We also ordered several pizzas for the table, and they were the perfect accompaniment; the crust was great and they came out hot and fresh. Really wanted to love fieldwork based on all of the reviews but sadly we were unimpressed. We stopped by on a really busy day so there wasn't anything inside but we didn't mind sitting outside. The service was fast and all the people who worked there were really friendly. The beer and cider options were great and there really is something for everyone and that includes folks like me who usually don't drink beer. Our issue was more around the food. The pizza we ordered had absolutely no flavor. Like Weirdly no flavor. Pizza looks appetizing in the photo but when we took a bite all we could taste was the bread. No seasoning. The sauce had barely any flavor. Just a bunch of grease and bread. The fries were not hot and may have possibly been sitting for some time. We just did not enjoy our food at all. Hoping this was just an off day considering how packed this place usually is. I'd come back for the drinks but I'd probably skip the food. read more

I've been to several Fieldwork Brewing Company locations and am usually a big fan--especially Berkeley, where the service is friendly and on point. Unfortunately, this San Ramon location continues to disappoint. On my most recent visit, I ordered a single non-alcoholic canned beer through the QR code system at the table. After 20 minutes, nothing had arrived. I double-checked the Toast ordering system and confirmed the order had gone through--tip already included, of course, since you're required to enter it upfront. From there, it went downhill. Multiple staff members walked by, clearing tables but not once checking in or offering help. I tried to get someone's attention several times and was essentially ignored. Eventually, the person who originally seated me noticed I was trying to make eye contact and came over. He went inside, grabbed the beer, and casually said, "Oh, they just poured it." That explanation didn't match the situation at all--and frankly, it felt like no one was paying attention to orders or customer experience. Yes, it was busy--but there were plenty of employees working. The issue isn't staffing, it's management and accountability. There seems to be no coordination or urgency here. This location is by far the worst of the Fieldwork spots I've visited. If you're expecting the same level of service as Berkeley or other locations, you'll likely be disappointed. This Fieldwork Brewing is huge compared to the one in Berkeley. The outside patio is a perfect place to get some work done with a beer in hand on a nice day. I stopped by on an early Monday afternoon and as expected, the place was completely empty. The staff behind the bar was really friendly and I was able to try out a few samples before settling on a full pour. So many good beers on tap this time of year, and plenty of beers are available to go in cans in the fridge near the front. Tables are clean, bathrooms are tidy, water stations are everywhere, and there's even fast WiFi. In my opinion, tap rooms are better than cafes if you're looking to get some remote work done -- so much more quiet. Last but not least, parking is somewhat limited in the area because the tap room is located in an outdoor mall where there are a ton of other stores. It is pretty casual but fun for an afternoon visit or a low key dinner. They rotate the beer selection, so sometimes it sucks that your favorite may not be on the menu, but they do not disappoint. The tater tot pizza is a must, and honestly their salads are pretty good and filling. The shishitos are pretty tasty as well, I feel like they have added some other things but I am loyal AF to the tater tot pizza. read more

This is my third time at fieldwork brewing and every single time that I've come here I've always had an amazing experience with the staff and the food. This time I got a chicken wrap and a flight of beer. The chicken wrap was very tasty and not dry. They have an extensive amount of beer choices you could choose from, but I got the flight of the staff favorites and let me tell you they know their beers. It's always busy at this fieldwork brewing location, but they are able to seat you relatively quick. I think I only had to wait about 5 to 10 minutes. We live close to Fieldwork in San Ramon; therefore, we visit quite often. We stopped in today after our Costco run and had two slushies and a cheese pizza. The slushies are great on a hot day, since it definitely was. I wish you still had the sour cherry, which is my favorite. The pizza was fresh, crisp and a great snack. Erin was very helpful by bringing us a taste of the new slushie and she is always smiling. There is one chicklet working there that doesn't ever seem happy unless she's flirting with one of the guys at the bar. She's the blonde girl with the cutoff Fieldwork shirt. This is a great spot in San Ramon! It is located in Bishop Ranch, making it a great spot to go after walking around and shopping. I like how there is outdoor seating, it's a great spot when the weather is nice! There is also a lot of seating inside so we didn't have to wait for very long. For the food, we got the hot and bothered pizza and the kale salad. I love how crispy and thin the pizza was, that is my preference and all the toppings went great together! Came here on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy at all. We got the fun guy pizza, pepperoni pizza, and the Hail Mary pizza. The fun guy pizza was my favorite slice by