the "Hot Mess" (not pictured: biscuit with gravy)

it's fun when you're taking a morning break and you type in "breakfast spots" and then a list pops up and the first place mentioned is 200 feet away! that's how I found "Mom's Diner" what a joyful treat! wonderful, traditional breakfast dishes, classic 50's diner setting, lots of Elvis, Marylin Monroe and Beatles memorabilia... and some local veterans who were fun and friendly to chat with Stephanie was our waitress and not only is she cute, but very cheery and helpful: she took great care of us and was very genuine order the "Hot Mess" and choose a biscuit for your side and add gravy! keep it up "Mom's Diner"

The classic diner, greasy spoon and that's a very good thing! Thankfully we found our way in on a Saturday while in town for the California Swan Festival. Mom's is closed Sunday and Monday and it would have been so sad to have missed this roadside attraction. The owner, Stephanie, and most of her family have been running Mom's Diner for about 10 years. It really is a family affair. But Mom's Diner has been a mainstay on the main drag for decades. It's wonderful that another local would take up the mantle to keep Mom's going strong. The place was bustling when we arrived but were able to wrangle a table in the corner almost as soon as we walked in. The menu had all the best diner offerings from biscuits and gravy to chicken fried steak, pancakes, eggs, French toast and so on. That doesn't even include the lunch delights. I had a mini-breakfast which was just perfect - one egg, two bacons, crispy potatoes and homemade biscuit with honey. Perfect size. Mike's plate of house corned beef hash with crispy hashbrowns, two eggs and an English muffin - the plate was overflowing but he ate every bite. The diner has a counter with stools - it wouldn't be diner otherwised. Everyone was so friendly, Lots of memorabelia on the walls featured endless photos of Elvis, Maryilyn Munroe, Route 66, and more. Hope to get back here again.

Five stars because old fashioned customer service is what made this place special. The Hot mess is basically an everything omelette all scrambled up and the French toast was sweet and flavourful. An old school diner that had every 50s and 60s star you can think of on the walls. This business made me happy because it reminded me of what we no longer have and that's good service. Thank you Moms Diner!

On the way to Oroville the guys wanted a huge diner breakfast. Quick yelp check and I found Mom's diner. Exactly what they wanted.. Hometown feel decorated with lots of Elvis and and country decor. Very simple and comfortable. Country fried steak was huge and came on 2 plates!! All for $8.75!! I had an egg sandwich with cheese and bacon on Texas toast. So good! Service was casual and friendly. Our server took my coke to refill and forgot to bring it back but I didn't really care so I didn't say anything but as we were leaving she made a joke about her being forgetful and brought me a Togo soda for our drive! Sweet!! My son is going to school soon near here and says he will eat here before heading home to visit.. super good friendly diner grub!

Homie set-up. This is the center of the diner

I also had a specialty matcha tea and it was very good as well. I sat outside on the adorable patio. I felt a bit bad even asking to change it, so I went up to the counter and politely asked the girl at the register if we could add an extra shot to balance it out. The cashier was genuinely nice and sweet; she immediately turned to Trinity and asked if she could do that for us. Instead of a standard professional response, Trinity treated me with an immense amount of rudeness and a terrible attitude. Her hostile tone was completely unprovoked. My sister watched the entire interaction play out and was incredibly upset on my behalf because of how disrespectful Trinity was to me, especially since I was being super polite to begin with.My sister felt compelled to speak with Trinity directly about her behavior right then and there. It is highly disappointing to see such a blatant lack of professionalism in a customer service role. While anyone can have an off day, taking it out on a polite customer and ignoring her own coworker's polite request is unacceptable. It is a cute place with potential, but customer service is everything. I am rating them low because of this experience, and I hope management addresses Trinity's attitude moving forward.

Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Maryville (at 1st & D St's), and next to the Chinese "Bok Kai Temple", this longstanding and well known restaurant/saloon/hotel has been in operation dating way back to 1858 when the peak of the gold rush era was thriving in California. Over the years, the upstairs hotel (a.k.a. "The Grand Hotel") was once a brothel amongst various operations before becoming a permanent hotel for guests to stay. Meanwhile the downstairs has served as a full-size bar complete with a ton of American comfort food to choose from on their extensive menu. I came here during the afternoon of Saturday 7/19/2025 at around 4:30pm. Since this was during the 25th annual "Marysville Peach Festival", there was a ton of customers and locals visiting during my visit. Surprisingly, parking was easy to find as I parked directly outside of the building. Once inside, you are immediately drawn to the nostalgic wooden interior. From the looks of it, not much has changed here over the years complete with vintage sepia chandeliers, huge brick ovens, taxidermy displays of various animals, and everything else that represented the wild wild west. Their menu is extensive and has just about all of the stick-to-your-ribs food you can ask for. This includes a ton of appetizers (poppers, fries, mozzarella sticks, etc.) as well as a nice variety of main course entrées that include sandwiches, burgers, salads, steaks, pastas, and much more. And since you're in a saloon, they offer all of the top whiskies, bourbons and brandies as well as a ton of beer on tap. Keep in mind that they are closed on Monday & Tuesday but open for business Wed/Thu and Sunday from 11am-8pm and Fri/Sat from 11am-9pm. After narrowing down what I wanted, I finally settled with their "French Dip" sandwich. This was a traditional and classic sandwich complete with their smoked roast beef w/Swiss cheese & mayonnaise on a hoagie roll with a side of Au Jus sauce. I opted with home fries as my side and a Coke to drink. I also ordered a starter appetizer which was their crispy "Chicken Tenders". Our server was very attentive as my +1 and I sat on a quieter side of the restaurant (near the windows). Total time took around 25 minutes to get our food; not a big deal considering this place was absolutely packed with customers. Overall, my French Dip was delicious and filling. They were generous with the thin sliced roast beef while there was the perfect amount of cheese. The au jus had the right amount of consistency as each bite hit the spot. However, the chicken tenders were just so-so as there was too much breading on the exterior. And considering these were $16.95 for 4 tenders, it was quite a bit on the pricier side. I don't want to knock this place too much but I did see quite a bit of flies by our table. But I do realize that some of these things are beyond their control with as busy as it was. All in all, the "Silver Dollar Saloon" is a good place for small and large gatherings. The service was excellent while we got filled up during our visit. My rating, an above average four stars.
