We even showed a passport which she refused to look at and said "IDs only". Like a federal ID isn't enough somehow?? We have been there every weekend for the past 3 weeks, never seen this girl, and all of a sudden refuses to serve us because one person has a completely valid ID, and she just wants to cause chaos. She refused to compare our IDs to prove the validity, and refused to budge. It was a valid ID, and the bartender was just being stubborn and didn't want to admit her mistake. It's really a shame because we live in walking distance and we're really enjoying being able to walk down and play pool and have a beer. Now we'll be going elsewhere.

From the moment I arrived, the attitude came off as rude and dismissive rather than welcoming or professional. Instead of communicating clearly or respectfully and descalating situations as bouncers should do, this specific bouncer was doing the complete opposite causing situations to escalate and make guests feel uncomfortable. Bouncers are there to deescalate situations not make situations. What makes it worse is that this kind of behavior reflects directly on the business. A bar can have good drinks, music, and atmosphere, but the first interaction people have is with the staff at the door. When the bouncers create an uncomfortable or hostile environment, it hurts the bar's reputation and discourages people from returning. I've heard the same complaints from others, which tells me this isn't an isolated issue. Management DO BETTER this is unprofessional not fair to the other bouncers and workers at your bar who are good at their job.

I had heard they had great chicken wings and decided to get a small order ( 6 pieces) . They have a ton of sauces to choose from. I chose the spicy mix ( their viking and Chipotle I think). It was good and crunchy and came with a couple celery and carrot sticks. What I didn't like was the 30 minute wait for 6 wings. Also I had bar seating and could see into the kitchen. More like a social hour than concentrating on their patrons. If you are a regular you will be taken care of quickly. It's more of a sports bar ( full bar) attracting mainly guys. That's fine..it just wasn't my vibe. Plenty of tvs to watch sports which is a plus ( big 49ers fan!). If I eat there again I will order ahead of time and pick it up. The musty smell of the inside was a bit of a turnoff ( old building?). I had a bite and took my food to go. I had plans to go to Sopa Thai!

The food here is decent and I'd give it a solid 3.5 out of 5. Highlight here was the burger for me. Wings were a bit fatty but they were big and saucy too. I'd definitely visit again if there was a big game on and I was in the area. Restaurant was clean. Service was good as well.

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Maryville (at 1st & D St's), and next to the Chinese "Bok Kai Temple", this longstanding and well known restaurant/saloon/hotel has been in operation dating way back to 1858 when the peak of the gold rush era was thriving in California. Over the years, the upstairs hotel (a.k.a. "The Grand Hotel") was once a brothel amongst various operations before becoming a permanent hotel for guests to stay. Meanwhile the downstairs has served as a full-size bar complete with a ton of American comfort food to choose from on their extensive menu. I came here during the afternoon of Saturday 7/19/2025 at around 4:30pm. Since this was during the 25th annual "Marysville Peach Festival", there was a ton of customers and locals visiting during my visit. Surprisingly, parking was easy to find as I parked directly outside of the building. Once inside, you are immediately drawn to the nostalgic wooden interior. From the looks of it, not much has changed here over the years complete with vintage sepia chandeliers, huge brick ovens, taxidermy displays of various animals, and everything else that represented the wild wild west. Their menu is extensive and has just about all of the stick-to-your-ribs food you can ask for. This includes a ton of appetizers (poppers, fries, mozzarella sticks, etc.) as well as a nice variety of main course entrées that include sandwiches, burgers, salads, steaks, pastas, and much more. And since you're in a saloon, they offer all of the top whiskies, bourbons and brandies as well as a ton of beer on tap. Keep in mind that they are closed on Monday & Tuesday but open for business Wed/Thu and Sunday from 11am-8pm and Fri/Sat from 11am-9pm. After narrowing down what I wanted, I finally settled with their "French Dip" sandwich. This was a traditional and classic sandwich complete with their smoked roast beef w/Swiss cheese & mayonnaise on a hoagie roll with a side of Au Jus sauce. I opted with home fries as my side and a Coke to drink. I also ordered a starter appetizer which was their crispy "Chicken Tenders". Our server was very attentive as my +1 and I sat on a quieter side of the restaurant (near the windows). Total time took around 25 minutes to get our food; not a big deal considering this place was absolutely packed with customers. Overall, my French Dip was delicious and filling. They were generous with the thin sliced roast beef while there was the perfect amount of cheese. The au jus had the right amount of consistency as each bite hit the spot. However, the chicken tenders were just so-so as there was too much breading on the exterior. And considering these were $16.95 for 4 tenders, it was quite a bit on the pricier side. I don't want to knock this place too much but I did see quite a bit of flies by our table. But I do realize that some of these things are beyond their control with as busy as it was. All in all, the "Silver Dollar Saloon" is a good place for small and large gatherings. The service was excellent while we got filled up during our visit. My rating, an above average four stars.

Maybe it's my Asian background and being used to authentic Thai food, but the food just wasn't good. The boat noodles were missing that rich, dark, beefy broth they're known for. Instead, the broth tasted bland and lacked the deep, savory flavor that makes boat noodles so delicious. The Pad Thai barely had any sauce. You could clearly see the noodles were still almost clear instead of being coated. The little sauce it did have mostly tasted like sugar and salt. The curry was also disappointing. I didn't notice any Thai basil or the fresh herbs and flavors you'd normally expect. Overall, the food tasted more like Thai fusion than authentic Thai cuisine. The service wasn't great either. There were several employees standing around even though the restaurant wasn't busy, yet we still had to wait before anyone came over to ask if we'd been helped. Also, if you're planning a date night or just want to have a conversation, don't come on a Friday unless you call ahead to see if there's a live band. The music was so loud that we could barely hear each other. What surprised me most is that the location and atmosphere are actually really nice. The restaurant has a great setup, and the other side has more of a bar/lounge vibe that people would probably enjoy. Honestly, the atmosphere is much better than the food. If the food were even half as good as the location and ambiance, this place could be amazing. I'm especially disappointed because eating out is so expensive these days. I even tried taking the boat noodles home and adding hoisin sauce and boat noodle seasoning, but I couldn't save them. It still tasted bad. Total waste of money. Sadly, I won't be coming back.