far. I normally don't like mushrooms but the mushrooms were perfectly cooked and I couldn't even taste them. The sauce was perfectly creamy and blended well with the other toppings. The pepperoni pizza was good as will I just wish there was more cheese on it. The Hail Mary pizza personally wasn't my favorite as the sauce and the chicken were a bit too spicy for me but I liked the thick crust. Got the friend pickles and the Zinfandel. Both were good. Complaint is around the service. Came in around 3pm and asked if there was a happy hour. Was told no but that prices were cheapest in the mall... waitress had a sassy attitude when I asked. Decided to sit down anyways. looked up other places in the mall out of curiousity while waiting for my order. That claim was simply not true. Could have found food and wine for half the price at that time in the same mall. Waitresses when bringing my food and wine also had a rude tone. Outdoor they have heating lamps and grills. Inside they have 2 areas and tabled areas. We had a Saturday afternoon reservation for 5 adults and a toddler for 230 and the service was great. We ordered cheese pizza, a hummus plate, French fries, and Brussels sprouts. I got a couple of their hazy ipas and in the small portion as a flight to try the different flavors. They have self service water and gender neutral bathrooms. Service was great, lots of different brews to choose from and cider and wine options, along with non alcoholic options too. There are so many options of beers. I didn't try the food but the pizzas that my friends ordered looked delicious. Compared to San Mateo location I think the San Leandro Fieldwork is a step up. They were quite busy on a Friday evening. We had a cake to put away/grab for a birthday and it was hard to grab their attention. Very juicy and feels chock full of vitamin C. Made for pirates to avoid getting scurvy. Westcoast Slang IPA : Brewer Cliff Notes ; candied pomelo, blue diesel bugs (WTF),chenin blanc grapes. My hot take ; smooth, clean and rich flavor, zero bitterness and max drinkability!  NightMaker Double Oat Stout : steel cut oats and musketeer nougat. This one is rich and silky with a clean finish hedging toward an Irish stout. Would go well with a shot of whiskey and something sweet like candied pecans. Well, that's all I got. Fieldwork rocks! Great vibe here, super location near all the office campuses with workers looking to blow off steam. I've been here in the early days when they were just a bar, with food coming from next door. But these days, it seems they have their own kitchen and are pumping out pizzas and other bar grub. Again, great place to chill with friends when the weather is nice out. Even when it's a touch chilly, the outdoor fire pits give a nice ambiance. Gets tough when it's windy and cold though. They might consider some temporary wind breaks around the perimeter. It also seems like they expanded their seating areas. Beers are on the hoppy side, even their non hops have some bite to them. I like them, especially when they come out ice cold. Servers are nice and attentive. Also came during their collab with 95.7 The Game to kick off the Niner season. That was pretty awesome, they should continue to host special events. I'm a regular. Golf Suite Reservation I reserved a 1 hour block in the golf suite as a backup to a tee time that had the potential to get rained out. Friends bailed on the backup plan so I took my wife and two kids (4 and 6) and had a great time balancing adult time and kid activities. The hour goes pretty quick and likely wouldn't get through a full round of golf with 4 golfers. If you bring the kids, you'll be "screen managing" and cycling through the various games (soccer, football, hockey, golf) while trying to cram food/drinks down. So if you're looking to chill, I'd recommend booking 2 hours. This was a great rainy day activity for both adults and kids and I was surprised by how uncrowded it was. We did not have another reservation booting us out at the hour so we stayed a little longer playing goalie without the screen activated. read more

I was a bit skeptical at first since we had a large party and splitting the bill was going to be a pain. Good thing the ordering process was super easy! Great place to have a private party. We attended a milestone birthday party here tonight in the private dining area, with two hours booked for virtual golf, soccer, hockey, football, and so on! Guests received a link so we could place our own digital orders, and staff were very quick to help when one of the screens stopped functioning. They let you decide between default choices, but I decided to customize mine with a few drinks across their menu. I'm not the biggest beer fan, but the flight let me experience everything across their menu! My friends and i were pretty hungry, so we decided to order a pizza. It was amazing!!! The square pizza is pretty thick, and is worth getting. I heard from others that their wings aren't a lot in quantity, but are also pretty good. I love that Fieldwork Brewery is now at Bishop City Center - it's our go-to spot whenever my husband and I host friends and family from out of town. I first discovered Fieldwork years ago when I would visit my alma mater, UC Berkeley. Go Bears! Founded in Berkeley, they serve some of the best craft beers I've ever tasted, so having a location so close to home guarantees them a forever customer in me. When it comes to the menu, it can be a bit overwhelming with so many great options - pilsners, lagers, sours, IPAs, and