Unhappy old guy that is in his 80th year and totally confused by all the technology of this Fidium Fiber scam. 1. Internet did work initially but slowed down shortly after install. It never worked with my smart home leaving me with no heat during the cold months. The installer knew nothing about how to make Fiduim integrate my smart home. 2. Installer could not enable Fidium system to work or support my smart home devices 3. Repeated attempts to get someone on the phone to help failed due to very long wait times or what seemed like deliberate hang ups on my call 4. Robot message did not tell me possible wait time for talking with human. At one point I was on Fidium hold for more than. 45 minutes. My Impression: This company is making service claims that my experience does not see in attitude or commitment to good customer satisfaction. As far as i'm concerned they can travel to my home and take their equipment back. I have not found a location or office where I can either drop off the modem or talk to a technician. Fidium will respond to this with a request to e-mail social@fidium.com. Please know that is a canned response from their team. I e-mailed that address twice, and no one ever responded. This is the worst company you'll ever do business with inside and outside of the ISP space. They are uniquely horrible in a class of their own. My experience with Fidium was deeply frustrating. It started with a botched installation and ended with a nightmare return process. The installation took about 6 hours across two days. I was very clear with both technicians on how to ensure that the whole house got coverage from where to bring the line in to where to install the modem and router. Both technicians ignored my clear instructions. Instead, they installed the router in the far corner of my home--nowhere near my office--resulting in speeds that were 8% to 15% of those advertised (150-300Mb/s instead of the 2Gb/s I paid for) and a dead zone on the opposite corner. As a result, I canceled the service the day after installation was finished noting that I could stick with cable service. The quality of install was also subpar. The technician did not use a gang box inside the wall on the interior of the house and screwed the wall plate directly into drywall. He didn't leave a service loop in the wall and had pulled the fiber taught from the outside. He actually recommended running a visible line inside the house at one point during the installation. Technician was clearly not properly trained. I received several calls from "corporate" after the incident. Employees on Fidium's side claimed to want to make things right and keep me as a customer. I let them know that the opportunity to keep me passed when their technicians ignored me twice during the multi-hour installation process. A couple of weeks later, Fidium sent me a letter demanding I return all equipment in the original box (see screenshot) and threatened a $100 charge if equipment was not returned within 30 days. However, the box left by the technician wasn't large enough for the modem and extenders. It was only large enough for the router. Fidium likes to happily proclaim that you can use any box, and they do not understand that -- for the consumer -- that translates to "get your own box". When I chose not to buy my own box for the return, I received a $376.02 charge on the account (see screenshot). That's quite a bit different from the $100 threat in their letter (see screenshot). Prepared to pay the amount and then follow up with a lawsuit to recover damages, I was required by my lawyer to give the company an opportunity to revoke the charge before moving forward with the lawsuit. When the company was threatened with legal action, Fidium finally agreed to pay for the box that I would need to return the equipment. I'm pretty sure this company pays for fake reviews. There appear to be suspicious 5-star reviews boosting Fidium's ratings online (see attached screenshot of a funny but real 5-star review that Fidium received showing slow transfer speeds). If you want to know what a good broadband company looks like in terms of reviews, look up Ezee Fiber. That's what good reviews look like when they're real. Was planning on making it my primary and keeping my old service as a backup but the network would drop every once in a while.. which normally wouldn't be an issue but in this case it boots me from my server, and requires me to restart the software. They couldn't tell what was going on because I was using my own router, after a week of this, I decided to stay with my old provider. When it was up, the speed was decent and it seemed to work like it should. The prices are similar to what everyone else is charging. I became a Fidium customer in Dec 2024 and it has not been a good experience. Initially, I had poor network performance compared to what was promised. I signed up for their 2 GB plan, but wasn't seeing anything close to that. In late December, a tech came out, found out that the installation was set up wrong, made some changes from his truck and after that the performance was much better. Unbeknownst to me, I was assessed a $99 trip charge for the visit which NOBODY told me about! So when I looked at my next bill a few days after the tech visit, it was $112 more than what it should have been. I called and found out that a trip charge had been applied to my account. After some firm objections, the charge was rescinded. But it left a bad taste in my mouth about their inadequate customer service. I should have been clearly told there was going to be a trip charge. On Friday, Jan 31st, 2025, there was an all day outage. I work from home so not having the net all day affected my bottom line. When I called in to report the outage that morning, I was told that I would receive an email or text message when the problem was fixed. However, I called them Friday night complaining that it was taking too long only to find out the issue had been fixed. The tech said "I see that the outage has been resolved. Please reboot your modem and cable box". After doing that, the internet was restored, but it was completely unacceptable that I had to call in to find out! How long had it been resolved? If I had received the email or text I was promised, I could have perhaps worked some that day. The straw that broke the camel's back was last Tuesday, Feb 4th. There was ANOTHER major outage! The reviews I saw about Fidium before I agreed to sign up with them was that the performance and service was really good. Customer service was the part that was concerning. However, the service outages were even worse than the shoddy customer service! Two major, hours-long outages in 4 days is unacceptable. So I immediately canceled my plan. I understand that every blue moon, service is going to be interrupted with any ISP. But two major outages in 4 days, coupled with subpar customer service, is more than I can take and why I am no longer a Fidium customer after signing up just 2.5 months ago. I'm beyond frustrated. My internet drops at least 10 times a day, making it nearly impossible to work from home. I've called support over 10 times in 3 weeks, had 8 technicians visit--and nothing is fixed. Every time I escalate, I'm told "We'll send a technician." Had Fidium about a month ago. First they cut my sprinkler line. Then the service goes out all the time!

