Fantastic atmosphere, food, and service. The best omelette I've ever had. I definitely look forward to going back.

When you first drive up, it doesn't look like much on the outside. However, looks can be, and in this case are, deceiving. It's a great space on the inside. A cool diner vibe. A smaller space, with lots of photos and "chatchki's" all over the place. Everyone was very friendly. I didn't get to meet "Mom", but I met her daughter, I believe it was "Caden"? I also got to meet grandma. This was my first time here, but everyone treated me like I was a "regular." I decided to go for the "hot mess." Basically, an "everything scramble" with cheese on top, mixed with home fries. I asked them to leave off the bell pepper, which they did, and I asked to have the potatoes replaced with fruit. I got a nice cup of peaches, instead. The meal was absolutely fabulous! A decent sized portion, and all of the ingredients played well with each other. It also came with a biscuit that was large, and fluffy. The price was extremely reasonable, and they even offer a military/veteran's discount. Stopped by this little diner just to check it out. Grabbed a cup of coffee and their biscuits and gravy with bacon. Small place but great service. Treated like a local as soon as walked in. Quick service, good coffee and some pretty decent food. I would do 5 stars but the place could use just a bit of cleaning up...I get its old and a local dive but someone could spend a few minutes on sweeping up the floor. Other than that this is the type of local eats I love to find. I will be back in for a full breakfast on my next trip up to Yuba County. read more

This little hole in the wall is a true gem! My friend and I visited Mom's Diner recently. My friend ordered breakfast and while I simply had a cup of great coffee, I couldn't help but spy on what other customers ordered! The burger looked sensational with lots of ground meat and good toppings! The fries also looked divine! I had a conversation with one of the many regulars who frequent Mom's Diner, and he solidifies my thinking that probably anything you order is going to be delicious! The classic diner, greasy spoon and that's a very good thing! Thankfully we found our way in on a Saturday while in town for the California Swan Festival. Mom's is closed Sunday and Monday and it would have been so sad to have missed this roadside attraction. The owner, Stephanie, and most of her family have been running Mom's Diner for about 10 years. It really is a family affair. But Mom's Diner has been a mainstay on the main drag for decades. It's wonderful that another local would take up the mantle to keep Mom's going strong. The place was bustling when we arrived but were able to wrangle a table in the corner almost as soon as we walked in. The menu had all the best diner offerings from biscuits and gravy to chicken fried steak, pancakes, eggs, French toast and so on. That doesn't even include the lunch delights. I had a mini-breakfast which was just perfect - one egg, two bacons, crispy potatoes and homemade biscuit with honey. Perfect size. Mike's plate of house corned beef hash with crispy hashbrowns, two eggs and an English muffin - the plate was overflowing but he ate every bite. The diner has a counter with stools - it wouldn't be diner otherwised. I used to live right down the street from Mom's and we had breakfast there quite a few times it was always perfect. Unfortunately we rarely go back to marysville so we will drop in if we are there but we can't see driving all that way just for breakfast. read more

Five stars because old fashioned customer service is what made this place special. The Hot mess is basically an everything omelette all scrambled up and the French toast was sweet and flavourful. An old school diner that had every 50s and 60s star you can think of on the walls. This business made me happy because it reminded me of what we no longer have and that's good service. Ordered a BLT. Bacon was overcooked and hard as a rock. Bread was not properly toasted. It was obvious it had been in a toaster as it was dry but only one corner of one slice was actually toasted ( browned). Potato salad was ok. read more

On the way to Oroville the guys wanted a huge diner breakfast. Quick yelp check and I found Mom's diner. Exactly what they wanted.. Hometown feel decorated with lots of Elvis and and country decor. Very simple and comfortable. Country fried steak was huge and came on 2 plates!! All for $8.75!! I had an egg sandwich with cheese and bacon on Texas toast. So good! Service was casual and friendly. Our server took my coke to refill and forgot to bring it back but I didn't really care so I didn't say anything but as we were leaving she made a joke about her being forgetful and brought me a Togo soda for our drive! I will never go to this place again! I took my 18 month old here for breakfast. They served the 3 tables of people that came in after me before us and when I said something about it the waitress got rude about it. I guess they expected me to hold my son while eating as they gave the other parties all the high chairs. The rudeness we were met with was crazy. Needless to say we left without eating! read more

Came here on a random morning, craving some biscuits and gravy. Well, luckily for me they were pretty spot on. The atmosphere was welcoming as I sat at the wrap around bar with what appeared to be a bunch of regulars and listened to conversations about several topics. The service was adequate as there was only one waitress and she was definitely busy, but still relatively on top of everyone's food/drinks. The only complaint I have is that for the platter I ordered, the eggs and hash browns were included on it and mixed in with the gravy. I'm a person that does ketchup with my hash browns and eggs by themselves - however, here I never had the opportunity :/ Minus that set back, I'd still go back if I were in town and craving some breakfast. I have attempted to visit this local hole-in-the-wall diner for a few years now to no avail. Finally, today was the day I succeeded in my quest to try out this diner for breakfast - hooray! It is a small building with a wrap-around counter and a few tables in an adjoining room. The staff seem to know everyone by name and the food is absolutely delicious. The prices are beyond reasonable and I am definitely going back not only for the food, but for the local charm and enthusiastic service. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant as well as in the back but not too many places to sit down - so come early on a weekend! I will definitely return here to try other breakfast items because everything looked delicious on the menu! Yum. read more

We read the Yelp reviews and were expecting more than what we received. This little hole in the wall place is the type of small, family owned place I look for. It just didn't meet my expectations. The hash browns weren't up to snuff. The chicken fried steak was not freshly prepared, but just the same as you'd find many other places, chopped, formed, breaded, flash fried and frozen for later cooking. MEH. The gravy was above average. Nothing else stood out. My wife wanted a Belgian waffle with strawberries or blueberry pancakes; they had neither. She settled for the regular waffle. It was just ok. Service was decent and the waitresses were friendly. I probably wouldn't return as it just was not that good. read more

We had an early Saturday morning breakfast. We came in about 745 which was perfect timing a bunch of people started rolling in around 8am. There was very much a local vibe here but our waitress was very friendly and inviting and seemed to know all the regulars. It was just one waitress and one lady cook in back. We ordered the special of the day chicken fried steak, came with two eggs, potatoes or hashbrowns, and biscuits and gravy. This was enough food that my husband and I both walked out full. The chicken fried steak was perfect and my husband said the gravy felt like his grandmas homemade. The eggs were cooked as requested sunny side up and we asked for well done potatoes that came out perfect and crisp. We sat at the bar which is the center point but it does have about 15 or so tables. Only thing is potatoes and eggs could of used a tad bit more salt but I appreciate it being under because I can always add more myself. The waitress refilled coffee, brought us out hot sauce and ketchup and all that food and coffee came out to the best deal ever for breakfast at $11.25.
