Delicious food, great service! We stopped in for an early dinner and were greeted and sat right away. Stefan was our server and he was fabulous!! I would absolutely request to sit in his section again! He was very attentive, answered our questions, had a lot of passion, and really seemed to care! He also got our orders just right with all the special requests - which he assured us was the perks of their restaurant making things for each dish - you can customize as you need. Three of us had burgers: - Heckburger as listed on the menu, with fries - Heckburger with chicken patty, heck sauce on the side, Swiss cheese, no tomatoes or onions, and substitute onion rings for fries (slight upcharge) - Salmon burger with onion rings Burgers were delish. The brioche bun makes it! The chicken patty was great flavor! Both the fries and the onion rings were delicious. I'd likely order the fries instead of the onion rings next time. We were all happy with our meals and would order them again! Our fourth person ordered a half house salad and the wild mushroom ravioli. The house salad was a generous size and very good! The wild mushroom ravioli was soooo good! The pasta was delicate and the flavors went so well together. Our server shared that the pasta is made at Antica Italian restaurant right next store! We had a lovely lunch yesterday. There were 6 of us and the server was very pleasant and helpful. The bigger location is beautifully decorated. I'm more partial to quieter spaces so the loudness due to the hard surfaces made a conversation hard. The food was beautifully presented and flavorful. We came here to ring in the new year on New Year's Day!! Heck's.... The perfect place for brunch!! I got the Heck's Croque Monsieur... DELICIOUS on their sourdough bread!! & it felt better eating it with a salad than the usual fries! I'm not sure if this was a special or on their regular brunch menu, but worth the taste!!! The other decided on the Ohio City Breakfast & the Breakfast Sandwich! Both really good & LOTS of food... you will have some to take home! First time here. And last... Service was soooo slow. Weren't even busy, but took 20+ mins just to get a mimosa. Food came and holy cow. The brieberry was a flavorless, unseasoned patty (I licked both sides-no salt or anything) that was premade. Fries were good. Breakfast sandwiches were a huge weird egg patty that was bland and gross. The Wild Things breakfast literally had ONE cube of chicken amongst overcooked oversaturated in pesto potatoes. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They don't know food. I shall be brief. They've allowed some line cook to be the oracle of the culinary world. I walked in after researching their menu online. I knew I wanted their breakfast sandwich. The only change? I wanted the eggs on the sandwich over-easy/sunnyside up. (In fact, when I walked into the restaurant, there was a couple at their table with sunnyside-up eggs on their plates so I knew Masterchef in the back understood the concept!!!). I asked for sunny-side up on the sandwich instead of the scrambled eggs listed on the menu. Then I ordered coffee and orange juice while I waited. The server/bartender told me the cook wouldn't prepare my eggs that way. I've had several breakfast sandwiches with the eggs prepared sunnyside up. This is not a new thing or even expanding culinary boundaries. It's a very normal thing...I've had it this way in restaurants in St. Louis, Chicago, and even DC granted, not in the Cleveland/Avon nexus of existence. When they told me they wouldn't prepare the eggs for my sandwich that way, I simply paid my $9 f**king dollar bill for orange juice and coffee and exited the restaurant (NINE DOLLARS FOR COFFEE AND OJ!!!!!!) The only Michelin ratings this place will EVER get will be on the tires of their car. MORONS! I will NEVER return. read more

We hosted a surprise birthday party for my sister - a party of 24 guests on their covered terrace. Working with the managers, Mike and Douglas, was awesome. They were so helpful and accommodating. Our superb servers for the party were Pamela and Stephan. They were outstanding in every way from the moment we arrived until we were packing up at the end. Gracious, kind, helpful and attentive. Went at 5pm of a Wednesday evening. Not very busy. Had some appetizers and the Market burger. Food was delicious! It's a fancier take on regular items like pierogies but w/Balsamic reduction and truffle cream sauce; like chicken potstickers but w/orange-ginger ponzu (dipping sauce). Yum! I have been to Heck's a few times before, and I always cringed before going this time around. Previous times I have gone , my impression of the menu was that it was trying too hard to go out of the norm. There isn't a really straight forward burger on the menu (and I just learned this time you could just order a simple burger if you wanted). This time around was Mother's Day coinciding with my daughter's birthday. They chose to go to Heck's I really was not thrilled but I went (of course). I struggled with the menu and the burgers. I did ask the server