Fantastic food!! All of it. Had the Cuban sandwich on a home made roll baked today. Best I ever had. And a great craft draft and bottle beer selection.

Wow! What a hidden gem! I have lived in the area majority of my life and have never been here, but…read moream glad I have now. This is such a great experience for students at the culinary school, I love that they have this ability to work here. The hostess, servers, and food is all PHENOMENAL. I do believe the menu changes seasonally/semesterly, so I will have to come back to try a new menu! You pay a flat fee of $40 for bread that is baked at the schools bakery, an appetizer of your choosing, an entree of your choosing, and also a dessert. This time I had some sort of sausage ball for my app, steak frites which was a special for my entree, and the chocolate raspberry tart. I would get everything again. The server even asked if we were celebrating anything special, and we just said that I was back in town and they wrote Welcome Home on my dessert plate! Such a special touch that will stick with me.

Ordered a salad, roasted chicken and the pana cotta for dessert. We left still hungry. All the portions were extremely small. They also did not ask about allergies, which I thought was SO important especially since they are a school. The salad was good, but about the size of a fist. The chicken was really tender and moist, plated well, but only a small thigh/wing with a few cubed cucumbers and tomatoes under. The pana cotta was 2-3 bites, was served on a cookie the size of an Oreo cookie. For $40 per person, it is overpriced and not worth it.

We went after six so finding parking was not an issue. The location is cute and very Instagram-able. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entry and decided on the patio which has ample space to spread out and enjoy. Our waiter was nice and friendly. Once he took our order and brought our food, he all but vanished. No check to see if our food/beverages were okay or if we needed anything...I asked the other waitress for a straw and she brought it with no napkin but just her bare hand! It was a paper straw so I just raw dogged it. Oh well, I was using the cutlery‍. The food...the menu said smash burger...I got a standard burger with barely a handful of fries. IF I AM PAYING TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS FOR A CHEESEBURGER I WANT FRESH BEEF AND A TON OF FRIES! I absolutely ate all of the food because I refused to waste my money on mediocrity. My beer flight was decent. We wanted to settle the bill but of course my waiter was no where to be found so we had to go inside to the bar to find him. Here's where it became uncomfortable for me, the tip. I really felt his service was nonexistent and wanted to tip him just $5 but the fact he was RIGHT in my face with the POS system it was weird. I don't ever want to patronize this establishment again. I won't, I refuse to.

After three wineries, my husband was definitely ready for some food. When you walk in, you definitely feel like you're entering an English pub! The bar, and place, ent of the bar was very traditional to pubs in the UK. Our server Lawerence definitely helped with his English accent! When asked where he was from, he said Bristol! He came to Canada after her sister relocated. He originally was a cook, but given his accent, they asked hi. To move to the front! Well done. He was a great server too! Very friendly! We decided to share the sausage rolls and shepherds pie. My husband had two Guinness! I'm not sure where he put it in top of the wine, but glad I was driving. The sausage rolls were very tasty. The mustard that came for dipping was the perfect accompaniment. The shepherd's pie had a dark Guinness gravy that was rich and flavorful. I enjoyed the side of peas and carrots too! Sharing these two was the perfect amount, however we wished we'd got the poutine! It looked amazing, it would've been too much food though. Guess we will need to return! PS: loved seeing the sign for Upper Canada Brewing company! In 1988, I visited them with my college partner as we did a college paper on microbrewers! At that time, they were one of a few. We also had visited Great Lakes brewing in CLE! The microbrewing industry exploded shortly there after! Was a great personal walk down memory lane for my college days!! While Upper Canada was sold, was just excellent to see an old sign!
