The chocolate gelato was really good. The texture was smooth and creamy while the vanilla gelato had specks of vanilla bean in it but you could tell it had melted and was refrozen. It has ice particles in it, which gave it a grainy texture. My mint tea arrived in a fancy glass and tasted really good! Would we return? The building was built in the 1800s. A lot of the original hardwood is still there. Each room is beautifully decorated with a mix of antiques and modern art. My favorite room is the "Crystal Room" for dining. The chandeliers are breathtaking, especially when the sunlight from the window hits them. The general manager, Archie, could not possibly be nicer. He is so friendly and truly happy to see returning patrons. He is always willing to give a brief, but informative, tour of the building to our guests. He knows everything there is to know about the history of the club. The Club has several member events each year. My favorites are Lobster Night, Pasta Night, and the Wine Festival event. The food is always made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The wine and desserts are also phenomenal! Finally, the service is flawless. The servers are polite and personable. I would definitely recommend this club to anybody looking to join a professional, but down to earth country club.
