engaging with the public they still need to be trained and be accountable. No one is required to spend money somewhere where they are not going to be treated professionally nor provided proper service not to mention respect over attitude. I enjoy this place and hope to not encounter such disposition again. read more

A little taste of France to what is a wonderful addition 1 year and counting to the shops at River Landing. Absolutely wonderful pastries and bread made fresh daily! As soon as you walk in, you get the aroma of the fresh bread. Mmmmm! I love the smell of fresh bread! If that isn't enough to get your mouth watering, you can peruse the selection of pastries in the glass display cases. They have all of the usual, suspects, like blueberry muffins or a chocolate croissant, but, if you look carefully, you may find a treat that is unique to Miami. We found a guava biscotti that was ooooooooohhhhh soooooooo goooooood! I could eat like ten of them. We enjoyed it with a couple of nicely brewed coffees at the coffee bar. Mmmmm. Yesterday was my first time visiting this bakery. I wanted to try way more than I ordered but decided to keep it simple and start with something familiar. Although I bought a few items to share, I only had the almond croissant for myself. Compared to others I've had in the past, Ficelle's almond croissant is the best one I've ever experienced. Drove 40 minutes to try the French baguette everyone is talking about, for me, just ok. We ordered one of each of the 3 different baguettes they offer. I asked what the difference was and was told they're all the same except for the shape. We also ordered a guava croissant, a chocolate croissant, and two plain croissants. The plain ones were, again, ok. The guava was basically a plain croissant with a chunk of guava inside, same with the chocolate, except obviously chocolate inside. Again, just ok.
