When I asked my dealership about their window replacement process, they said it took two days. They replaced the window and let the epoxy cure overnight. The next day they would calibrate the windshield to work with all of the internal tech systems. That is the process at Bmw. I also had a similar experience with Mercedes a couple years ago on another car. It's usually a two day process. I decided to go with Portland glass because they assured me that they allow several hours for care time before they recalibrate. Well, come to find out when I called about the status of my car, they told me it was ready the same morning they started the job! She said the epoxy only takes about 20 to 30 minutes to cure... Will the windshield be OK and work perfectly in my car ? I guess that will be determined. Am I disappointed and feel misled? Yes. Am I concerned my windshield will have an issue in the future? Yes Portland glass can save you money and hopefully everything works out fine ... but if you have a high-end car and a lot of tech in your car that needs calibration with the windshield like mine, you may want to think twice.