more. They also offer a variety of food, including pizzas, Brussels sprouts, pretzels, and hummus. My personal favorite is the pretzel with a side of house mustard - it's the perfect pairing with a cold glass of beer. For seating, they offer both indoor and outdoor options. The outdoor area has a fireplace, which is especially cozy in the winter. It gives the feeling of sitting by a fire, and my kids absolutely love it. They also have a nice lounge area in the back that can be reserved for larger parties. Overall, I love the vibe here. It's great to bring friends and family. I recently visited Fieldwork Brewing in San Ramon with my Dad and we enjoyed it here! My dad loved the beers here and said he'd definitely drink them again! I got him the beer flight for $18. I also ordered us some appetizers: "The Hummas" pepitas, smoked salt, za'atar, parm'd pizza bread $11 which was tasty, kinda had a different take on pita bread and the hummas was amazing! The hot pretzel, kinda dry but otherwise good came with mustard dip $8. The Shishito Peppers with furikake, lemon, smoked salt, for $12, they were tasty some were kinda mild some were pretty hot. It came out to about $49 before tax and tip, I actually felt pretty much full after, so not bad for some appetizers and a single beer flight for 2 people! Fieldwork Brewing overall had a nice ambiance to it, fresh modern vibe, cute neon sign, plenty of TVs to watch sports games, and nice fire pits and heaters outside! I only took off one star just cause the waitress kind of disappeared for a long time and so did the rest of the people working there. We wanted some more water but they never came back other then to drop off the check. But we otherwise enjoyed our experience here and would come back if in the mood for some local beers and appetizers. Would love to try their pizza next time! read more

We made a pit stop to Fieldwork prior to dinner. Upon entrance, they gave us a 30 minute wait but it also seemed like a first come first serve type of seating situation. My friends were able to find a ton of seating in the back and we began ordering. Ordering is such a breeze. You purchase via the QR code; and you can even have multiple tabs per table! We ordered a round of beers, wine, hummus, and brussel sprouts. The food and drinks came out instantly. It was quite shocking. The staff was friendly. The food was delicious (especially the hummus!). Consistently delicious beer. I lived a few blocks away from their flagship location in Berkeley, and was not sure how I felt about trying one of their newer branches. Came by after the farmers market on a Saturday at noon and it was pretty quiet. Grabbed a patio seat and ordered using the QR code on the table. Within 5 minutes we had a king citra and ice cream castles stout in front of us. King citra is a hazy northeast IPA and the ice cream castles was smooth with hints of vanilla. They've convinced me that Fieldworks is delicious at any location (although I'll always be nostalgic for their flagship location)! However, the initial greeting could use improvement--there wasn't much of a welcome when we arrived. Later, when I went to the host station to ask for a to-go box, I had to wait for quite some time while employees chatted about non-work-related things before I was acknowledged. Drawn by curiosity and description of their other brews, we settled on a flight, which included the Belgian pale ale "Olyvia," the "Five Ten" West Coast pale ale, the "Seagazer" New Zealand IPA, the "King Coconut" double IPA and of course, the "Pulp" IPA. Each beer was distinctive and very good, but the "Pulp" was our ultimate favorite. We both made sure to grab a pack to go. We also ordered the oven-baked wings and the Detroit-style "Delivery Boy" pizza, which paired deliciously with our drinks. Despite the full house, the service was fast. My review in the low side takes some explaining . I'm a beer geek, I go to places that make great beer, ambience comes second but is also important to the experience. The beer is well done with a good variety. Food is "ok" but you're not coming here for well executed cuisine. A decent pizza and wings get the job done, but nothing to write home about. If I were a 29 year old dad with a 6 month old in a baby bjorn, and a three year old on a IPad preparing for a lifetime of attention problems, I'd love this place. But as someone who no longer has tiny kids, and loves old school craft breweries, I struggle with the atmosphere here. Screaming babies pushed us out of the indoor space. Outside it's strollers and kids running everywhere. Lots of dogs, some of which lunge/ Bark at other dogs that regularly walk by. I get that in a suburban area, this is the demographic that is the most profitable. But for people like me, who's kids are almost grown up, who wants a great beer in a place for beer lovers, I just don't enjoy it. I also really dislike the service system. Ordering and paying from an app has some advantages. But it removes the personal touch of talking to a server. "Hey what do you think of the new hazy?"-nope. How would a server know a regular customer and have any idea of how to connect? I know this is the new thing and probably "cost effective" but it's a shame. All in all this place feels like a cut and paste corporate brewpub model. As a last nitpick, the outdoor chairs are terrible and uncomfortable. Not the Adirondack type fire pit chairs, but the regular table chairs. Sit with shorts in that for 30 min and your hamstrings look like you were punished for graffiti in Singapore.