We've had a very poor experience with Fidium. After having so many issues with Xfinity, we wanted to change providers for better reliability. Fidium's customer service has been great, however; the issues began quickly after install. 1. Technician cut through our sprinkler line and attempted to repair it. It didn't correct the issue so I had to pay to fix it with a competent person. 2. Outages - after the first three days, we had no internet for another week. We've then had multi-day outages every 2-3 weeks for the past six months. 3. Equipment - After a month, the modem they provided needed replaced. 4. Timeliness - The techs are continuously HOURS late outside of the scheduled window when coming to troubleshoot or need access to the house. 5. Reliability - Because the reliability is so poor, we are continuing to pay for both Xfinity and Fidium, and we just run two routers. Since we both work from home, we need consistent signal. Our community is in a monopoly unfortunately, so we don't have many options. I'm hoping that Starlink will improve service to just cut all the cords and get good service. read more

Be warned- it's worse than AT&T. Lufkin TX - Fidium Fiber was installed and after two weeks totally stopped working. They send out tech worker after 3 days only to discover that the installers working 3 blocks over unplugged my line from the box and never plugged it back in. One week later suddenly I could no longer access my employer web site. It was blocked by the router's firewall, which I could not change. I called tech and got a ticket number, but they never fixed it. Finally had to purchas a new router from Office Depot and that solved the problem. Well, I'm a very new user but the technology so far seems to be working well. Improved speeds and no real issues so far. A friend of mine in the area has had FIDIUM for several months and was very positive so I replaced X-Finity 1200 with 2GB FIDIUM for what will be about $35 less. That's the good news. Their customer interfacing personnel are well below par. When ordering, I made a first call to gather some information and that went well. Decided to move forward and got the know nothing rep. from hell. Taxes in the price --- well yes but never got a definitive amount. Since we have a land line for a couple of specific needs, investigated that. Have 3 handsets. Assured me that they were the same as X-Finity for a little less and yes they had the International calling in the fee. Well, the information we were sent indicated the International was disabled. Called. Told that once installed just call back and get it activated. Just love having to go through a system again for an issue which they caused. Did that but then learned that oh BTW, there is no charge for International connection but they do have a fee per call. Well, how deceptive is this. In addition, when the installer came to set up, can only have 2 handsets and all sorts of "issues" with installing what we wanted/had. Noted that the main need was the phone in the office and secondarily in the family room. Bedroom we didn't really care. Well, I'm looking for the guy---he went to his car and was writing up paperwork and preparing to leave. Oh, hell no. He at first told me that it wasn't possible. I called him on it and he finally returned to the office and was able to install using a splitter (which we already had) and moving our security camera base. Here's what I think was the real issue here. He estimated 2 hrs. and it took a bit over 3. Kept getting calls and based on what I could hear, his supervisor was trying to get him to move onto the next appt. Well, what a great guy --- he hadn't finished the job, had moved out (with my help - wife and I are in out 70's) a desk, a media center and an entertainment center - WHICH HE WAS JUST GOING TO LEAVE FOR US TO DEAL WITH! In any case. I did get him with me help to move the entertainment center. He did move the desk himself but in his rush, twice knocked over the Tower Computer under the desk. After that, I had him leave and my spouse and I moved the media center ourselves. Honestly, I think the tech was OK but his jerk supervisor who obviously has no concept of customer service and satisfaction, was berating and rushing him. Hope this is helpful --- main issues were the poor info particularly on landline and trying to leave with about another 20 mins to complete the job. Customer Service is a major concern with them.
