Absolutely unacceptable experience. We came in as a group of five and were given one tiny bowl of salsa. When we politely asked for more, the owner brought another very small bowl and was visibly irritated by the request. When my mom later asked for additional salsa, the owner slammed a drink down on the table and said, "Look, the salsa is not free." At that point, we were on the verge of walking out. My mom tried to de-escalate and said it was okay, that we would pay for it. He then begrudgingly brought one more tiny bowl. So in total: three very small bowls of salsa for five people. When the check arrived, things got worse. An 18% mandatory gratuity was added without explanation, and we were also charged $15 for salsa. The total bill was $211.34 for five people. To top it off, when the owner placed the check on the table, he said, "I'm glad you pay for the salsa." It felt rude, confrontational, and completely unnecessary. This was one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences I've had. Poor attitude, poor service, and shockingly unprofessional behavior from the owner. We will never go back. read more

We went here to eat dinner, a local told us that the food was great here. It's tucked in behind other shops on the Main Street. We enjoyed our dinner. It was good, but not spectacular. Three of us shared the nachos grande with chicken and the chicken quesadilla. The quesadilla was very good. The nachos were good, but not spectacular. We had a group of 7 - they couldn't sit us all together, so we split up. They were able to put us all on one check though for a big party, which included an automatic gratuity for a large party. Fiesta Jalisco bills itself as a real Mexican restaurant. The server mentioned they are an authentic Mexican restaurant. It has an expansive menu. It is definitely decorated like a mexican restaurant. The food is pretty good and filling. There is a bar that serves Margaritas. The service and food were very efficient. I guess it is a real Mexican restaurant! At least to this gringo's senses... That said, I am not sure what a fake Mexican restaurant would be, Taco Bell? Thinking about it more, perhaps they bill themselves as a real Mexican restaurant because there are so many international visitors to Breck who may not have had the chance to eat at a real Mexican restaurant. Many of these international visitors are from the Spanish speaking world. Fiesta Jalisco does not seem any less (or more) real than the Mexican restaurant a mile from my house in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Note that our server said that they will no longer be splitting checks in a few weeks. The server mentioned he hated splitting checks. Everyone has things about their job they do not like. The FOOD actually was the best Mexican I've had in Colorado in general and I'm from Texas. The green salsa was actually spicy, not from the store like all the other places. I loved the rolled corn tortilla with shrimp.. it was amazing, cooked very well. The place just smells amazing and authentic. Down sides- I don't think the frozen margaritas had any alcohol... It was a fair price compared to other places BUT it didn't even make me feel the slightest buzz or even taste of alcohol. The service, I wasn't very happy with.. all very old aged servers. Just go to Taco Bell. A friend and I had lunch here and it was the worst tasting food I've eaten in years! I got the three tacos, and it was repulsive I spat out the carnitas taco because it had a rotten and foul taste. We had to sent it back and get a chicken taco instead which came out mid at best. We had the enchiladas, salsa, and fajitas. Nary a spice to be found. I've boiled chicken with more flavor and I'm wondering now how they made it orange without any spices. The salsa tasted oddly sweet or smoky or something? It wasn't good. And the enchiladas had the same situation but somehow the sauce had no flavor and neither did the chicken. The service was great! Their chips and salsa are made in house are were super good too. Being from the west coast originally I have to say they're food exceeded my expectations!