if the chicken sandwich was really ground chicken or a patty. She explained to me that it was ground chicken and she recommended it on a brioche bun instead of the pretzel bun. Unfortunatley , the service was quite slow and our server didn't really check in with our table to really explain things. The table next to us was getting pretty antsy about the wait saying things to their server. Eventually after almost 60 minutes of being in the restaurant (on the patio, where it was getting colder --spring in OH), someone came out and checked with us and apologized for the delay. Our food came out shortly after that. My family ordered a salad to be shared, and my daughter ordered a traditional hamburger (LOL). My chicken sandwich was actually very delicious and I ordered the onion rings to go with it (for an upcharge). The rings were done 'normally' crisp sweet batter surrounding onion ring. My appreciation of Heck's just jumped up once again and I would be okay with going again knowing now I could order a traditional burger or the wonderful chicken sandwich on brioche bun! read more

I've been to heck's Avon while they were next to Mitchell's ice cream. My friends mentioned they moved and got a bigger swankier space and I thought we should check it out. So we came here for lunch, ordered buffalo cauliflower for the table, caprese avocado toast with eggs on the side, the husband ordered the Beachwood burger. Friends ordered the baklava French toast for the table that unfortunately I couldn't taste as I was off meat and eggs for a week. But they gave raving reviews for the French toast and to say it was gone in 2 minutes is an understatement. The avocado toast looked like I might have to order something else on the side but they were pretty filling and sumptuous to say the least. The husband ravished every bit of his burger so I guess it was delicious too. The only downer for the day was the buffalo cauliflower, low on the hot sauce but high on vinegar it was too acidic for our liking. But overall love the service, ambiance and food. First time at Heck's. We were seated quickly and our server was very friendly. I recently had lunch with my granddaughter, she ordered a salmon burger that she enjoyed. I ordered a bowl of soup (stuffed pepper) and a mushroom Swiss burger. The soup was recommended by our server. I don't know where they got the recipe but before they made soup out of the stuffed peppers the meat was forgotten. It was a bowl of rice in a tomato base sauce. They must dragged a little bit of the peppers through the sauce and the dumped the rice in. It wasn't warm, but was flavorless, I had two spoonfuls. Their burgers are boastfully grass fed. I really enjoyed mine - it was cooked medium rare as I requested and was quite juicy. The truffle potato sticks were a little too rich for me but I loved the combo of balsamic onions and bleu cheese. I would highly recommend this. I had a bite of the Market burger and I can't say much about it because I don't remember it but my partner seemed to enjoy it. Where do I begin. I have been to heck's in Avon a few times over the years and have always been pleased with the service and unique seasonal changing menu. Upon entering you're greeted extremely nicely and the entire place has an industrial ethereal feel to it. I am a vegetarian of 13 years and I brought my meat eater boyfriend here and they hit everything out of the park. We started with brussel sprouts that we asked to service without bacon (which was recommended by our lovely server leen) and with the garlic aïoli. Coming straight from costco to Heck's, I couldn't have asked for better portion sizes and faster quality service. My boyfriend ended up getting the Beachwood Burger with fries and I got the Shõka Bowl (v). The burger was fantastic, juicy, well seasoned, portion size was nice, and fresh. You get a very generous portion of fries that are as good as the county fair!!! The Shõka Bowl was a very unique and delicious experience. I loved the veggie variety, all the sauces were amazing to try, and again it was such a good amount of food. The eggplant was so good i'm at a loss for words for it. I have NEVER had a dish like that at a restaurant and I will not be forgetting about it. Then we dismissed ourselves off with the bread pudding. the bread pudding is A MUST. Best. Dessert. Father/Daughter Brunch review #2: My daughter and I immediately loved the ambiance and beautiful restaurant. The menu options were varied and plenty sounded delicious. We were seated almost immediately and given extremely friendly service. My daughter had an omelette and I had the short rib Benedict. Her's was great if not spectacular. Mine was decidedly not good. I'd definitely go back and pick something else but that meal is what dropped a star. There was zero salt on the short ribs and the damp spinach overpowered every other flavor on the plate. The home fries were well seasoned and crunch - a huge plus. My daughter had an "innocent cocktail" and absolutely loved it. We gave it a 7.7 out of 10 and rounded up the 4 stars on yelp. read more
