The girl working tonight is absolutely ridiculous. She denied all of us drinks even though our IDs are valid and she's refusing to give a reason other than "Uhm, it looks off". We even showed a passport which she refused to look at and said "IDs only". Like a federal ID isn't enough somehow?? We have been there every weekend for the past 3 weeks, never seen this girl, and all of a sudden refuses to serve us because one person has a completely valid ID, and she just wants to cause chaos. She refused to compare our IDs to prove the validity, and refused to budge. It was a valid ID, and the bartender was just being stubborn and didn't want to admit her mistake. Place has New Owners, before I walked in and walked right back out! So i was skeptic to visit again but SOOO glad we did!!!!! It was pretty busy for a week night the first night we went nice crowd we all sang some karaoke it was a blast! Felt like a rockstar on the stage... I was staying up after thanksgiving break, and went out a few week nights and Friday/sat of course and always ended up back at The Field.. (that's what the locals call) it.. The place has some great bartenders, the taco ladies tacos were amazing! My husband had nachos and those were delicious too!!! We will definitely be back !! I LOVE the dance/club nights !! They have fun lights and have no problem playing requested songs.. were not dancers but even my husband and I grooved a little bit... :) Thank you to the new peeps who bought the place! You brought the fun back to Marysville!! The themed event nights sound amazing and we are looking forward to attending the our first one the Naughty Santa Party you have coming up :) looks like a blast!! For several years I would come to this place every time I come into town. Loved it. Things started to improve with new ownership. Then they hired this one bartender that used to be a patron. Because I didn't agree with a viewpoint she had, she started calling me a piece of shit over and over. I never had a problem with anyone else bartending at any bar I have ever been to. I know I'm not very easy on the eyes, but I don't deserve to be treated like that. I still tipped her then left. I think if you are a young good looking person, you won't have a problem. Went in for a drink tonight, as I have almost every weekend for the past month. I'm 26 and have a completely valid state ID, which the bartender (wearing a pink shirt and covered in tattoos) refused to take because it "looked off." She didn't give me any other reason as to why she thought my valid ID was suspect. I offered my federal passport so she could confirm my age, which she outright refused to look at because they "only take ID." From there, she became extremely condescending. Even the two people with me offered their valid IDs for comparison, but she refused to check them or serve them because she didn't want to admit that she was wrong. I still don't understand why my valid ID was suddenly an issue tonight even when we offered alternative federal identification, and it was a completely ridiculous experience. read more

This is just the craziest little place and I could write about it all day and night. Let's see...where to begin. The furniture, carpet, chairs, etc. are all stained, old, and decrepit. However, I think this adds to the full effect of The Field and Stream experience. Some have said that Marysville is the axle of the universe. Some have also said at the Field and Stream that there really used to be a field and that there really used to be a stream. The karaoke is kinda lame now days...you have to pay money per song kind of like a jukebox. The bar used to be really fun, and the crowd of regulars used to be really fun 2-3 years back, but that has since ended. The bartenders, especially the attractive and really awesome ones, have all quit or been fired based on the owners knit picking and browbeating of them about every single little thing. There were several times I was there and the phone would ring at the bar and the owner who lives upstairs, Debbie, would call down and complain that the music was too loud, or that the bartender poured too much booze into a drink, etc. Even if there was a crowd of people pouring money on the bar, that phone would ring, and the bartenders would get scolded for serving someone who was a little drunk a drink, or for having the music too loud even though it was a set volume. The bar has gone way down hill. The smoking area out back consists of a fenced in, approximately 10 by 10 foot area, with unsafe, dirty, cheap chairs and tables that have been weathered, aged, stained, and vandalized since probably the 1970's. The area is filled with broken and old equipment and furniture, firewood, and tarps hanging on the fence. You could possibly get stabbed by dirty metal and acquire tetanus if you are not careful. The area is illuminated by really old Christmas lighting and is probably a fire hazard. The bathrooms are dirty, awful, vandalized, and emit an odor that can be smelled throughout the entire bar... The drinks are overpriced, and there never seem to be any drink specials or promotions like all of the other bars in the area. There is never a dollar beer night, there doesn't seem to be any advertising, and this bar amazes me it still makes enough money to keep the lights on. Let's talk about where the money comes from to keep the lights on. If you are ever arrested and end up as a guest in the Yuba County jail, and you are released with your commissary money, the Field and Stream is closer than the parking lot where your ride is probably waiting to pick you up. County inmates who are released frequently make this one of their first stops. Sadly though the commissary money they have is usually only enough for one or two drinks since they are so expensive. I have seen just about every walk of life in this bar. I have seen trashy people, inmates who were just released, bikers, lesbians, fatties, old guys, old ladies, and occasionally some very attractive people who only ended up at the Field and Stream since it never closes early and is ALWAYS open until 2am, 365 days a year. Here's some advice. Go to every other bar in Marysville, get wasted, and then, and only then, if you are having fun and don't want to go home and it is extremely late...maybe consider going to the Field and Stream as a last resort. Yes it's open until 2am on the weeknights, even after all the other bars close, yes they have cold tasty beverages, but hopefully you are wasted enough to not remember the foul odor, the overpriced drinks, and the nastiness of the bar the next day. They need to do a renovation, start running some drink specials, advertising the drink specials, and stop being such tightwads. This used to be the coolest bar in town and had a cult following at one point, but it seems that the owners think they don't have to run drink specials, do a dollar beer night, or do anything that is going to attract business again. Seriously, this place used to be the coolest bar in town with the coolest people. Is it too much to have it cleaned up a little and actually run like a decent business? I can't tell you how many of the awesome bartenders quit because of the constant phone calls downstairs to the bar. It's because the owner, Debbie, has the entire bar wired with video surveillance and has nothing else better to do than watch it all night and call down every single time she things she saw something questionable. it's ultra annoying. I know jails where the prisoners have more freedom. They don't accept credit cards, have a little crappy debit/atm machine that works half the time, and it's just not very convenient at all. Sadly there was a troll who lived upstairs that would hang out and proclaim himself as the assistant manager of the bar while sexual harassing all of the bartenders into tears while drinking downstairs all day. He has since moved on to Stassi's a block or two away after getting into it with the owners of the bar. This place so used to be awesome! read more

