We started with the complimentary chips and salsa, added guacamole and pico de gallo. These were good. A little bland . My husband had the buttered sautéed bacon wrapped prawns meal and I had steak fajitas + mushrooms. He said his was great. Mine was good. It could have used some seasoning. The prices are higher than we expected for the area. The servers were very nice and the right amount of attention, including water and soda refills. The ladies room needs repairs although it's usable and mostly clean. Hot is cold, cold is hot and it's all loose. Love having booths with high backs. I want to try their Molcajete next time. I came back to this place and tried the green chili. Still all the wonderful things that I said in my first review. This is a five star Mexican food in ellensburg Washington review. It's good. Lots of people having margaritas and men enchiladas and other fun Mexican drinks. I had the green chili and it was tender and delicious and it's nice spicy at all but it has a nice chili flavor. I walked away with our order so impressed and grateful! The owner / manager took so much care of us. We stopped in on our drive to Seattle, looking for a quick lunch order. He helped us order based on what's best to eat while driving, offering drinks while we wait, kept us updated on the status (mind you this was a less than 10 minute wait). And our burritos were amazing. Such a fun twist with French fries and chipotle ranch in the California burrito. We love to support local and now know this will be our preferred spot on road trips! Stopped here for lunch on the way back from camping over the weekend, but since it was a holiday the place we were originally going to go was closed. The food was alright, but not amazing, and the service was ok hence the 3 star review. I had the two enchiladas and one taco combo that came with rice and beans. It was ok but nothing special or amazing about the dish. The one notable thing was that the chicken was moist instead of drier chicken I've had elsewhere. My boyfriend had the fajitas burrito which was really tasty! I definitely would recommend it over my dish. I would recommend going to a different place in Ellensburg for tastier Mexican food, but it is conveniently located near I-90 so it's good as a food pit stop. read more

We swung through here on our drive from Seattle to Pullman and it was a perfect quick lunch. The service was prompt and friendly (the place was nearly empty at 11 am on a Friday) and the food was serviceable. The other table in there was full of Spanish-speakers, which I take as a good sign. Best way to describe this place. Meh. On both food and service. Me and my gf split the fajita platter which has beef, chicken, and shrimp. It was overcooked on all levels. On top of it, we got a bad piece of beef that was nothing but fat. Gross. There is nothing great to say about this place other than the decor is great to look at. Why do we love most Mexican restaurants? The chips and salsa. Well, I must admit, their salsa, although mild, is very good. Fresh ingredients and taste. They give a smaller tray of chips than normal and not once did the the waitress ask if we wanted more on either the chips or the salsa. This has never happened to me before. I was quite disappointed. I do not feel the value is worth going to this place. Fajitas and a couple of Jaritos and we were up around $30. Hitting the local taco trucks would have been a much better choice. read more

I ordered the fish tacos, which I assumed would be like a blackened Rockfish or some other cheap fish. You know, it's obviously not gonna be mahi mahi or something, just normal fish tacos. I honestly thought my expectations were pretty low for a $15 entree. Nope, the fish tacos came out and guess what it was? A mashed up fish stick. Not even a whole fish stick, a MASHED fish stick. I exchanged looks with my table mates as we stared at this horrifying abomination. It did not look appetizing. But you know what? I'm not one to judge by looks. There didn't look to be an ounce of spice on this thing, but maybe there was something added to make it taste better than it looked? I took a bite. Nope, couldn't do it. It tasted exactly like a fish stick. Something I'd feed to my young nephew while babysitting. So I waited patiently for our server to come by. I ordered something else, the $11.65 entree my friend had gotten, nothing special. My table mates were finished by the time I got my food, but that's fine. It was good. They dropped off the checks, and I found out they had charged me for the $15 fish tacos, instead of the $11 entree I had actually consumed. Whoops, no big dealio. The next time the server came by, I asked her to put my entree onto the check, and she made it seem like she was doing me a favor by not charging me the cost of that ALONG with the cost of my fish tacos. Um? I didn't eat the fish tacos, so I'm not paying for them. I worked in a restaurant for 3 years, I know how this happens. She says she'll send the manager by. Okay, good, I'm cool with talking to a manager. It's just a few bucks, lets get this cleared up. He comes by the table, and this is where it gets weird. He tells me that if I ordered the fish tacos, and they take the time to make them for me, then I should pay for my fish tacos! Even if I don't eat them! And THIS TIME ONLY he's going to take off the difference, he's really doing me a favor, but it's not going to happen next time! And he's kinda agitated throughout this exchange, like he's pissed, but keeping his voice low so the surrounding tables don't hear. Um holy shit, sir, calm the fuck down. If you're going to sell me a fish taco, I'd really like to have a fish taco. Maybe I'd eat the fish tacos if you didn't actually give me mashed fish sticks in a tortilla. Just a suggestion? Also maybe don't be fucking rude to your patrons. Being the bigger person, I tipped the server $3, which would be a 20% tip on $15 my fish stick tacos originally cost. My biggest regret is that I really wish I would have taken a picture of the mashed fish stick on a tortilla. read more

Heres a recipe for salsa to get you off one the right foot. We went to this place for dinner when we drove back to Seattle. I had steak fajita with corn tortilla, and it was the best ever! It came with sour cream, guacamole and killer pico de gaio. Don't let the prepackaged tortilla chips fool you, the food was as good as in $30 entree restaurant in downtown Seattle.