The Field & Stream is cozy and seems to have karaoke every night. Among its few patrons, I'm convinced I mostly see prostitutes and lesbians, but maybe that's just wishful thinking. That being said, I wouldn't touch said ladies of the night with a 10-foot pole. The drinks are a bit overpriced for my taste, but I appreciate the pool table being pushed way to the back so the focus in the main room is pretty much just karaoke. Of all the bars in Marysville, this one rivals the Cortez Room in number of fights witnessed. Someone always seems to be pissed off. read more

Ok, so this isn't the swankiest place around but I really enjoy going here. The business isn't in the best condition and it isn't very big either, but I feel the ambience makes up for that. The place has a "good 'ol boys" kinda feel but everyone is accepted. I love coming there to karaoke! The karaoke system is good (and the acoustics in this bar are AMAZING), the new kitchen is open on the weekends with some killer pub grub, and the bartenders are fantastic! Really fun place to sing karaoke. Great sound system and fun crowd. Nostalgic places like this make a fun stop when you're out of town. This place is the only place around for miles and miles that stays open into the legal early morning hours. Don't bother driving around, head straight here. Tip: They smoke in here. You will come out smelling like cigarettes. If this was a non smoking place or had a separate place for non smokers I would give 5 stars. Likely not to happen since it's family owned. read more

On a road trip I ended up here kinda stumbled on to it. Crazy. Random Thursday. NO LINE for the Karaoke. The selection is limited but leans country. I sang America by Neil Diamond and Paint it Black by the Stones. Drink prices are good and the pool table in a florescent lit par of the room that looks like it could be used as a filming location for a movie. The place would be a lot better if the owner just got rid of some rude employees that should be let go immediately. I would not recommend to anyone. Best bar around and fantastic owners. Under the old ownership, this bar was royally bad. It went from being one of the worst bars I've ever been in to the best bar. I always love to go here now. The new owners have put this bar on the map and everyone should stop in and check it out. They got a cool little bar out back where you can smoke. Alright y'all..!! So much good things to talk about this bar. I moved to Marysville about 6 months ago and didn't know anyone. Went into Field and Stream for the first time and I was welcomed right away from the bartender Cedar . Sometimes it can be difficult coming into a small town bar. This was not the case at all. Now this is my bar I go to and bring all my friends to Field and Stream. I have met so many new friends. The owners of the bar are absolutely amazing people and you can really tell they love their bar and everyone that walks in. They have done a lot of new things to this place. They have a chef now and even a outside bar. I really do feel so comfortable and welcomed at this bar. Wolf and September are doing a fantastic job owning a bar. I wish nothing but the best for them and Success.! Oh yeah I can't forget how much fun I have every time I go to Field and Stream. Also when I take friends from out of town, they always tell me how much fun they had and they'll be going back. read more

Went to the Field and Stream for the first time on Saturday night! What a great place to go. There was some pretty hot chicks there. Karaoke was going good and the Bartender was rocking out some drinks.I never had to really wait to get a drink, he seemed like he knew right when I was ready to order another. Someone told me the place never closes before 2am too. It would be nicer if they had DJ and played some dancing music. I was looking forward to getting my groove on. All in all it was a great time.
